I found it weird that when zombies are just walking around they have the worst balance but offen when they see humans they get all focused and can run. The best thing should probably be to just push them over, come on they're almost dead, they can't be neither strong or fast.

shotguns are great, because once their are out of ammo, they can still be used as a melee weapon. chainsaws suck because they are usually heavy and they get clogged easily and also the chain can pop off the metal part and fling around (which can cut you pretty badly). Machine guns are actually probably the best because they hold plenty of ammo, can be switched to semi-auto so that you don't waste ammo, and can also be used for melee.
