  • Symphony har åtyminstone en stockholmare som skeppare.

  • Helihoperi ruotsallasia! FAN! Svenskar måste alltid rädda alla.

  • Vilka sopor-

  • "I looks good for the helicopter" at 25m/s winds? Holy crap.

  • I wonder if Silja Europe and Mariella actually floated over some people, that must have been horrible death for them if it happened..

  • @jaagupcool6 I don't think they did, if they did it would have turned up on the investigation. But who knows :/

  • where is part six ?

  • Part 6 is off limits, why is that? Not fair as we Finns had an active role in the rescue operation!

  • Gladnicke, Can you upload the mayday call part 6 again, with maybe different video material so we here in Finland could watch it as well.

Voisitko upata uudelleen ton mayday call part 6 , vaikka vaan pelkkä ääniraita, että me Suomalaiset voitas katsoa se :)

  • Who cried listening to this ?

    I know I did......

To all sailors and passengers May you have calm seas, following winds and safe passage.

The sea giveth and she taketh away. Always respect the sea.

Thanks for uploading this. I appreciate it. :o)

  • FINNISH PEOPLE AND OTHERS CAN NOT WATCH THE PART 6 WHY?

  • can you please put up the part 6 we can't watch it:S

  • download the part 6 again! (:

  • Thank you very much for this fascinating but tragic source.

Do you know who is speaking here? Are they radio operators, officers or the captains themselves?

May I ask where you got the radio tapes from?

  • part 6 dosn't work!!

  • can't watch the last part, because of some fucking copyright issus with sony!

is it possible to change that?

  • WHY the last part was blocked by Sony Music Entertainment? Do they really have copyrights?

  • I've stayed in a cabin with no windows, its hard to find your way in/out when you arrive. i dread to think in an emergency. may this never happen again

  • R.I.P fyfan vad hemskt :´(

  • jännä juttu, et kaikki puhuu ruotsii

  • kohutavalt kahju

  • This happened so quickly, that so many people were trapped in their cabins with no chances to survive. When the divers found the wreck, 94 bodies were already found. Divers found 100 more and 757 are still missing. Captains earn all respect. The man who telled the position on Estonia was first mate Andres Tammes.

  • Kutonen takas tänne!!

  • Helvetin tökeröä toimintaa part 6:ssa "sony entertainmentin omaisuutta" Ohan sitä ennenkin kuunneltu, KISS MY ASS SONY!

  • Hi, can you upload the next part again, Sony with some copyright issues...

Mitä v****a? Kiitos gladnickelle hyvistä posteista ja fcuk you Sonylle.

  • Vila i frid.

  • Damn it look like a prefect rescue mission, I can't believe they only managed to save 137 people :(, 3 boats with lifeboats and 3 helicopters .. very sad result, RIP

  • @eQuabLeX Estonia sank very very fast. Also the weather was bad.

  • Heroes, all of them.

  • In 1980-1990 MS Estonia was in the service of Viking Lines -company and was called Viking Sally. At that time I was about 7-10 years old and our family ofted visited Sweden and there our cousins. I remember being on board Viking Sally. It was nice ship...Just yesterday I came back from Christmas cruising on Viking Lines ship Gabriella. On the way back we hit storm and the wind was 25m/s. I coulnd't sleep in that rocking of ship. I remembered Estonia and was little scared. But all went well.

  • lol samat kaiffarit näyttellee tätä hommaa, kummiskin totuus on tiedossa mitä tapahtui.

  • Haista sinä vittu mokomine salaliittoteorioines. Tässä ei sentään ole mitään näytelty. Kaveri on kattonu liikaa sakemannien baltic stormia. Kova luotto on mulkerolla omaan valtioon

  • No kyllä kai.

English, When Silja Europa and Mariella talking now.

How many minutes or hours, it is then when the Estonia sank? Thus, approximately.

Eloge t Mariella. In English, they didn't have a chanse, their mindset was on "not -sinking" but you could have stronger demand on Helsinki radio.

  • 20-30min

  • Some of the whole subtiltes are lowsy! ..if you don't understand all english, finnish & swedish, you will loose a lot..

  • Everything happened much faster than you think. Some people on Estonia tried to unfasten the life boats, but the staff was all commanded to the lower levels of the ship to help people out, so no one was there to unlock the life boats.

If Mariella and Europa had released their life boats (not just rafts), they might have smashed and killed even more people. And as someone said, most people died inside the ship.

These people who helped did the best they could under the circumstances!

  • "Coastguard just lies they come in a min no heli is avail"

Cpt in boat maybe just doest know, they wait like we wait in uto 4 hr...1st heli is swedish... fin army has one mobile heli in this situation.

  • Not True.

Finnish coast guard OH-HVG (Super Puma) saved 44 lives

Finnish coast guard OH-HYD (Agusta Bell 4I2) saved 7 lives

3 Finnish army MI-8 arrived in the morning and discovered only bodies.

First rescue chopper was the coastguard Super Puma, and remained the only chopper on scene for an hour, as explained on MS estonia's survivor's story part 5 at 1:08

  • My Dads friends where on that ship that night my dad had some work to do in US so he didnt went with them...

Kiitokset kapteeni Hans Modigille.

  • Dont forget Jan Thore Thörnroos, he arrive first to Estonia with M/s Mariella, and hes boat take care of more people than Silja Europa.

    Jan Thore Thörnroos

    Esa Mäkela

They was the real heroes that night!

  • If you have been in Jan Thore or Esa Mäkela's clothes, what should you do that horrible night?, i don't think you should do that better than them!

  • you missed my point dude.

  • No i dont..

  • its no i didnt and yes you did missed my point, im not saying that silja didnt good job i was saying that it is horrible to talk who saved more lives if 900 died and only 150 and so got saved. peace.

  • Estonia sunk fast, and there was no time for evacuate people. Which one is better?

900 died and 150 survived, or 1000 dead and no survivals. If there wouldnt be any ships helping, there wont be anyone to tell how Estonia sunk.

  • Matu1:

Better to save the 150 people they still had a chance to save rather than to be ignorant and leave them all to die, don't you think?

  • Omg what the fuck is wrong with you people??? you have brains or what???Yes it is better to save all those 150 people, i guess i have to repeat myself, I was saying that i was sick watching some argue here wich ship saved more if so many died and the point is all ships who saved people all they should be equally respected, some just was closer to bigger group and other not. so who still didnt understand then fuck you and have a nice day, im done here.

  • @EmEck93 don't turn this thing into some sort of competition about who saved more people than other

  • @Symppisfani totta

  • @Symppisfani

nimi kyllä väärin mutta hyvä kippari silti.

  • @Symppisfani Täytyy yhtyä tuohon, ei ois voinu hoitaa enää paremmin tossa tilanteessa

  • I saw the subtitle text: "hole conferencecenter has been prepared" but I think you ment "whole" not "hole". whole=all hole=leakage. Besides thank you for posting this intersting video!

  • I heard about the disaster on German TV RTL a few years later and I remember them talking about some bomb or something.

  • FYFAn jag tycker det är så äkligt!

  • kaikki kunnia miehelle, joka on koko sarjan tänne laittanu. Peukkuja sulle, oot kansan asiallla

  • Tapio Kuosma: M/S Estonia upotettiin?

  • Thank you so much for uploading this. :)

  • Mistranslation. It should be life rafts, not life boats.

  • situation for which they were created..

  • what use do any of the lifeboats have on the ships if they cant be used in a storm, a storm is usually a situation they were created.

well it was 14 years ago so im not complaining and i wasnt there........

  • I was awake, when the whole disaster happened, and I myself was in shock at age 9. Who was prepared for this kind of an accident? Raise your hands!

  • lifeboats are ofcourse designed to use in storm, but the thing is that there is always risk involved when putting down lifeboats in rough conditions. And when you're trying to save people you must also think of your own safety, and it would have been VERY risky to launch lifeboats in that weather. Thats why Mariellas captain decided to put unmaned liferafts in the sea which people then could climb on to and wait for the helis to arrive. It's not wise to risk more lifes during the rescueoperation

  • thats what normal logic says. but when a situation comes where you might need lifeboats the it could mean that its a life threatening emergency. because of that the boats and the delivery system for lifeboats should be sophisticated enough for all stormy situations. if the lifeboats arent good enough, then you need to buy boats that are good enough and spend 100000e more per boat for example for it to be sea worthy.the baltic sea isnt the atlantic so mariellas equipment shouldnt be like titanics

  • what do u want to say with your titanic comparing?

  • well, ofcourse Mariella (as all the other ships cruising the Baltic sea) had sophisticated emergency equipment. But it doesn't matter if you have NASA-designed lifeboats worth 10 million each, it is still always risky to launch them in hard weather. Lifeboats are quite small vessels and can easily be slammed into the ship and shattered by a wave.

And anyway it wouldn't have made a huge difference if they would have been able to launch the boats, most victims never managed to get out of estonia
