  • 1:16 - i think it's sylvester mccoy. lol.

  • Delgado and Pertwee: Such fine actors and great chemistry. They'll never be beaten.

  • This is SOOOO Much better written, Realised, acted, Scored, etc than that new Soap shite that uses the Title for BBC's Profit.

REAL Sci-Fi. The Classics will NEVER be beaten. Not unless they completely BURNED All the new crap, & Sent it's ashes into space, & Started again with REAL actors (not students), REAL FX (not CGI), Inspired Writting (Not a Checklist of Trite & Tropes), Creative Pioneered Music (Not dull insipid Star Trek imitation), Real Companionship (Not just a Fuck Buddy) ETC.

  • @therealKINDLE the one major thing which needs to be improved which they are doing now but stil haven't fully done, is the writing, with the RTD era thats when all your complaints where best used for. The Soapy drama, the Craptastic CGi, the Actors acting like immature idiots with corny jokes that not even little kids find amusing. With moffat i think there is better plots not just an average B grade storyline but a strong story with A grade mystery. I love the Classic seires better too.

  • @Smallvillenerd You only say that because you cannot let go of your childhood. As somebody who did not grow up with the classics, I can see them for what they truly are. Fantastic, but by no means worse than the New Series. The writing is (if anything) better, the CGI 100% superior over models, the acting superb and jokes as funny as ever. And RTD is cool. What people seem to forget is that it is aimed for kids. Just open your mind a little. :)

  • @mattyCox2 Writing better? no way in hell you can not call yourself a fan just probs a fan of the RTD era. RTD is not a good writer for doctor who. He tries melodramamtic over mystery and with Moffat you feel that he is (and does) break the boundaries of dr who and change things for the better. RTD takes it safe. It's not just a kid's show and you see alot of us here aren't kids. BTW srsly writing better? The writing is shit!

  • @Smallvillenerd I am a huge fan of both the classic and the new series. I just can't stand people who give biased and one-sided arguments against the new series, yet no-one can argue against the classics or we will be lynched. If RTD had done his stuff in the classic series we would all be worshiping him. I find in the classic series the writing was at times very unclear and the dialogue wooden. And what people forget is that the (official) worst stories of all time are in the classic series.

  • @mattyCox2 hmmmm official worse? watch Partners in Crime, Planet of the Ood, Smith and Jones, the Runaway Bride, Fear Her, the Long Game and Boom town. Then tell me that the old series had the more of the bad episodes you cock!

  • @Smallvillenerd Timelash, The Twin Dilemma, Warriors' Gate, Time and the Rani, The Dominators, The Mutants, Underworld, The Underwater Menace, Silver Nemesis, Warriors of the Deep, The Space Pirates to name a few. And those episodes you named are not the official worst. I agree that Fear Her was dreadful, but the rest were pretty good. And you name me one bad actor in the new series.

  • @mattyCox2 You retard Space Pirates and Underwater menace can't count for they are lost! Of course you're gonna come up with some lame excuse just to hate on the old series more, it is far superior! So basically that's 9 out of 155 episodes that were "Bad" Oh what's that? Silver Nemesis isn't bad (thats 8), neither Dominators or the Mutants and Timelash is okay! so that's now what, 5 out of 155, Yeah the old series was full of bad episodes!

  • @Smallvillenerd I think you'll find that Underwater Menace and Space Pirates can be seen via audio and recons. And for the thousandth time i DO NOT hate the classic series, i'm saying that they are just as bad as eachother. And as I said I named a few bad stories. There are loads more I could mention. And it's just popular opinion that those stories are bad . You are a bigoted idiot who from what I can see nobody has a good thing to say about you. Stop being such an asshole.

  • @mattyCox2 And i see you have nothing good to say about the old series! And "As bad as each other" Dr Who is never bad, (Only the RTd episodes!) so obviously YOU ARE NOT A TRUE FAN OF DR WHO SO STOP DEFENDING THE RTD SERIES COZ IT SUCKED SHIT AND THE CLASSIC IS FAR SUPERIOR! bitch.

  • @Smallvillenerd And one more thing. In a recent fan poll (in DWM) to find which episodes fans thought were best out of 200, only 4 new series stories were in the bottom 50.

  • @mattyCox2 stop bullshitting Matty cocks, either that or the majortiy hadn't seen the old series, probs mainly RTD worshippers like youself Mr cocks!

  • @Smallvillenerd What like most people? Just because your not a RTD fan dont just assume nobody else is. And my name isn't "Mr Cocks". And I bet most of DWM's readership is made up of people who have seen the classic series. Otherwise they'd not buy it. If you cant appreciate good work like the rest of us I'd rather you keep your nasty opinions to yourself. I'm not even gonna bother replying to you anymore as your not worth my time. So you keep living your life like you are and see how u get on.

  • @mattyCox2 it's not my fault i'm a true fan and i'm trying to protect the old series for it is unfair for anyone to bag it's effects and acting, it wasn't made for a modern audience and for its' time it wasn't going to get released. You said that Dr Who wasn't a sci fi just like RTd and you said: "Star Trek is true sci fi" so is dr who, what because it isn't completely set in space and doens't have ultra techno babble? oh wait it does but you probs haven't seen it!

  • @mattyCox2 did Mr Cocks rage quit?

  • @Smallvillenerd I never said the old series was bad I just gave my reasons for thinking the new series was better. You dont even know what "just as bad as eachother" means so you are a bigger idiot than I thought you were. DW has always been a mix of different genres it has never been 100% sci-fi. And if I didnt like the old series why would I be watching a clip of it? You are a biased middle aged retard and I would be surprised if you have any friends. Seriously you need to sort out your life.

  • @mattyCox2 Maybe you'd be watching this clip to bag the old series and point out its: Bad Acting and Effects which isn't very fair at all. Me and Mr the realKINDLE were just having a nice tlak about Old dr who and then you come and talk all this bullshit like RTD era was better written (Really?) and the CGi is alot better (Are you shitting me?) Sure the Moffat era is Great but the RTD era was just melodramatic safe dr who. Th Moffat one is taking risks and ditching the rules of Dr Who = Better

  • @Smallvillenerd Look i'm sick of this now - I like the new series and you don't. All I did was I politely suggested that you give the new series a chance and then you go all ape-shit on me. I do really like the classics, but they have a few shortcomings which I think the new series has fixed. Lets just leave it at that.

  • @mattyCox2 how abotu they're both good. the end!

  • @Smallvillenerd I respect your defence for the classic series- Doctor Who would be a wreck without it's history and what it's layed down from the very begining will always live on forever and ever on television.

What I must disagree with is Steven Moffat. I'm afraid he's let me down big time from "A Good Man Goes To War" I think he's been up his own ass this entire time since 2009.I believed in Steven and fought off haters... but man he's let myself and probably Matt Smith down

  • @therealKINDLE And why can't we have the classic format with one adventure spanning for 4 25 minute parts or 6 25 minute parts, its shorter but i like it better.

  • @Smallvillenerd That format became dated even in the 1970's.

  • @mattyCox2 For the RTD worshipper it did!

  • @Smallvillenerd That's not just my opinion asshole, it's what even the production team says. Tom Baker worshipper!!

  • @mattyCox2 Actually Tom Baker isn't my fave, he's overrated in my opinion. I like Peter Davison, Jon Pertwee, Matt Smith, Patrick Troughton and Sylvester McCoy

  • Oooo small lil guy on a thrown spontaniously coming out from a wall. 0:31

  • this was the first entire episode I saw in the 70's. But It all seems so strange.

  • Well who knew the self destruct switch was THERE all along!

  • Roger Delgado, what a master he was, back when Doctor Who had solid storylines and great acting, not like now with it's rubbish camp overacting and storylines.

I waited decades wishing for Doctor Who to come back, and the BBC have ruined it. I should have known, really Doctor Who died with Tom Baker's leaving, he was the last great doctor.

  • I'm proud to be an American, a REAL American, one who doesn't have to attempt to trample upon those of other nationalities in order to "prove" my nonexistent superiority.

  • I like your style, the Master can learn from you!

  • And that feeling would be any different when you are another nationality because???

    Beside this is british...

  • I know, I was referring to Amerikaner25's behavior and trying to delay the reinforcement of the negative stereotype of the American citizen.

  • Allah bless america?

  • "In God We Trust"

  • @Lampgreen Thats interesting. I know of no nationality that has not tramples another at some point in its past. That is like saying your humanity is superior to all others, and you have just gotten through telling how you dont need to prove your non-existent superiority?

  • @Lampgreen ??

  • F**KING COMMERCIAL!!!!!

  • Yep, too many mushrooms for breakfast!

  • was that an SAS demolition at the end? ;-)

  • nope

  • Classic DR WHO ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ahahaha .. fixer

  • well its true, i love americans. what have they done to u. u are one though lol

    no offence

  • Amerikaner, you are so sad.

  • Don't feed the trolls.

  • go and boil your bottom, son of a silly person. I blow my nose at you, you kenigget. I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough whopper! I fart in your general direction! You mother was a hamster and your father smelt of eldeberries.

  • lol that's actually pretty funny. to be honest, couldn't really watch monty python with all the screaming and the 1920's humor

  • "What a strange person!"

  • you really are a knob, aren't you?

  • me, a knob? I'm just giving Amerikaner25 a good taunt to teach him a lesson--never mess with the brits. We know the best insults, thanks to monty python. He's got to be exterminated for insulting one of the greatest shows on the planet.

  • no no, not you, harrietamidala 1691, I was, in fact , directing that comment towards Amerikaner25 himself, the comment was supposed to be in reply to his. My apologies for any offence I might have inadvertantly caused. I must say I am quite a fanatic myself.

  • I'm glad I'm not the know. God I wish I was a dalek--I really want to exterminate Amerikaner25! Let's do some british taunting, courtesy of Monty Python.

  • lol

  • @Amerikaner25 What is the point of commenting if you're going to say something stupid? Doctor Who is the best programe in the WORLD so there it beets any other programe by miles!!! So burn in hell gay boy!!! Well that went well.

  • @Amerikaner25 This is Doctor Who, and if you knew a fraction of how good it is, you wouldn't act like it's anything less than one of the best shows on television.

  • @Kate23795 That's really funny coming from a John Barrowman fan since he's usually out-acted by everyone he shares the screen with, or if he's alone by his own coat.

  • @Kate23795 So basically if a show has wooden acting and terribly cliched stories yet it has a big budget, explosions and CGi that makes it better then a show with Stron characters and Flawless plots? you're pathetic!

  • @Smallvillenerd As our lord Robert Holmes once said, "On Dr Who, we always use original ideas. But not necessarily our own original ideas." And since when does CGI mean "bad"?

  • @mattyCox2 yes coz it's lazy and it shows no signs of effort unless you really need it, CGi shouldn't be used. Our lord whoever once said: "It's better when there is actually somehting infront of the camera". Then you also said they wwere bad actors, you are definantly not a dr who fan bagging the old ones which are far superior then the RTD era

  • @Smallvillenerd And how the fuck is CGI lazy?! Do you know how hard it is? And I don't know where you got the idea that it is overused because it isn't. Like I said before, I am a huge fan of all of Dr Who, it's just that I find the new series to be slightly better and I get annoyed when people slam them irrationally. There are some truly dreadful classic episodes and only a handful of bad in the new series. I really don't get the hate.

  • @mattyCox2 how the fuck is CGi NOT lazy? and only a "Handful" of bad ones? The RTD era was really bad. The Moffat ones were the best and stood out of the seasons like Blink and the "Where's my mummy?" one, thats what people talk about if they saw like one episode of Dr Who usually its the better ones. But yeah you probably like the melodramatic unoriginal RTd crap and probably hate the Old serie seven htough it is truely SCI-FI! BTW nice name, Matty Cocks!

  • @Smallvillenerd Now you've really riled me. I agree that Moffat wrote some really good ones but RTD also wrote such gems as "Gridlock" "The Parting of the Ways" "Midnight" "Utopia" "Turn Left" and "The Christmas Invasion". Real fans (i.e. not people like you who only like select bits) appreciate RTD's work and look back in fondness. And DW was never "true" sci-fi. If you want that shit go and watch star trek or something. Let go of your childhood dickhead and try and not be so bigoted.

  • @mattyCox2 Yes RTD has wrote some actuallly pretty aweosme epsidoes like the season 1 finale and "Waters of Mars" (Co-wrote that one), Midnight and Gridlock but most of the others he wrote were just utter shit! The epsidoes that stick out and are the most memorable are Moffat's ones. BTW Dr Who WAS true sci-fi if you saw and this clip, idiot but the new seires which you fond over so much is just drama shit. (Not Moffat era) In fact one scene of an RTD epsidoe was cut for being too melodramatic.

  • Classic. Doctor Who is thr greatest sci-fi programme ever, and Im not reffereing to the new or old series but both, as being part of one great show, the way it should be

  • It looked pretty good, better than I expected actually. I still prefer the new Doctor Who, but I'd like to see some of the classic series.

  • The definitive Master and Doctor!

  • that explosion was pretty good considering it was only the 70's or when ever it was filmed!

  • Release Colony in Space on DVD !
