i did the fit test, and realized just how out of shape i am...im on day 4 of the program now and its honestly kicking my butt (i cried on the floor for several minutes before catching my breath), but i feel good though
This workout is the real deal. I'm not trying to sound like a cliche but if you do it right especially with eating the right foods and cutting out the crap which is half the battle you will see results. It's all about keeping yourself disciplined. I did this workout from mid July to mid August last year and lost 20 pounds. I've actually started it again because I want to lose more.

I started in december of 2011 and I recommend it, its so addicting, Im doing the Phase 2 right now, and I tell you is more difficult than the phase 1 but thats the point, you will get more condition faster. Shaun T is tha man. Also Im gonna try much later Asylum the next phase of Insanity.
@alexlaramusic well, it kind of is. If you can exercise after you get up and before breakfast (an hour later) is the best time because according to Dr. Oz, you're not trying to burn off your breakfast first. Your burning off you. I found it to be very effective with my workout regimen
@alexlaramusic Morning is best because once your done, your metabolism is up for the rest of the day unlike when doing it at night you don't benefit from the exercise because you rest afterwards
@edetunanaowo It's not necessarily bad to do it at night though is it? You see I have to do my workouts at night because I work 2nd shift 3 to 11 every day and after work is the only time I can do it.

I did this test this morning. I survived for about 10-15 minutes. Drank water, pushed until I nearly fainted. In the previous days - my carb intake was bad and I bonked so hard.
My rule of thumb for these workouts is: Show up and press play. Push until I can't go any longer, rest, rinse and repeat. I've worked out like this before in the past, kinda like reverse HIIT, and the results are usually more than stupefying to me. Can't wait until tomorrow morning. My fit test #1 is total garbage. lol

the fit test is actually 25 minutes, but this was edited.
the fit test is the shortest workout of the program, and u start out with it and end with it, and do it every two weeks to test your progress.
each workout is 35-60 minutes long excluding this one
ive started insanity over again and the fit test killed me.
