  • American beer is the first attempt to dilute water with success!

  • zu dumm zum einschenken echt jetzt.....

  • @tla123456 thats not the same ...

  • @SuperBeefTV yeah, youre right, root beer is definetly not the same as malzbier...root beer sucks :S

  • Let him try some thing other than a&w it's the worst root beer

  • Was ist mit schopen?

  • cream soda..ewww D: Pennsylvania Dutch Birch Beer is the best!!

  • what about the root beer float?

  • lol apfelschorle is like lift ^^

  • Spezi is Orange Juice With Coke dumbass

  • Way to much apple juice^^

  • To all the Germans: Is it similar to Karamalz?

  • The beer is from Holland.

  • Well half those drinks Germans were mixing were US drinks XD Im not being competitive IM PART GERMAN!

  • @Marinesofairsoft1121 I'm pretty sure Sprite and Fanta are German companies.

  • @DenEldenKrieg I siad MOST and Fanta is US germany has its own similar company

  • @Marinesofairsoft1121 okay, i thought so...but it's just the products...there's no proof that sparkling water, and apple juice...ect..are American, they only used American products because they're in America, obviously.

  • @DenEldenKrieg Honestly I dont care you can lok it up but im positive most of those are American made but may be sold by a new name in Germany

  • @Marinesofairsoft1121 Yes, the brands are, but not the actually drink...Europeans where drinking apple juice before our country was even founded...it's just the corporate name is American.

  • @DenEldenKrieg Evcerybody knows applejuice is from central Europe Im talking Dr Pepper and Root Beer

  • @Marinesofairsoft1121 There wasn't any Dr. Pepper in the video, there was coke though, and everybody knows that is American and the brand never changes in any country. I'm not sure if root beer is American, but i know Birch Beer is Pennsylvanian Dutch (aka Deutsch-German, not actually Dutch) and the Root beer float was founded in Philadelphia though.

  • @DenEldenKrieg Yea I meant Coke not sure about Sprite but Im positive that Fanta is American...

  • @DenEldenKrieg Afaik Fanta was a german local branch of the coca cola corporation that was selling only in germany in the 1940s. It came to the US during the 50s. And I think Sprite was just the lemon version of Fanta originally. I think Mezzo Mix (which is coke + Fanta = Spezi) is extremely big in germany. But coca cola only sells it in germany and austria afaik. Also Lift Apfelschorle is made by Coca Cola, so they are good at making some cash out of regional drinks... but belong to coca cola

  • @llmorbvsll hhmmm....i understand..thanks for the info!

  • I want some german mouth wash.

  • @tla123456 its not the same !!1 absolutely not ;-) but rootbeer is tasting as great as malzbier !1 i drunk the original rootbeer on an the base in baumholder *mjamm*

  • Spezi + Radler? Uuuuh yuck lol

  • It's funny watching them drink

  • in Hamburg, we call Radler, Alsterwasser ^^

  • Dutch beer? Are you serious? And then in a Spaten glass?

And yes, Radler is just for girls and btw:

    APFELSCHORLE FTW!

  • zuerst das Bier oO dachte das weiß man XD

  • Dude, you're representing Germany and THIS is how you pour a beer? Jeez! ;)

  • i can't believe a german doesnt know how to serve beer =.= and mixing beer with anything is for pussies, and every proper german would state that

  • wow he used diet coke

  • Vodka Germany = 5 €

    Vodka U.S.A. = 20$

  • @THEFUNKYBEATS 5€ vodka in germany = shit + headache the next morning.

  • @maaaarzl what ever -.-

  • @maaaarzl Me not ;) I love 5 Euro Vodka :D

  • mezzomix for life bitch!

  • Drecksack (Beer with Coke) is also nice.

  • @FrancisJoa I call that "Diesel", never heard of "Drecksack" as a drink - thanks for telling! ;-)

  • "spritzi!"..."what else do you got?-.-"..."mhkay" hahhahhhaah greetings from germany;)

  • ur Fanta is more orange'ish than the norwegian Fanta

  • banana beer is delish!

  • Hey Alex, you should introduce Jim to KiBa as well. That's banana juice and cherry juice, but not mixed up. You take a glass, put in banana juice first and then poor in cherry juice very slowly. It gives a neat pattern, is therefore nice to watch and it tastes awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • Beer and regular coke is aslo good :)

  • @1Atchi1 We do call that one "Diesel" in Germany

  • WHAT ABOUT ROOT BEER FLOATS!? Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in root beer.

  • In Emsland (a small part of Germany) we say "Spezi" and mean Coke with Schnapps (Hard Liquor) :) And yes, the German Fanta looks more yellowish :) but it's also a great show!

  • The Fanta probably tastes different in Germany than in US because in the US they use corn syrup, and in Germany, I'm guessing they use natural sugar. It's the same for soft drinks as well. Coca Cola tastes better in Europe than in the US as well, for the same reason.

  • What bananajuice, never heard about it in norway. I better go find some in an international shop here :) Hope they have it!

  • @tla123456 Die 2 unterscheiden sich extrem im Geschmack!

  • First the beer and then the Sprite ;)

  • What? I've never hear about mixing Beer and Sprite and I'm german.

  • @gelbepaprika2007 Nö kenn ich nicht :D Kann aber daran liegen das ich erst 15 bin :'D

  • @TheGreenCupcake1 was ist blos mit der heutigen jugend los??????? ;)

  • @TheGreenCupcake1 Lebst du hinterm Mond? :D

  • No Rootbeer!?! D:

Why is the cream soda brown?? ours is pink...

    xDDD

  • Why is the German guy using American ingredients to make his "German" drinks?

  • @lonelycompany It ist because Coca-Cola, Sprite and Fanta are very popular in Germany, but of course you can make your Radler with any 'Zitronenlimonade' or your Spezi with any 'Orangenlimonade' or Afri-Cola as well. The first Origins of any Limonade are in Europe, so even Coke or Sprie are not really american ingredients

  • is radler like shandy or is it the same thing?

  • The guy with the red hat is really good loking

  • I'm American and @ vivalafriend need to shut up

  • hmm german Bier is the best^^

  • Radler is beer with lemon not with sprite!!! And only the 12-16 year olds drink that, a real german drinks no radler or when he does than only for flushing jaegermeister down!!!

  • Love how the beer used for the 'typical German' drinks is Dutch.

  • @MiloDaemon haha yea your right ^^ th problem "Heinecken" sounds more german than dutch

  • @LuckSkyStar I suppose the way it's pronounced in English does make it sound more German... Our language has a little too many sounds that don't exist in others.

  • the orange Fanta in Barcelona is flippin amazing the one in germany is really good too lol omg I'm american and i HATE root bear. But in jamaica there's a drink called Apple J which is basically...apple soda but it's amazingggg. I've never seen it here in the states and no one ever knows what im talking about, only other Jamaicans.

  • i was adopted from germany when i was six now i live in usa

  • germany wins,u.s.a. is all hfcs.

  • beer and sprite (lemonade) is called shandy :/

  • uhhhhhhhhhhh i dont like root beer, my DH love it! i hate it!

  • in uk some people mix lemonade and beer and its called shandy

  • Root beer is not famous in Germany.. we had it at Subway... I guess nobody bought it so they stoped selling it! :(((

  • "In America I guess were not as creative as yall..." I'm American, and ever since I was little, my and my brother would make very odd combinations of soda... But hey, this video is true, most the people I know would flip if they heard of half the things said in this video.. XD Thanks for the post! (I LOVE germany and really want to visit one day X3)

  • I'm german and i love root beer

  • Radler with Sprite? Shame on you, just use some fresh lemon juice and you're good to go. ;)

  • haha, norwegian fanta is yellower to......even the taste is different from swedens fanta x)...i travell 10 minuts. oh im in sweden, dont buy fanta it taste wierd haha

  • Thanks to your video I tried the cream soda on our last vacation in USA and I love it! Rootbeer is an absolute "no go".

  • Why is his cream soda brown :S...mine is always pink LOL.

  • Ihr habt was vergessen Malzbier, Banaweizen und Colaweizen! ;)

  • @klramon

XD

  • wanta spezi wnata wanta spezi spezi

  • We have something called sparkling cider in America. It comes in what looks like a wine bottle and it's essentially sparkling water and apple juice mixed.

  • Herrgott Alex! Das Bier richtig einschenken^^

  • anyone who hates rootbeer but pours soda into a real german beer( OK YOU USED DUTCH BEER), has taste buds removed, sorry, keep the show's a coming. And root beer can have booze in it!

    loved this episode as well.

  • I love Radler!!!!

  • The European Fanta is more original! It has orange juice and cane or beet sugar, but the American Fanta hasn't. The American Fanta has much of fructose corn sirup in it. And the American has some flavor enhancer, ehich are banned in European countries because these substance could be bad for your healthy.

  • Ah i looked for a answer and i founded: Fanta is a german drink. The FAnta drink are produced in many countries. Many countries produce their fanta self. So they can pruced fanta different.

  • This Fanta is so orange i'm irritated.

  • wow this Fanta is very orange. Our Fantas are much more yellow!? Why?

  • Comment removed

  • Oh my, root beer is my favorite soda. Wintergreen is a common ingredient in root beer, so I definitely understand where you could taste mouth wash. Also, I've always thought cream soda tastes like cotton candy.

  • Asked my German friend about these, she said she loved them (specially the Coke/Fanta one ;D)

  • yeah, root beer tastes really like Listerine for a german :D

  • Does america not have MezzoMix?

Fanta+Cola. It is pretty common here in Germany :)

  • @TheRhodan MezzoMix ist afaik Orangensaft mit Cola.

  • I had a lot of Appletiser's (it's a brand) in Hong Kong this summer (it was very very hot over there).. The best apple drink i ever tasted. So refreshing. It is awesome, probably a lot like your Apfelsaftschorle.. Cheers from Groningen, NL

  • Root beer is gross! Tastes like Listerine.

  • hehe alles aufgespritzt ist gut. Ich bestelle normalerweise Fanta aufgespritzt :)

  • heineken isn't beer, it's more like catpis

as a german, he should've used real beer. (that is german or belgian beer)

  • in germany we have "diesel" too, it´s beer with coke

  • at first i didn't really liked root beer but after i finsihed it i was totally craving it.

  • your mixing Heineken. LOL

  • Apfelschorle is so good! Jim you forgot to mention Root Beer Floats! ( Root Beer and Vanilla Ice Cream )

  • une Panache (bleck)

  • i dont get how root beer can taste bad!

  • you should have tried Mountain Dew. It tastes so different and is basically only available in the USA (Well, it's just coming over to the UK) and is the nicest soda ever! :D great video

  • @GreatBritishGamers Mountain Dew you can buy it in Poland too

  • :) nice

I think the reason why Fanta is looking/tasting different to the german Fanta is because the american Fanta seems to equate the german "Fanta - tangerine". At least it looks like that and would explain the special taste.

  • apple + sprite = süße apfelschorle :D hiihi

sorry falls das hier schon gesagt wurde^^

  • In our area people drink saurer Radler which is Beer+Mineral water. I dont like it. I like Bananenweizen (Banana juice and white beer) and Krefelder (Dark beer/stout and cola).

  • If you are in austria try out Almdudler! You can order it mixed with beer as an Almradler and it's just great.

  • to you american folks: dont you have Mezzo-Mix in the states?

  • Was mit Kräuterlimonade? Ist das diesem "Root beer" ähnlich?

  • @lanzelotz26

  • Sprite and Beer...now that's an original idea :D

  • @on91 it is in fact and he is right, it is really a refreshing drink.

  • der kann kein radler machen

  • I'm drinking a radler right now: Saranac Pale Ale with Sprite. I love it! Thanks Alex!

  • dont you americans not know mezzo mix an lift ?

  • @Weidenalex ne das sind deutsche sachen

  • Jim!! you should have mentioned root beer floats!

  • Jim Beam is my drink! The first Jim Beam distillery was founded by an german. But its an US-american Whiskey factory and its just awesome! I love that!

  • Yeah, root beer! Echt gewöhnungsbedürftig

  • I love root-beer and now I really want some of this German toothpaste that tastes like it.

  • I thought the same with the rootbeer when i went to Canada. First i thought it's beer, bute afer tasting it was totally awful.

    I agree with Alex!

  • I live in Sweden, after watching this i went and bought a Rootbeer with a big American flag on it in a American-Swedish store in malmö. It tasted horrible, exactly as the German said about mouthwash. a can cost me 3$ (20kr). waste of money. I rather drink what the German shows in this video.

  • atleast here a radler means beer and orange lemonade

  • WOW...at 02:00 I thought you're going to become cornholio...never saw that happening before while drinkin a radler...

oh by the way, nice vid :)

  • GO USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • When i go to McDonalds i mix all the drinks :D Good

  • Bier mit Banane? Pfui Spinne!

  • I LOVE THE HISTORY IN GERMANY...I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE FOODS..DRINKS..ECT..I ENJOYED THIS VIDEO...THOSE GERMAN DRINKS SOUND GOOD.

  • where is the flensburger beer

  • I tasted radler in Stuttgart and it blew my mind !!!

    amazing !!!

  • I've noticed they only have ORANGE Fanta here in Germany. I'm used to getting grape flavored and more in the USA.

Root beer is flavored with Birch Bark or Sassafrass. It's kind of spicy (like a sweet "krauter").

The strangest thing I've seen here (from Day ONE, was beer with LEMONADE. It's not too bad, but sounded strange to me. The worst was like a cherry-cola with beer. Had it at Oktoberfest. Won't have it again.

  • Some of the local restaurants have a WHOLE BUNCH of mixed drinks made with Red Bull. Seriously. Haven't tried them...probably won't.

  • und diesel: bier mit cola

    beer mixed with coke

  • Lemonade and Orange Juice is amazing

  • I love Apfelschorle, I didn't know that it was a popular drink in Germany, it's a lot better than flavored soda

  • USA 4ever

  • Jim, make Alex a Root Beer Float.
