  • @MrThcpcplsd Let me explain then. The comment was directed at sokodad and my comment was directed at him 8 months ago. Would love to hear your take on the 409 since you are so much older than me and have so much knowledge on the subject.

  • @threefidee that's true!

  • Just a couple. The guy beside me and his brother in the 409 have some toys!

  • Thats funny. Had 1969 396SS 4speed showing off in front of my girls house I dumped the clutch and I blew the rear end watched the pinion bearing roll across the street. She went in the house and sent her dad out to help me push the car. I have a 69 hurst/Olds 70 Trans-am and a 73vette L-82 I take it easy now a days. I bet you got some toys right?

  • @Bubbajomama 2 1/2 gears, was on Woodward Ave. durning the Dream Cruise and cops hiding everywhere. He had Warlock mufflers on his 409 that were uncapped so it was pretty loud.

  • fuck the gto

  • wowo that kid in 0:00 looked pissed

  • That 409 wasn't trying, he had a kid in the car. That 389 GTO would of spanked him and just about anything in those days. Who else had that kind a cubes and torque in car that light off the showroom in 1964?

  • @ENCO12357 plymouth and godge thay spanked gto's and 409's

  • @MrBerp have another beer and watch those MOPAR's rust away. LOL.

  • @ENCO1235764 "Who else had that kind a cubes and torque in car that light off the showroom in 1964?"

    GTO 389-348hp. 3126 pounds.

    64 Impala SS. 425 HP 409. 3325 pounds.

64 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt 427-425hp.2800 pounds.

There were more cars in those days that would scare the crap out of you other than a GTO.

  • @zLOSTNOMOREz Thanks for the well known information but the only car that ever scared the crap out of me was a 1962 Galaxy that lost it's brakes. I won't argue numbers with you but don't leave out the pontiac 421 S.D. Catalina.

  • @ENCO12357 LOL,that would have scared the crap out of me as well! Got one better though. Had a 68 4 spd RR,340 built to the hilt with 3.91 gears. Showing off from a stop sign, the carb linkage hung wide open on the 1 2 shift and i was heading for car that had pulled out a few hundred feet in front of me. Thank God i did not freeze up. I shut it off and got it stopped in time but needless to say,i was walking a little strange when i got out of it.

Did forget about the 421 SD.

  • @ENCO12357 ...only car that i have ever been in that was fast enough to scare me was a 68 442 with a heavily modified 455-auto / 2.73 gears. When he would stand on it at around 100 mph, the rear of the car would sway back and forth until he let off of it and that was with wide street slicks on it.

Never seen another street car that would roast the tires like that one would!

  • @zLOSTNOMOREz I never thought much about Olds until I found my 69 H/O, restored it totaly stock and found she really pulls hard for a 3760lbs. car 3:23 with air cond.

  • @ENCO12357 The car i was telling you about was a 68 Hurst Olds. Sold it to someone in KY years ago.

  • @zLOSTNOMOREz Wow!! That is really something. That 68 H/O was a real sleeper back then. I'm not ready to part with mine just yet.

  • @ENCO12357 Said thing about it was that my parents owned the car, they sold it to the guy who built it up and back then these cars were going for big money. At the time it had a 430 wildcat/auto but other than that it was in near perfect shape. I tried over and over and over to convince them that it was a H/O and that it was worth more than what they sold it for......$500!

  • @zLOSTNOMOREz Ya, I sold some I wish I could get back. Trying to hold on to the three I have but in these hard times I can feel the pull of the revenue man. The State & Feds want my stuff. Gonna have to make some changes next year. LOL. Good luck to you and all car guys out there.

  • @zLOSTNOMOREz A '64 GTO weigh more than 3126 lbs it was more like 3450 lbs for a bare bones stripped down version.

  • @1971transam455ho That was the listed factory weight for that year.

  • GTO: Gas, Tires & Oil. LoL...

  • Really, you think they were racing? Don't think so. Any idiot can see the guy in the 409 was short shifting. He never made enough rpm between shifts to even make any power. I know the GTO isn't no slouch because my brother had a 66, but the 409 would've broke rubber in all four gears if the guy drove it like he stole it. On the street or track it wasn't that much of gap between the two. Both were awesome GM power cars.

  • LOL,that poor chevrolet.

  • Nice! I think that's how it usually turned out. Ha ha
