  • Sesame Street used to be creepy and cool. Nowadays it's just namby-pamby.

  • And where did the count get the skeleton, anyway?

  • ok? who let in the bat man

    kill me now!

  • The laughing skeleton scared the shit out of me as a child.

  • This is my favourite song of all time. Despite the fact that I wasn't even born when it was originally broadcast! I had it on video (still do, though I can't watch it as we don't have a video player) and watched it obsessively until I was about seven. :)

  • the german version is muuuuch more scary, as a kid i was scared to hell by that song...

  • LOL

  • Why doesn't the Count's monocle fall off when he's dancing so wildly?

  • @JGCooney Power of telekinesis, I reckon.

  • by FAR my favorite count song.... he really pulls off the romanian gypsy style well

  • I saw this in kindergarten once!!!

  • I think it would be great! The first and only Jewish puppet. Long live the Count!

  • I think the count is jewish.

  • @addman27 so what if he is?

  • don't tell me Count kidnapped some guy, waited fr him to die, rot, so when only bones are left, he could count them

  • @FrukSkoFcsae maybe, but "the count" will always be the sesame street pimp!!

  • Kinda reminds me of my lecturer in anatomy =)

  • I remember this from "Elmo says Boo!"

  • My friend Justin LOVED this tune.

  • The Count used to scare me as a kid, lol. I have seen my nephew watch the show lately and they have really changed the Count. He doesn't seem to live in a castle or anything. Who0 else hated the count as a kid but thinks he's one of the better characters on the show now that they are older? :D

  • This was my favorite Sesame Street song when I was a little kid. I still know all the lyrics to the chorus! Listening to it twelve years later, it's waaaay creepier than it was when I was a little kid, though. The part about if you had no bones... Considering how impressionable and timid I was as a kid, I'm astonished that I didn't have a nightmare about that or the laughing skeleton!

  • BTW, does anyone have the complete version of this skit that shows the Beginning and Ending Scenes of The Count's Castle (in English)?

  • huhhuhuhuh.. bones.. huhuhuhuh.. inside of you.. huhuhuhuh

  • The laughing skeleton used to scare me so much I'd run and hide behind the sofa until it was finished.

  • @nafeesa83 When you think THIS laugh is creepy, check out the german version:

    Graf Zahl - Knochen

  • luv when thy laughs....^^......

  • delta faucet commerical

  • i just watched a commerical and they used this song!

  • My childhood right here.

  • that's what she said

  • This song used to scare the hell out of me as a child.

  • The Count will be surprised when he finds that not just bones make a skeleton but so does cartalige if you're a ray or shark.

  • I find this, Humerous...^v^

  • @TheFrankenStand and i find this Humerus haha xD (the bone in your upper arm)

  • ...O.O This song is creepy.

It sounds like it should be a Villain Song or have its own circle of Hell or something.

  • I need the lyrics, can somebody help me ??

  • Listen to this and write them down as they come.

  • just google, "Sesame Street Bones Inside of You Lyrics"

  • nvmd i did it for u

Feel your fingers, feel your toes

Grab your elbow, pinch your nose

Touch your ankle, tap your knees

Give your chin a little squeeze

    You'll feel something hard inside

And it can not be denied

What you feel seems hard as stone

And it's something called the bone

  • Oh there are bones, bones, bones, bones

    Bones inside of you

    Bones, bones, bones, bones

    More than just a few

So many you can count them

    Amazing but it's true

There are bones, bones, bones, bones

    Bones inside of you

  • There are bones inside your hand

In your feet to help you stand

In your elbow and your heel

Lots of lovely bones to feel

Though your bones are hard to see

Still you have them just like me

They are not outside but in

    Yes they're underneath your skin

  • (spoken)

Now, when you put all those bones together, you may come up with something we call a skeleton. Remember that word, it's one of my favourites. And now, boys and girls, I will tell you what happens if you didn't have any bones ...

  • (sung)

If you had no bones at all

Then you couldn't run or crawl

And you couldn't stand up straight

Or eat dinner off your plate

Without bones we'd all fall down

Just like puddles on the ground

    Just like melted ice-cream cones

If we didn't have our bones

  • (spoken)

And now the most fun of all, I will count all the bones I can think of. The toe bone, that's one, the heel bone is two, the ankle bone is three, shin bone, four, knee bone, five, hip bone, six, rib bones that's seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven .... I love counting bones, ah, ah, ah, ah!

  • Kind of you. Thanks a million !

  • np. so... what are you going to do with the lyrics?

  • My son loves this MV . I wanna teach him how to sing it . However, I can't hear the song well due to his strange tone of voice. Once again, thank you very much!

  • no prob

  • My song loves the MV. I wanna teach him how to sing it. However, I can't hear the song well due to his strange tone of voice. Once again, thanks a lot.

  • Wasn't that the same skeleton from "Elmo Says Boo?"

  • That skeleton is the remains of Mr. Hooper.

  • Very funny but Mr Hooper died in the early 1980's where as this is set in the 1970's.

  • XDXD The count needs to stop talking to me friend Toni...damn it toni stop giving him your blueberry crack! and maybe he will calm down and his skin will go back to a natural pale color XDXDXD

  • Does anyone have the count's first day at school vid. Been looking for that for ages

  • OMG I remember this. LOL.

  • Some Sesamestreet songs need to be on the raido. They are that good!

  • the count is awesome <33

    this song is oldskool!!

  • I've heard that this is more of a Halloween song...and rightfully so.

  • This makes me think of the kind of songs that is in the Corpse Bride and Nightmare Before Christmas movies.

  • @JaakuDrachir this is halloween

  • Phew, I'm still wondering which child-hating maniac did the german localisation ^^

Watch it... it'll scare the shit out of you. It sure did to me when I was a kid

  • Is that video up here? German dubbs are always so different from the original. I am interested in hearing a German Count. :)

  • yes, you can find it here on youtube. Look for "Graf Zahl Knochen"

  • we needed this for nursing class, thanx count....ur the best

  • I don't remember ever seeing this when I watched Sesame Street as a kid, but it's SO COOL! I can't believe the skelleton laughs at the end--that's PRICELESS! But heck...it's a nice way to teach about bones.

  • The Count needs to lay off the caffeine...lol. Brings back memories...

  • LOLOLOL hee-hee man!

  • The part where Count starts counting the bones on the skeleton and the skeletons starts to laugh scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. Me and my brother used call a skeleton a "hee-hee man" because of this skit. LOL!

  • @peabody66 for real...me too!

  • One of the best Sesame street songs ever!

  • Here's to the Ever so Crazy, but lovable Count Von Count and his Insanely Badass Klezmer songs, h e was actually one of my favorites when I was a kid. I happen to be a bit eccentric :D HA HA HA *thunder*

  • -raises a wine glass- cheers! To the count! Ah ah ah ah ah! -more thunder-

  • Hilarious when the Count gets carried away with his songs! I love how funny he is!

  • OH MY *screams* this is it! this is the one! this is my favorite count song that i only saw like twice when i was a kid! First i was not afraid of skeletons and then i was afraid and now i'm not anymore, but it is a wonderful song and creepy setting! I wanted this so bad, THANK YOU words cannot express my gratitude!

  • me too!

  • Kooky, aint it?!

  • The chorus of this song sounds a little like "The Song of the Count," Don't ya think?

  • this one used to scare me, all the early sketches did, now I am not scared at all.

  • Oh yeah, this terrified the pants off me as a child, especially when he laughs. o.o Eep!
