I'm a Trance person... more recently I'm into all sorts of electronic music - although, the one genre I've always relegated to the position the scum of electronic music - is dubstep. I must say I was sucessfully brainwashed by the immense populous of wanna be - producers, that dubstep was a genre with little to no musical value. I was wrong.

sorry my friends...but if you're from europe, make music, and call it dubstep... then it is by, regional laws, dubstep. people say this isn't dubstep. dubstep comes from Europe...they created it. They alone have the say over what they consider dubstep to be and what it isnt. Since this is the case, everyone who isnt European has to...and well... follow suit

This is not dubstep. Call it whatever you want, and it certainly isn't bad, but it is in no way, shape or form is dubstep.

A genre of music is subjective, not objective, and since the vast majority of people think that dubstep is purely Skrillex and Butch Clancy, that's because what the genre is defined as. This doesn't have any of the elements of those more well known songs, so regardless of whether or not they're any good, they are the forefront of the genre, and the comparative for all other songs. By your definition, all a song needs to be dubstep is a syncopated bass.

@firemblemrules9 Well good sir, the majority doesn't really have any idea what dubstep is. Skrillex and others are like electro with house and dubstep elements. Not necessarily dubstep. They're almost a sub genre of dubstep but they morphed the sound so much it became entirely different. I can assure you though this is definitely dubstep. True dubstep is all about the subs. This american "brostep" is all about grimey robotic mids. Check out Skream or The Widdler 4 good dubstep.

bear in mind that dubstep has been around for years, and is a fusion of Dub en Garage (2-step) and with all respect, skrillex is neither dub or 2step influenced.

o yeh 90's jungle/dnb is just superior end of. limited sounds though... wish dnb was made in that way still with hardware but with updated sounds somehow - you cant beat a jungle beat. Unfortunately most people can't see the technicalities that go in to it. Too many closed minds... too many 15 year olds followin the crowd, the UK is terrible at the moment... baitstep is like a rampant tumor it needs to be stopped
