Udit is famous in Nepal and India Both He sang over 15000 song all together but he started career by starting singing the Nepali song. No doubt Udit is sensational singer. His Nepali songs are heart lifted

I don't consider Sonu's songs like dil vich lagya ve as "fast" either..but I do love his vocals in it, esp in the last 15 secs: /watch?v=EYNmGC7VKbM. You're going off topic with clothes and singing English.. I think its great that Sonu can sing western songs too and his dressing style is a freedom.. he dresses how he wants to, not how people think he should. If he feels like going casual on stage in jeans, big deal. He dances for fun - again whats the big deal? Its singing that should matter
The fact that Sonu does sing "Fast" songs and sing English songs doesnt mean he sings them very well. Every singer deems him/herself to be very verstaile whereas it only holds true for 1 or 2 singers. If I am a music director, give me Sonu or Udit for sad, slow songs but give me Udit only for Fast, fun, jolly, romantic songs.

Well they certainly know a lot more about music than you or any average listener and they have greater knowledge on singers capabilities since they've worked with so many artists. Just because they aren't in ARR's laegue doesnt mean that we should fail to appreciate their contributions to music. Anu's albums for Refugee, Border, Saaya, Asoka, among many others were works of enviable art.. likewise Himesh created a different flavour of music never seen before in hindi cinema. Shaan sings well too
I wouldnt talk about knowing "nothing about music" as you seemed to think curves and twists were something that artists added to make up for their "lack of true voice" :S haha.. I'm pretty sure nusrat fateh ali khan and others added harkats to songs to accentuate the emotions better.. your theory doesnt make sense. And of course Hrithik is a great actor.. certainly not the best but better than most - not to mention he's smokin hot and dances incredibly well.
Both Udit and Sonu are great singers, but if I would want to listen to a real male voice, I listen to Udit. Purely on the basis of voice, not technique and style, Sonu falls (along with Usha Uthup, Bappi Lahiri, etc.) in a spectrum which is neither male nor female. LOL.

sonu has incredible range, and rang de basanti is not his most difficult song..songs like kismat se tum, rabba mere rabba, tanhayee, bawri piya, tera jadoo chal gaya, sun zara, yaar mangyasi, and zindagi maut are among his best.. rang de is one of them but I think these other songs highlight his range better. try isolating udit's voice from the orchestra in this vid and you realize there isnt very much melody in his voice but sonu sings beautifully without background music.. thats the difference

once u said kumar cant sung 'mubarak ho tum ko"but brother this song is not a hard song to sing.sedha sa song hai...kumar sanu also sung a song 'zindagi ko bina pyar" frm this movie which was also easy.even a good singer cant sing all the songs if u r not agree then think how udit or kumar or sonu sing the punjabi naseebo lal song"manji thallay dang pher da"lolz

there are a lot of films in which kumar sung all songs but a single song was sung by udit.....
e.g. kub main ne ye socha tha from duplicate.
mera dil tere liye from aashiqi etc.
yar listen to the songs of LAGAAN,SWADES,TERE NAAM,KIUN KI.
listen to the expressions,is this not enough,the choice is yours........

@zubairudit yes!there r lots of films in which kumar sanu sung all the songs.dear these all songs were the smash hits... in those films udit song was not good enough in front of kumar sanu....udit naryan is olny because he has sung srk songs more then kumar sanu...
there r films in which udit has sung more then 2 songs & sanu sang 1 but kumar sanu again rocks in there films !! eg,movie name:(ajnabee) udit sang 3 songs but sanu only 1(mere zindgai mein ajnabi) which was the super dooper hit...

paying tribute to a legend doesnt mean copying and Sonu Nigam is a fantastic singer. One of the most versatile Singer India has ever produces. I respect Udit Narayan too his voice has originality in it and it makes people happy but i dont see any reason to hate on Sonu Nigam

I don't consider Sonu's songs like dil vich lagya ve as "fast" either..but I do love his vocals in it, esp in the last 15 secs: /watch?v=EYNmGC7VKbM. You're going off topic with clothes and singing English.. I think its great that Sonu can sing western songs too and his dressing style is a freedom.. he dresses how he wants to, not how people think he should. If he feels like going casual on stage in jeans, big deal. He dances for fun - again whats the big deal? Its singing that should matter

The fact that Sonu does sing "Fast" songs and sing English songs doesnt mean he sings them very well. Every singer deems him/herself to be very verstaile whereas it only holds true for 1 or 2 singers. If I am a music director, give me Sonu or Udit for sad, slow songs but give me Udit only for Fast, fun, jolly, romantic songs.

I agree that Ashaji did mention in an interview that she did appreciate Sonu but she did not consider the only good singer. She did mention Udit as being one of her favorite male singers.

Well they certainly know a lot more about music than you or any average listener and they have greater knowledge on singers capabilities since they've worked with so many artists. Just because they aren't in ARR's laegue doesnt mean that we should fail to appreciate their contributions to music. Anu's albums for Refugee, Border, Saaya, Asoka, among many others were works of enviable art.. likewise Himesh created a different flavour of music never seen before in hindi cinema. Shaan sings well too

I wouldnt talk about knowing "nothing about music" as you seemed to think curves and twists were something that artists added to make up for their "lack of true voice" :S haha.. I'm pretty sure nusrat fateh ali khan and others added harkats to songs to accentuate the emotions better.. your theory doesnt make sense. And of course Hrithik is a great actor.. certainly not the best but better than most - not to mention he's smokin hot and dances incredibly well.

Both Udit and Sonu are great singers, but if I would want to listen to a real male voice, I listen to Udit. Purely on the basis of voice, not technique and style, Sonu falls (along with Usha Uthup, Bappi Lahiri, etc.) in a spectrum which is neither male nor female. LOL.

sonu has incredible range, and rang de basanti is not his most difficult song..songs like kismat se tum, rabba mere rabba, tanhayee, bawri piya, tera jadoo chal gaya, sun zara, yaar mangyasi, and zindagi maut are among his best.. rang de is one of them but I think these other songs highlight his range better. try isolating udit's voice from the orchestra in this vid and you realize there isnt very much melody in his voice but sonu sings beautifully without background music.. thats the difference
