I actually bought my 3.8 for drifting purposes, and it does it wonderfully. However, I know I'm gonna get a lot of flack for this, but in my line of driving, the Supra... Well... i guess if a 4 cyl 2 liter engine can make 400whp++ on stock block then a 3.0 6 cyl should do 600 .. if we compare apples to apples .. there are a few GC's in korea running in the 5xx whp with only a thicker head gasket and this engine is similar to the one in the evo .. we've seen stock looking evo x going under 10's .. with forged internals the gen should be able to make enough power to do it also ..

To all of you Genesis owners who talk so highly about your car. The Toyota Supra was built back in 1992 and excels in everything over a genesis coupe , EVERYTHING. Stock for stock, mod for mod, accelleration handling, braking, reliability and gets the same gas mileage as the V6 which is N/A.

@kageryu311 Listen, no one is denying the Supra was a great for it's car. However, in 2010, if any company was to develop a car with such technologies (iron block, twin turbos, etc.), you'd be looking at a 4000 lbs to meet emissions and safety standards and THAT isn't anything impressive.

You can't compare cars from different eras, they meet and abide to much different rules and market dynamics. The group C cars from LeMans in the 1980s were much quicker than todays, does it matter? No.

The Supra then became it's own car in the mid to late 80's where it eventually got a 7m and 1jz. The one in the video was started in '93. He was thus running 1bar boost when his car is set to 1.8bar. He DID, however, beat the Genesis in the second round (Part II), he says in 4th gear. Whatever the outcome, the Supra was not in any way ready for a drag race. Had he been using normal tires and at 1.8bar.

Technology is a lot more than engine management and recaro seats? Please. A tuner car will never be an OEM product. It's a 15 years old platform, it use a iron block and the chassis is flemsy.

I'm not impressed, this car was amazing 10-15 years ago, it no longer is. It drinks fuel like it's still 1$ a gallon and is heavier than a 3.8 track.

Technology is not what power you're putting down, it's HOW you do it. It's a combination of weight, power, dynamics, etc. The Supra excels in power, it fails in weight, dynamics and drivability.

The N54 from BMW is a great example of a I6 putting down massive numbers with little lag and from a light aluminum block. The new S55 being developed for the 1M coupe is also a showcase of technology.

I am speaking from experience! Honestly the genesis is a horrible platform for any modifications. I have raced a few supra's,and let's just say that the outcome for me wasn't too pretty. Its over built engine and superb engineering enabled the Supra to be one of the few cars that can make over a thousand whp on the stock motor. Some Supra's are now running 7's in the 1/4 mile, they are also tearing up the standing mile and road courses around the world. Not to mention the infamous highway pulls
