how does a surge tank work?

The intank fuel pump supplies fuel into the surge tank that feeds into 1 or more externaly mounted fuel pumps. This prevents fuel surges (running out of fuel) and prevents engine damage. Under hard accel/decel and cornering fuel in the fuel tank can be pushed to to one side of the fuel tank, starving the intank fuel pump. The surge tank maintins a constant supply of fuel to the engine.

Why everyone converts the invidual throttle bodies to a single throttle body setup on high performance GTR's ?

Better flow on boosted engines or what? I'm pretty confused because N/A engines loves ITB's.

It's for engine management and is mostly used on GTR's that have got rid of the AFM's, power FC D-jetro is such a system.
