  • I just re-read my previous post and realized that I made four spelling mistakes in the first sentence. These were typos...Honest. I do know how to spell "school","teacher" and "career" and "schools" again. Notice that I did spell School and teacher correctly in the rest of the post. What an embarrassment.

  • I taught in four scools over my carrer as a techer and all four scools had a dusty, out of tune Autoharp in the storeroom closet when I went to the school. I got them out, cleaned them up, tuned them and used them. When the other teachers heard how lovely they sounded, I had trouble getting the 'harp away from them. I have a few Autoharps of my own now that I'm retired and still love the sound. Thanks for your touching story and your lovely playing (and singing of course)

  • jarama valley by woody guthrie??!

  • This is definately not my type of music, but even i can tell shes amazing (Y)

  • One of the greatest parts of this video is the look of love and admiration on your "spouse's" face.....BEAUTIFUL! Thank you!

  • OMG!!!!!!!!! your voice is so nice you are just amazing

  • I have to agree with everyone else, you have a very beautiful voice and the sound of your voice goes hand in hand with the music from the autoharp, I could listen to this repeatedly.

  • Love your voice - it has a wonderful quality!

    thanks for sharing -

please play and sing more here!!!

  • great story and playing nice job sherri.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • Thank you for watching Rolando! It's very nice to meet you!!

  • I see you don't use picks on your fingers. I don't use picks at all because of the scratch sound they give. I pick out the melody with my little finger a lot. I grow the nail a little longer. Sure have to get the thumb hardened in to play it bare fingered. I'll check out you others too.

  • I do use the thumb pick. LOLL My nails are usually long enough on my right hand to hear while strumming. Although they chip if I really get into a song! Thank you so much for your comment! It's very nice to meet you! I'd love to hear you play! Happy New Year!!

  • Though I've not played the autoharp, sometime its sounds were ringing in my head when I was driving around the southwest states.

In many cases,at the moment I take photo of natures in US,something sounded in my brain.

Sometime it might be autoharp. The sounds almost fading away in the wind on the rough land.

    Thanks Sherri-san.Great job.

  • Thanks so much for posting this! It brings back memories of when I was younger, the first time someone put a guitar in my hands. I didn't pick another one up for quite some time after that, many years, but finally a year and a half ago I picked it up again and it's leading to more and more instruments. I hope to add the autoharp soon... it's such a beautiful instrument. You sound wonderful playing yours :)

  • Thank you Beth! I had put down the guitar for quite a few years myself. I only just picked it up again around Christmas last year! Yet my Autoharp, I've always played when I had some time to myself!

  • You are an Angel!!!

  • You remind me a lot of chirogirl6750. It took years for her to sing and play in front of anyone. I had the same music teacher in grade school and high school and he played sax and inspired and a lot of other musicians, my brother John also (Lake Shore Drive, Aliotta, Haynes, and Jeremiah). He is our most remembered teacher at our schools for all the kids, not just the musicians. When I performed I always wished that the lights were out. I just shut my eyes now. Keep playing!

    Jim Jeremiah

  • I would have never guessed that of Yvonne! She looks so comfortable now! Could it be that playing together with her man by her side has something to do with it? I know Artie has helped me with it! Cuz I'm comfortable with him next to me! I used to have panic attacks when I sang in a band-geesh I was only 20 back then!! LOLL Thank you!
