I am really annoyed that they took the guitar riff from Consolation Prizes and toned it down to make a slow song out of it. I was liking this band a lot until I came across this song.

I hate that people are constantly comparing bands to others they already know. Obviously bands are influenced by other artists, but it's not like Phoenix and Vampire Weekend have the rights to a musical sound. It's almost like, "oh ok, Vampire Weekend did something like this in their music, so we should do something else?" Artists should be free to write music and not be afraid of "amateur musicologists" picking through their songs. Just enjoy music for what it is. Peace!
