I never thought Giygas or anything from the Mother games was scary at all.

Until I learned the backstory and started realized I wasn't just looking at a blob of red gas. I was looking at a red blob of gas that has gone insane with revenge until he's destroyed himself in the process, while in the process of doing so corrupts the mind of a child to do his bidding.

@gawee08 it's not that giygas IS a fetus, it's just that there is a silhouette of a fetus between the lines in the final form you can look up the third formation of giygas. Giygas was actually based off of a childhood experience of a creator of the game who thought he whitnessed a rape scene in a theater when he was young. If you ever notice the devil's machine as well it is vaguely shaped like a birth canal... So he isn't a fetus, but he is symbolic of rape pretty much...
