Well, Issue 2 voted out. This proves that there are still a lot of dumb people in the state. It's not the left or right I worry about, It's CEO or Operation Manager of a small business that I worry about. It is what they think or do. If they say Ohio is not worth staying, they by by jobs. Thanks liberals for making other states with solid budgets look at lot better then Ohio. Kasch, stop trying to save and/or make jobs in Ohio. Evey time you do this, you'll be blasted by the liberal Dem's.
if ur concerned about shared payments then make that part of ur negotiation... but to say we wanna take away ur negotiating representation thats just unfair!!!! the right has a way of clouding the issue .... this is just an attack on organized labor pure and simple.... keep in mind the issue is not shared payments and all he was talking about... it was they wanna illiminate collective bargaining ....and then they can install whatever system suits them
I am PISSED OFF that issue 2 failed. Oh well on the plus side time to FIRE BAD teachers. Aw BOO - FUCKING - HOO. Budget cuts must be made so...YOU FIRST BITCH.
No one seems to be asking the RICH corporations to pay their FAIR SHARE.......everything coming out of Washington seems to take more money out of struggling WORKING middle class Americans and giving more money to US Corporations via BAILOUTS and TAX DECREASES!!! W T F!!!!????
@NothingSpecialMusic1 1st principles...one must KNOCK the coin out of the conservative greedheads' paw. the conservative wants all the amenities of a 1st world country, but does not want to pay for it
@kennny732 It's the liberals who don't want to pay for anything.... You seem a bit confused. This bill WAS going to help lessen the deficit in Ohio, but due to the LIBERALS who couldn't deal with giving up a few dollars for the greater good, it was killed. Too many woefully ignorant people who are unfortunately able to vote.
@NothingSpecialMusic1 OH boy here we go...OF COURSE THEY DO. If someone makes $100 MILLION dollars and they pay 10% OF COURSE they are going to pay more taxes than someone making $40,000 paying the SAME 10%..The only difference is that the person making $40k is taking a greater hit from their pay than the person making $100 MILLION. This is the thing people say all the time of course they pay more taxes, they make WAYY more!!! DUHHH! BUT they are not paying what they SHOULD be paying!!!
@ranmas2004 And why SHOULD they be paying more? Trust me pal, I'm not rich. I'm a college student, one of the furthest things from it. But I'm busting my ass here to get a good job, and IF I do succeed, I don't want to give all of my money to the government. I have no problem supporting the military or helping the NEEDY (not the lazy), but if I'm giving my money, I want to control where it goes. Yeah, people SHOULD give to the less fortunate, but that's their perogative.
It amazes me that our Governor (who, apparently only wants to serve one term in office) wants people, who often and quite literally can be the only thing keeping someone from dying, to sacrifice even more than they already do in their chosen profession!! Really, Gov? Are u THAT stupid?!
there are thousands of republicans who are state workers who are being thrown under the bus here.they won't vote for this crap.they are not criminals.tea party is done.
achtun heir Kasich maybe we can herd all those public employees into ghettos. and further strip them of more human rights. you can dictate away all there benifits and working condisions. why stop there the whole middle class has benifits union or not. get all there pensions med insurance and paid time off. bring employers to the state and tell them slave labor take your pick. HEIL KASICH HEIL KASICH
It doesn't take a bill over 300 pages to say state workers should pay 10% towards their Pension and 15% towards their Health Care and according to Gov. Kasich most state workers already pay this. IF that's all SB5 now Issue 2 was about none of this uproar would have happened. Issue 2 is about workers rights. If history does infact repeat itself maybe we should take a look at the conditions before workers had a voice to see what kinds of abuse we can expect. I Voted early, NO on Issue 2
It saddens me when supporters of this bill say the middle class is being crushed and public employees should pay. Public employees ARE middle class, pay taxes, WORK for a living, provide necessary services,we DO pay into our pension (and it isn't 0% like Gov Kasich says), we have taken pay cuts and put more into our pension ALREADY and WILLINGLY under the current law. We are being impacted like ALL middle class people. They will come after private sector next! VOTE NO ON ISSUE 2
@johnp1593 In the school district which I reside, the average teacher salary (notice I said teachers not administrators or other staff) is over $81,000 a year plus benefits. This by most people's definition would be upper middle class. Teachers pay needs to be lowered to that of private schools so the real middle class such as myself doesn't have to pay over $3600 a year in property taxes on a $89K house.
@skinny3715 And once they leave (I won't go to West Virginia...I'll go to New England), where will that leave Ohio? All the good teachers leave for states were they are allowed a voice in the work place...along with Police and Fire Fighters..where does that put YOU? In a state where education and safety isn't important. NO to issue 2.
@baritonebynight Oh quit being over dramatic and we if you want to leave the door is always open. The actual problem at least for you is that it will be a domino affect. Once you lose one state the rest will follow suit because they are all broke. So then where will you go maybe Mexico. The problem is not good teachers but overpaid bad teachers that cant be fired and your benefits packages. Oh I work 9 months get 10 holidays 15 sick days vacation pay and guaranteed pension. boo hoo poor me cya
@baritonebynight If Issue 2 goes down in flames the state of Ohio will soon follow since the people can no longer afford compensation packages that no private sector firm could come close to providing. Companies and people are leaving Ohio for states that have less taxes, less regulation, and right to work laws implemented. Kasich is doing his all to make Ohio more tax friendly to businesses and residents yet overpaid greedy individuals such as yourself don't need to go away mad just go away.
@baritonebynight Last time I checked the Bush tax cuts cut taxes for all taxpayers. Corporate greed has existed long before the "mess" ever occurred. Besides, the "wealthy" you seem to love to hate so much are, if we define them as the top 10%, already pay almost 71% of all federal tax revenue and are the ones who create jobs. The bottom 48% pay no federal taxes and take the jobs. When was the last time a poor person created a job?
@baritonebynight The name calling and juvenile behavior only proves me right. You are in fact a labor union troll. Then again you might actually be a teacher since most of them behave the same way as the most unruly kid in the school.
@baritonebynight As long as you keep drinking tap water you're already doing that to yourself but that's getting off the subject. I understand you're obsessed with cock and based on your rants you haven't seen cock in decades. You're too old and blown out for me even if I put a bag over your head.
@madhatter0110 Not sure what standing up for education, safety and the middle class have to do with a male chicken, but you haven't made any sence yet....why start now?
@baritonebynight I'm the one standing up for education, safety, and middle class. You're standing up for incompetent teacher and union thug protection, layoffs, and only for public workers at the expense of the middle class who pays your bloated salaries and benefits. Public education has miserably failed us and your horrendous spelling, koch instead of cock and sence instead of sense, is proof that it's time we the people remove teachers and unions' voices and take our schools back.
@madhatter0110 In issues of public safety, I trust the fire fighters and police officers. In matters of education, I trust professional educators. You trust the people who don't do these jobs and somehow know better? Teachers, fire fighters, nurses, police officers, librarians help people. The Koch brothers ship jobs to china and make more money for themselves...and these are the people you trust with public safety and education intead of the people who are highly trained to do these hard jobs?
@baritonebynight Highly trained? You don't even know how to spell sense--you spell it sence instead of sense. I do not advocate the elimination of teachers, just union ones. I do not advocate the elimination of education, just public education. Issue 2 is the perfect step in the right direction to purge our state of incompetent teachers and the few good ones in unions can succeed and have more freedom in their curriculum in private schools.
@madhatter0110 Genius, look- Koch is the name of the brothers who control many public entities that are failing miserably and making them both very rich. Spelling? what an idiot.
@pipersmitty87 So now the anti-corporate left wing conspiracy theorists are being brought in to aid the trolls paid by unions to spew more lies. The Koch brothers work harder than any entitlement driven individuals or groups and are making the world a much better place. Just because have money they EARNED and you want it doesn't make them evil and doesn't justify union corruption and racketeering while throwing the taxpayers under the bus.
@madhatter0110 You're a fool! Teachers, police officers, fire fighters, librarians, nurses make the world a better place. They also have very difficult jobs and deserve to have ownership in what they do. The billionaire Koch brothers are making the world a more dirty place in terms of pollution, a more poor place by shipping jobs overseas, and a more corrupt place by buying politicians like Kasich and Walker. The union negiotiates. Kochs DICTATE. What you're asking has a TERRIBLE PRICE.
@baritonebynight Unions dictate because the taxpayer does not have a seat at the negotiating table (that will hopefully change Nov 8 when Issue 2 passes) and in theory teachers, police officers, etc. make the world a better place but unionized ones make it a worse place in practice. The silver lining is non-union private school teachers. Since when were nurses public workers? The vast majority of hospitals are private and therefore Issue 2 will not affect nurses in the private sector. Idiot.
@pipersmitty87 With your juvenile intellect and vocabulary it is obvious you are a paid union troll. There is no way you could hold a respectable career through any avenue other than a union protecting your incompetence.
@baritonebynight It may seem like a paradox to you but how is it that private schools attract higher quality teachers yet private schools can't pay anywhere near what public schools do? Any teacher who puts their paycheck before their students or taxpayers needs to leave not just Ohio but leave the country. Teachers and ANY public employee needs to answer to only one group of people--the taxpayers who pay for their bloated compensation packages. Voice away from teachers back to the taxpayers.
@skinny3715 hey how about we rent a bus and can put all the public union workers on a one way trip to West Virginia with a big sign on the side that says WE GET RESPECT JUST NOT IN OHIO!!!!
Nice spin. The ads for this attrocity of a law make it seem like it's about paying part of the health care and pension-=-but what this law is REALLY about is making it illegal for government workers to negotiate their contracts collectively, In other words, it attacks the ability to unionize.
The unions offered to pay into the pension and health care, and Kasich told them if they weren;t on his bus he'd run them over with it., Who's getting run over now, Gubnah?
