  • THIS BEAT IS FUCKIN ILL................REAL CANDIAN HIP HOP @ ITS FUCKIN FINEST

  • Sometimes we walk in the flesh leaves us weak in the mind most of them lost some of them blinded couldn't pick up where I left off...wish I break down and lose turn the gun on my own head.....infinite man unreal....spits pure knowledge

  • nice remix thumbs up that's two thumb

  • I need this for my iPod... It's amazing.

  • Simply. Awesome. The original song just....WORKS with this. A top-notch collaboration.

  • Spent my life behind these steel bars, paid my debt in time, being brought to justice, that was my only crime... man these lyrics are fucking deep.

    Canadian for life!!

  • thanks

  • um..nah. i like all 3 artists on their own, but this just seems like a mess.

  • I think this remix is a good one. the song apeals to the criminal element in all of us. first time i heard this song was locked up in metro west kitchen duty was on the range eatin supper and toronto rock came on with jd roberts hosting as soon as i heard the original i fell in love as i could relate. i meet Gowan a few years after as he opened for honeymoon suite and told him the story. thanks for readin my rambling peace to all

  • @flyinbrian1ca Deep not ramblin one

  • sick track nice sample using

  • Gowan is so sinister in this video. This is great!

  • I didn't even know there was a video for this song. Anyway, the song is dope. Full of awesomeness and then some.

  • @jademm the beat fits just right

  • cool..

  • LEGENDARY MAAN..!! legendary ....

  • where i download this song ???

  • @jamablazen just google>Maestro Feat Infinite and Gowan : Criminal Mind and you should find it at mp3bear

  • This is how you make a rap version of this song, not that Akon crap.

  • Can't ind this song to download....can anyone help me out?

  • @imthebest6 i dont know ive had on my computer forever

  • this song was created for any person that has a criminal mind.

  • Amazing! I watched with jaw dropped the entire time without moving my eyes from the screen (I even forgot to let go of the mouse!). I was so surprised, I had no idea this song existed. It's awesome to see Gowan in this. Everyone should check out the original version and it's partial-cartoon music video from 1985, the production is fantastic. Way to go Maestro for giving Gowan his props and so much on-screen time.

  • Damn, never heard this song before! This joint is sick.

  • dis to think it's only black i'm native and i get brought down the same it's the criminal mind set the area that cops can't help or they don't want to help i hate cops i think when they take mandum below they should have more respect for the way some people live or have no choice to live but deep in side they want and need the the help to change but can;t cuz the law bring em down and gives them no daught what is about to happen next

  • Wow. Colour me impressed.

  • Brilliant hip hop. Maestro just got my respect - a rapper with tres guts to tell the truth and help guide black people out of mental slavery.

  • Whao, is that Lawrence Gowan in the vid? Kinda looks like him but if it is he really does look like a criminal haha hard to recognize him =P

  • good song....still like the original better

  • love this! Good to see you 2 doin it strong!

  • big up fresh wes for being the first and brightest star to hold down the dot

  • Radio, what you programming, you programming life or you programming death man, wake up man kids are dyin.... So true.... Real hip hop right there

  • @galene333 Well Gowan participated in it so I'm guessing that he supported it. Wich makes your comment seem ..... well kinda retarded!

  • I agree americans make great tracks, i am canadian, they have some great artists, but we have a lot catching up to do!

  • yea but u have gr8 fighters aka GSP

  • poor GOWAN

  • fuck u guys...americans drop the hottest beats. this is an amazing song but u dont have to put down american rap just cz u guys came out with ONE good one doesnt make u the best. u still got a ways to go.

  • I'm not being rude, I'm comparing to Lil' Wayne, Kanye West, and Acorn or whatever the hell his name is. They suck, not one good one in my opinion. I love this song.

But yes, Americans still produce many good ones, my preference is Eminem, sometimes. I'm into this song mostly for Gowan, I found this an interesting turn on "A Criminal Mind".

So in a way, I disagree and agree with you. If that makes sense.

  • @theslick926 that's the most ignorant comment I've ever heard.. Toronto always holds it down, check your stats homeboy.

  • WTF RAP IN GOWAN WTF.. O_O

  • Im a punk rocker/rockabilly/metalhead but man this is sooo good. I had the chance to see Maestro open up for Vanilla Ice at Fanshawe College in 2004 and he was amazing. I love old school Canadian hip hop. Maestro has so much talent and can match the best of the American talent if not beat them hands down.

    Good stuff!

    ~ Dave

  • I am from Scarb!

  • golfclub reppin homy

  • thats where im from, damn right stand up...

  • i get 2 see gowan with styx next month yay!!!!

  • infinite is toronto's best rapper (An From D Rex)

  • I came to realize, Torontos most talent comes from scarborough but their strongest artist lives in the west. Like Kardinal and Infinite are like the hottest emcees in the city perhaps the country. But Scarborough has NUFF people who can bang but not on their level.

  • what a good job by 3 of canadas best

  • maestro went to my high school

  • @Dw1zzle O`connor

  • thats were im from scarbrough ontario cuz.. infinite is sick .. absolutely murdered this track

  • Shit, i always thought someone should rap over that track. Nice one....

  • 1 of the best old songs remixed into a new one 2 Thumbs Up

  • poor larry gowan , I never knew he was doing hard time for singing ..."da blues"

  • Big ups to Maestro Fresh Wes, Canada's HipHop legend

  • yeah love this song.

  • infinite killed this track

  • Big ups to Maestro for bring back Infinite. Tunes strong!

  • big ups to gowan doing one better then samples.

  • Flows nice, can't get enough. Keep it up Maestro. Infites best IMO

  • sick song

  • i lov diz song it make me wanna get free from jail n all datt bull azz shit lol now im home now aint gonna go bac

  • If it's good it doesn't matter how old it is. Hendrix is 40 years old now but more people listen to that today than Run DMC which is half as old. You can't diss anything based on it's genre. There's good/shit rock just like there's good/shit rap.

  • true... it is so old , thats its now , antique ...and thus its now somewhat desirable

  • and yo...doesnt seem like GOWAN had too much of a problem with it...

  • You dumb shit...if you don't like the sample dont listen to it. And dont post hate for the people who do like it.

If your such a hard core Gowan fan *laughs* then listen to the original and stay in the 80's.

The rest of the world has moved on...

why dont you try listening to what MC's are saying and then maybe you'll understand the value in it.

  • This comes together so seamlessly. I love it.

  • Rap is beauty man you just dont ever get the message real rappers send out like krs one marley marl Immortal technique pac and nas fuck Soulja boy he can die

  • I fucking love thins song creds ti Maestro and Gowan for a making a beautiful masterpiece and rockers dont see what the beauty rap and hip hop bring together the feel you only get from a hip hop or rap concert can produce

  • ... beauty of rap???? U mean no talent getting waaaaaaay more attention then it deserves???

  • haha dont even start with me. I'm white, i play in a metal/progressive band. I've been in raggae bands, punk bands, and even a jazz band. I listen to jazz, produce house a club music, produce hophop, as well as keeping up my own solo projects. I see the beauty in all music. Good music is good music, period. No matter what genre it is, thats the one fact you cant change.

    Think hard, Speak Easy.

  • good music is good music. true. but i've never really been able to see rap and hip hop as good. or music for that matter.

  • that's just ignorant, then man. open your mind, its obviously music, its one of the two most popular genres on the planet, billions of people disagree with you.

  • I disagree. Sure the stuff in the back ground of rap is music { still most of the time lame thou} but the rapping is just talking with a bit of beat.

and as for having billions of people disagreeing with me, thats never changed my veiws on certain things before.

  • so... hang on.

you're gonna say rap isn't music... but there's music in the background.

so... if someone talks instead of sings... suddenly not music eh?

and the way certian rappers can string words together and have some serious meaning, that shit takes skill. there's no question that rap IS music, you just dont like it

    that's where the line is.

  • debatable. I know country,nu metal, emo and disco are music but I hate those as well. I fail to see the serious music in rap.

and the whole reason I even left a comment is because I'm a fan of Gowan and I hate to see his work in this mockery.

  • yeea toronto <3

  • this is an amazing song 2 thumb way up

  • Grezzy Track

  • I usually don't like rap covers/samples, but this one pulls through awesomely. All I can say is that it's a masterpiece, nothing less.

  • I love how all the hip-hoppers on here show respect to Gowan but none of the rockers seem to show respect to Maestro.

They don't see the beauty of having two artists come together and make something special. They don't appreciate hip-hop in general probably.

  • agreed most people that are into rock/punk don't really show respect to people that like hiphop but i got use to it after a while

  • what it comes down to is people with an open mind willing to accept what others have created or modified, trying to open the minds of those who fear what they don't understand.

I think the problem with Hip-hop is that too many MC's speak too quickly and use too much slang for people outside the culture to get what they are saying. proof being so far this discussion has not even touched on what infinite and maes are sayin... just the same battle from the 80's bout sampling music...

  • well spoken.

  • the reason the rappers show respect to Gowan is because they know their place on the talent scale.

  • how isnt rap music thats like saying rock is just yelling and even then thats ignorant i'm a rapper myself and understand how hard it is to write a track and if its so simple why dont u make a rap track properly too with the barring flow and the whole nine yards truth is you cant without practice just because we dont play violens or pianos doesnt mean we're not musicians open your mind not your mouth listen to one be lo or masta ace and tell me they rnt talented lyracists

  • again since when did rap and rock become the only two kinds of tunes?? I also listen to Metal, New Age, Progressive,Classical, Celtic, Blues and Medevil Chant. So if anyone else is going to tell me to open my ears, don't bother. I already have open ears.

and y don't I right a rap track?? because I respect myself as an artist and don't want waste anytime doing something so vain, unmusical and annoying.

and talking with a bit of beat isn't really music.

  • brother your right its poetry something real deep no wonder why its potent and reaches the listeners souls only the dumb and the deaf can't understand it so listen to your metal and celtic (I dont even no what that is)i'm gonna keep writing my tracks and make my graffiti yup

  • deep?? all most of it is about is gang fights, money and having sex with vanaerial deseiesd whores. Still, I know some underground rap is a little better message wise but the "music" is still garbage.

  • you don't know the half all i listen to is underground i'm a hip hop head and have you heard of Talib Kweli or Mos Def or Common or Substantial or Blu or Wu Tang fact of the matter is you don't know shit dumbass

  • your use of the english language is about as good as your taste in music.

  • for once you are correct i'm an english major, an emcee and a poet my poems won contests and even reached top 10 and your one to talk look at how you spelled disease genious if this was a debate i wouldve won because i've hit you with the facts and your rebuttals were weak please stick classical cause like the music your time is done don't bother me anymore dont even respond cause i demolished you

  • ha ha. u spelt genius wrong. pwwft. u hypocritical dumbass.

and as for my musics time being done some of its surrvied for hundereds or thousands of years. Rock still lives on as well.

Rap will die out just like anyother trend.

  • thats what they said in the 80s speakin of hypocrit mr vanaerial disease you don't know shit and that doesnt change the fact that its done i beat you i won mr nobody so stop pestering me i think i might need some pesticide

  • hey can why don't you speak to elves and get there thoughts on this matter by the way do you still live with your mother? i checked your profile i don't have time for you your nothing but a loser a nobody my 13 year old bro used to be into that stuff when he was ten but grew out of it i guess some people never grow huh

  • no sit, you surely are not an english major.

your grammar and punctuation is horrid..

  • No sit huh?? By the way thx for letting me no my grammers bad cuz i'm just gonna waste my time spell checking my comments. Hey if your interested i got some emails you can proof read 4 me b4 i send them out

  • i said your grammar and punctuation, not "spell checking"

i guess you can't read, either.

  • i got text messages too wanna revise those? no wonder y they gave your ugly ass a metal mask

  • i got text messages too wanna revise those? no wonder y they gave your ugly ass a metal mask i've gotten my poems published twice what about your ugly ass fuckin racist

  • ugly racist? okay little kid, grow up.

sorry i put you on the spot and hurt your feelings, but at least use facts or something when you are trying to make a comeback.

    and i promise you this.

i am a much more well established poet then you.

i've been published too. big whoop.

i don't need to rub it in your face, i just keep moving.

but right, metal mask. ever heard of MF Doom? thats the reference.

next time, try to actually use a factual basis.

  • oo so now u listen 2 rap huh w/e eat a dick mr.spellcheck i bet 1 of my peoms would beat your whole catalog cousin

  • U guys are funny, owned!

  • Maestro is King! A man with a message. Thank-you!

  • Criminal mind IS NOT stale you think it is!

  • gowan rocks

  • Nice! Wish we heard even more Gowan swivel between beats minus the rap on a instramental solo also.

  • Infinite is the best rapper ever out of Canada. COME BACK MAN!!!!

  • *is amazed by ignorant comments from stupid bigots* just because you dont like rap doesnt mean it sucks...rap artist often breath new life into old stale songs

  • more like they try to make their crap sound better by using talent artists art.

  • better yet mythicdude y dont you freestyle or produce a hip hop track use an mpc or breakdance or create a graffiti mural it isnt easy as it looks brother and thats the truth

  • y don't I make a hip hop track?? probably because i think hip hop friggin sucks.

and even thou graffiti is not the type of art I do, I still respect it. Untill a bunch of posers in hoddies start standing around it and makie it tacky

  • naw cause you can't and the "posers" are the ones that made graffiti all the legends were "posers" that your talking about buddy study your lessons

  • kk. I'll just pretend that made any sense.

  • buddy garbage is the name of a rock band and how didnt that make sense you know what i think your a moron you have to be mr "artist"

  • Dis song iz killin it, Nuff Luv Gowan<33

  • They killed a great song

  • Hey MythicDude that is such a stupid name, you must have a huge ego, its like dude your so deep. Actually this track is awesome. All artists on it are excellent. Open your ears deep one!!!!!

  • stupid name??? how about thinking of a better way to defend crap then use a name insult.

And since when did rap and rock become the only types of music. I also listen to metal, progressive, new age, classical, jazz and celtic. I think my ears are open

  • I love the words to this song.I respect the artists in this song. There should be more rap like this, that actually gets air time/radio play & gowan is awesome.

  • i actually enjoyed this video alot i would love to see more old artists mix with rap and hard rock of current times like this song did really good stuff

  • Infinite is in the studio, new cd due out in january !

  • damn when is infinite dropping an album

  • u racist sack of shit

  • hell ya racanelli!!!

now go wash ma car bitch

  • not much of a rap fan, big Gowan fan tho - this video is all about a message and how we interpret it -- a well dressed, educated black lawyer - everday black man on the stand as the sterotype; I find it very cool Gowan participated in this video showing middle-age white men go to prison too (just my 2-cents)

  • is infite gunna drop anything anytime soon? shit, dude is too underated

  • Alright I am a huge Gowan fan but I can't stand rap. No offense to people who do but I like rock. Still Gowan makes this video better. He is amazing. But still I am a rocker! Not a rap fan.

  • This that shyt.. Infinte n Maestro did their damn thing in this remix... Infinite needa come back cus he that shyt....
