Lol only a red neck cams a 305 . No doubt it's a nice truck. Bang for your buck get a 350 cheaper then what you paid for the chrome kit and exhaust system.
@DBags501 Not a redneck buddy, i duno if ya could build a 350 for 250 bucks either, thats all i payed for pipes, and never put no crome on it, came like it. 305 dosent work to bad, way easyer on gas, and still can cut circles like crazy
Very nice. I have one similar. What is the duration and lift of your cam? I'm considering getting one soon would you recomend your cam? I'm also just instaling headers, how did you get around the ac bracket without messing with your steering pump?

hey man, this is a sweet truck ! !, i myself have an 84 sierra, shortbox, 305. these trucks are badass. im 16 so its my first truck, got it for $800, shes in progress, will be finished summer 2011, cant wait ! trucks like yours inspire me to finish mine.
what are the cam specs? and did you have to put new springs and lifter in with it, also what are you running for an exhaust sounds like a straight pipe with cherry bomb
@TheCoby420 3/4 cam shaft, around 274 i think, not to sure of it that was a couple months ago now, and yes, it has everything new down to the valves them self, yeah red hot glasspacks
i just bought just like it 84 short bed dark blue with the 305 will rebuild engine in a few months

I bought a 1984 GMC 2 weeks ago.
Has headers, and the original "Quadrajunk" 4 barrel carb.
I bought a holly 600 today to replace the failing original..., man the egine doesnt smoke, and the body is in decent shape.
Found the truck of my dreams, gonna turn it into a fire breathing monster!

when you put that cam in did you have to put diffrent springs in, did you have to change anything or did you just throw er in.

@TheCoby420 put the cam, and lifters, pushrods, rockers, springs and valve seals, ya dont gotta tho, just cam and lifters usualy does the trick
