  • good advice...over-caffeinatted guy.

  • FAG

  • Good talk - lots of great detail remainders... (And 4x4blazer: Lol, lol, lol re "foul mouth"... A major fear of letter-ordering, huh? Wow.)

  • Way to go with the foul mouth Kris Krug. Very unprofessional.

  • of course you can shoot ISO100 there. on a tripod or with a 50mm f/1.8 lens there evem handheld.

  • Interesting clip, I was recently reading about something similar on thephotographyclinic (.) com

  • It was very usefull :)

    thank you so much .

  • Buy lots of memory it's dirt cheap now, less than half the price it would have been when this video was made so............SHOOT FUCKING RAW!, lol

  • very basic video. For beginners I guess.

  • wow on my birthday, nice vid!

  • neither for beginners nor for advanced.

Slightly better then a video of a talking head...

  • only for beginners! try to take pictures without digital camera, photoshop and light meter. then you learn how it goes.

  • Man, in this sea of digicrap, it is good to hear that sort of thing. :)

  • That was gold.

  • Thanks for the post, very informative :)

  • Charming guy!

  • ahahahha oh wow

  • he sais you should post your photographys and let the people feedback on them.. i think this part is the most difficult one, because nowadays there are so many photgraphers all over the world, that it is nearly impossible to show your pictures to the better photographers, who really got some usefull tips, without any connections.. thats really difficult for beginners.. to kind of make the breakthrough

  • its actually easier than you think. im 17 and know 3 or 4 professional full time photojournalists that have to told me to bug em to death, cuz they just wana help

  • very nice video!!!!

  • He's a great speaker and I learned a ton of information here. I'm a beginner and I'm trying to learn more about the exposure settings to take better pictures. It's confusing but it's more fun, it's more of a challenge to see what camera can do for the pictures. Great info, Great video!!

  • Please dont be dumb.

  • Wow! I loved it. Very helpful:)

  • Im surprised hes only recently got into prime lenses though. Most photographers allways have a prime lense to fall back on, spose hes fed up of low light conditions.

  • A lot of it if youve have a dslr for a while you should already know although I think the root of what he is sayin is learn the basics, but dont be afraid to do something different and brake some of the rules thats how you set yourself apart. Sure expensive equipment may help more to getting a good quality photo but at the end of the day its down to the photographer not the equipment that gets the wow factor in the photo.

    Oh and practice every day.

  • All in all, if you're a beginner, watch the video. Good basics. Clearly he doesn't know about his megapixels, but it doesn't matter. I think his brain leans more towards the creative end of photography and not the technical end. As does mine. Thanks for sharing!!

  • He does know about megapixels and the point he makes is a very good one. A Canon 20D and a new age mobile phone camera both have around 8MP, which do you think will produce the better image? It's not about MP, anything over 6MP will give you a decent size A3 print, glass and the quality of the sensor is more important. Peace.

  • Agreed, just expanding on that a bit in that if you don't intend to print bigger than A3 10 MP is the highest you will ever need... Also not that this assumes you don't crop (that is why you get a good lens)

  • @richandiben i know this comment was posted a year ago, but i would like to point out that it also really doesn't matter what glass you have. 90% of the photograph is the photographer.

  • I thought it was very good. Lots of good general advice for beginners. I agree with pretty much everything he said.

  • Comment removed

  • basic stuff, prime lenses rule.

  • nice outfit and mouth, enjoy the swearing

  • Nice video!

  • Good stuff - I'll pass this along to all my newsletter subscribers.

  • Agreed, most of this is general knowledge, and honestly it doesn't sound like this guy knows what he's talking about. It's nice that he's presenting it, but I would suggest that he learns more about what he is presenting first. (some things like aperture and being more articulate in describing settings) Then he clearly contradicts himself on ISO recommendations, it's just geughe. I teach photo.

  • @FlamingSnowman11

you should put a video up then.

  • Very nice video. Lots of tips really quick. Presented in a fun way too - unlike some elitist snobs who think they're photographic gods.

  • O ya curse that is professional , i hope he fails and lives in a gutter. I stopped watching after that.

  • All this stuff is general knowledge.

  • this is fantastic!

  • he knows more about photography then my teacher haha

  • rawkstar!! go kk

  • great posting.

Everything he said is basically covered in a full year course of Photography 101.

Anyone wanting to know more about composition and photo strength should follow these guidelines.

  • hahahaa. the baby joke killed it lmao. awesome btw. great tips.

  • nice segment.

  • Thanks, I learned things and shared this video and some knowledge I gained with my friends.

  • "take a picture of my baby" ... love this video thanks :)

  • nice!
