@random7078 I know it's been a while but I just want to say I've just started playing hockey last year at 13 years old around April
And I'm actually better than most of the people I know that play aa minor hockey. I know because I scored 4 goals when we were playing a pick up game withmy friends at the rink. I am now 14 and still working hard to make sure I make my school hockey team. Most of my hockey studies were towards goalie training though, that's why I have an edge at scoring. It's never
i play in a league in seattle its all about the requirements and what you feel you need. all i use are skates, shin pads, pants, gloves and a helmet visor or cage optional. But they really need to go into detail on the equipment for the type of skater or player you are.
@ImpOverpower The visor helmets have actual visors attached to them, and the visors can range from small to protect just the eyes, to large to protect most of the face. These are usually used in the big league. The cage helmets offer full face protection and are used in the minor leagues, not like the ahl minor league, like your local hockey league.
This is no how-to. Why would you not explain proper sizing of equipment? Stupid video, you guys already have a vid about equipment needed for playing. Showing people proper sizing would be of great benefit.
dont go 4 big goals, little at a time, like go for being in the top 10 in ponts..then on from their..then try and get drafted..going straight for the NHL is hard..and your always going to think about "what if i dont make it?" so dont go big..a ...and just cuz you dont have money doesnt mean you cant play..go to every open hockey you can..and im 11 and ive been goalie since i was 8..but been playing street hockey since 3 yrs of age..(goalie)
im 12 and i wanna start agin cuz i quit acouple years ago but i wanna play agian , but thw thing is io dont kno weather i should play ina rec. league or tryout for a A league :/
lol he forgot a box if you get whacked in the nuts with a stick and have no box it hurts bad my mate went to hospital cause he had brusing on his left testicle XD
Well i was just thinking about going for the C team just to see how it would go but people have told me its kind of something you have to do from like 5 and just work your way up.. i don't know, just nervous.
I understand your fear, but experience is something you gain from playing. Yes, people who have played since 5 will usually perform better than the average casual player
However if you try hard and skate and play hockey almost every day then you will be as good or better than the kids who have been playing since 6
@random 7078 i started hockey at 7 and ive benn doing fine im 13 now and play in a A league in winter and AAA in spring. it is hard but u have to work hard
I'm 17 turning 18 in June & i wanna start Ice Hockey. I've played hockey almost everyday & i'm good at it but barely skated before & i'm watches videos like this to help me out. My dream is to play for Toronto Maple Leafs. =]
Turns out it would be better off if i didnt play.. i guess they prefer if you play from a younger age and work you're way up.. There is no hockey team for my high school, they took the team away because guys were using it as a reason to fight, so i guess ill let it go, anyway.. thanks for all the replies.
Get on the Ice it doesn't matter if you are 30 or 18 you can play Ice Hockey. You need to find players at your ability and practice with them. As you progress forward with your skating skills and stick handling skills you move up in level of talent. Believe me you need to play the game it's the greatest game on earth and once you start to play you can play until you are 70. I'm serious I grew up in Wisconsin now live in CA and many of my CA friends started playing in their 20's
I doubt it. My One95s are 700 alone, then 40 gloves and 9500 bucket V10 shouldies, warrior hustler pants and then sticks would come out to Around 2G. I bought it all myself to lol. What are you rocking that only costs six hundred?
you guys forgot the jock strap !!!!!!! to me its the most important piece of equipement !!!!you dont want a slapshoot at 90 in the testicul whitout that piece of equipement trust me it hurt haha even if you ave the jock strap loll !!
good thing i got my shoulder pads to protect my abdomen, not my chest, but my abdomen hahaha. i love these shitty expert village videos. they're so bad, they're awesome hahaha
Man I can't stand the mouthpieces that come attached to the helmet, I always just get mine done at the dentists. It's alot more comfortable and fits your mouth perfectly.
yeah i see what you mean, but protective gear and skates are crucial, stick ? not so much. I noticed a difference from going to Canadian tire skates to top of the line skates in peewee big time, never went back.
@kin1013 cup isn't really a gear, i my opinion, as they are mostly together with your straps. It is a very important piece, but he also didn't mention hockey shirt, neck guard, gaiters or overalls that you wear under all that gear.
So i guess, this all is protective gear, and he wasn't talking about accessories. Because cup is an accessory
That's the same stick I just bought

@TheRandomGrabber Would it be hard to start ie hockey at a older age? im 15 and never had the guts to join a league but im pretty good.
Thanks.

I don't think it would be too hard to begin at a higher age
you should just practice like crazy before tryouts and maybe you'll have a shot
