  • Your disclaimer is 100% false for a simple reason: you are not aware of what you are doing. What you did was present an existentialist viewpoint of human existence without using words: that's all. You didn't know you were doing it, but you did... Existentialist philosophy was the last attempt to make sense of all the insanity and destructiveness of human civilization. It failed to make sense of it: just as you also failed to make sense of it. But... you DID present the truth.

  • Whoever made this video is an angry, messed up kid. It's pretty badass though.

  • yup, looks like a school project. Should be renamed SENSATIONALISM part 1

  • Well, I read and re-read the comments and I still don't see any point at all to this video. So basically at your school you are free to just paste random images together, come up with a generic title and pass it off as art?

  • @playadominical Right, it's meant to be showing different choices throughout history, these choices have affected the world in some way, as well as the ability for man to choose his own actions. As a result, it is saying that due to these events, we can either be more free or less free, depending on your own thoughts. It is called Existentialism because it presents you with choices, and at the end you must make your own choice. Whether the previous choices were a good thing, or a bad thing.

  • @playadominical Also, please remember this was meant to be in the style of Koyaanisqatsi by Ron Fricke. I'm sure you'll be able to find it if you look. That video is about an hour and a half of random images put together with very little relevance to each other. As such, this was maybe a good recreation of his style, and possibly a bit mmore poignant with the message.

  • @playadominical If you've seen Koyaanisqatsi you'll get the allegory

  • This is not an existentialist video. Nothing to do with philosophy of any kind. Thumb down, sorry.

  • @melissagrosberg I had not intended it to be an existentialist video. It is fully explained in the comments, and I guess I should include the explanation in the video description. Hopefully that will avoid future confusion.

  • @melissagrosberg Read the description you sycophantic bitch

  • What does Adolf Hitler has to do whit a powerboat crash?

And what do the 2 of them mean with existentialisme???

  • @tisiaan I have already explained this numerous times. Read Author Comments. Should be easy enough.

  • @TheNs420 I wasn't even operating under any pretences this video had anything to do with Sartre. I am very much aware of Sartre, but I looked in the dictionary for the defenition of Existentialism and it said simply "the philosophy that man is free to choose his own actions" and I made the video based around that idea. It was discussing the effect that choices made in history have had on humanity. In fact, it even quotes this definition at the end of part 2. Sorry for wasting your time.

  • Disturbing to say the least. 10/10.

  • Philip Glass...Extentialism

  • Man to me you got an A! this video is fucked up!! good job!

  • This kinda sucks when considering how it relates to existentialism.. its sum fucked up shit yea.. but still, how does it relate?

  • Read my comment earlier on. It isn't actually supposed to relate to existentialism, it was merely just taking the definition in the dictionary and creating this to show choices that had been made in the past that changed the world.

  • well I suppose you can make your own meaning out of it ;p

  • how the heck does this demostrate anything about existentialist movement?

  • It wasn't supposed to. Read the info at the side, tells you what it's about. It does, however, show the basic idea of existentialism, at least, the definition given in the dictionary.

Try watching part 2 and reading the information next time before you start asking questions.

  • this is really good and powerful.

question though, where did you get your clips that you used?

  • The clips were all taken from websites in the public domain. It may take some searching though... I'm not exactly sure where some came from.

  • wow, amazing work! Excellent choice of music as well, really fits with the imagery.

  • I would like to add how fucked up us humans are..... we do not deserve to live on this planet or any other for that matter

  • it's not even about that. I know what u r saying but thats like part of who we are right now as humans. we need to live our lives as we now and we want, according to the conditions in which we are living. as we evolve there going to be ashamed of certain things and they will change.

  • so your saying without making these mistakes now we will never learn?

  • Comment removed

  • Well not like we will never learn if we don't make them, but we learn from the ones we are making now..and we try to prevent further ones.

  • yeah I understand

  • I get what you mean man

  • thank you very powerful and moving work

  • Very moving...really gets you thinking about what state this world is in.... *sighs*

    Good work though... *grins*
