Great Hateful Truth! Finished the game today and it's amazing! The graphics are actually much better than Uncharted 2's, with the physics having significant improvement from UC2. You also forgot to mention 3 Team Deathmatch for multiplayer btw!
UC3 has a Different graphic set than UC2, It's like Melee vs. Brawl, personally I like UC2's graphics better since UC3 mad Elena look weird and Chloe looks Asian. o_O
But I do like both games, hell I love the whole UC series!! But UC3 did not top UC2, not necessarily Bad, just couldn't hit it as perfectly as UC2 somehow hit it. But sure as hell a Good game, mostly cuz it got away from military shooter, zombies, or a fighter, or a rehashed classic. *cough cough Nintendo*

Uncharted 3 was awesome! I wish they still had those little cutscenes at the end of multiplayer matches, the ones they had in the beta. I wish they included more multiplayer skins and more maps. I hate how Naughty Dog keeps recycling old shit from the previous uncharted entres. But still a very good game.
Campaign wise= Uncharted 2 was awesome, it was enough to get the game even though without multiplayer. Multiplayer= Uncharted 3 >BF3 & MW3 IMO. It's ridiculously fun! But i think Uncharted 3 is better because there is more content and multiplayer will keep you occupy.
Controls felt more smooth in U2. Every fist fight in U3 was a about the same, throw a few punches kick the dude in the nuts and repeat. Love the game though!

I feel that the difference is pretty strong graphically between U2 & U3 . There are roughly around 3 new villans & roughly 2 new heros. I do feel that melee could have been a little more intricate by stringing combos or flow, i.e. Batman or AC. E ven on crushing, if you continuously alter between punch & counter & only use the break grab when needed, you will will every fight. It's not fun that way & a bit sloppy imo. Melee is still a good addition. I still love this game.
I think the set pieces in Uncharted 3 really made the game for me. When the boat and air plane scene settled on me, thinking back, that had to be some of the most fun i've had this whole year. Now, to me, the only game that i havent played that I think i may get the same amout of fun in is probably Infamous 2 and/or Catherine.

I think this game had the same problem as say fallout new vegas or bioshock 2 did. The game before was just that good and to make a game just as good and if so better wouuld be a hard task, as you pointed out U2 got GOTY last year and I for one knew it would be asking a little too much for them to be able to duplicate that feat for a second year running but nevertheless it's still a great game :)

@LegionOf3 I personally dont think the graphics of uncharted 3 are WAY better than uncharted 2. In U2 the graphics were already amazing at that point, but what happened in U3 is that they got to work with many different environments such as a mansion on fire, a jungle, the ocean and the desert, so basically they got the opportunity to show off way more.

@ micha yea about silly and nate !!! Ellena hardly came out same with chloe and cutter and even the villains. Uncharted 2 brought us flynn and chloe which were there from start to finish and then brought us ellena halfway. And even the villain on among thieves felt like an actual cold hearted villain. Too me Uncharted 3 is like the Last Crusade of gaming. Raiders of the Lost Ark(Uncharted 2) was better by a little, but the Last Crusade(Uncharted 3) is still very good!
Does this game really deserve a 9? I mean you kept comparing it to Uncharted 2 and what i got out of it was the campaign of Uncharted 2 was slightly better than Uncharted 3, but the multiplayer in Uncharted 3 is a great improvement upon Uncharted 2. Looking at those 2 simple statements, it seems like a trade-off to get at least the same score. Trading a slightly worse campaign for greatly improved multiplayer, which is the core replay value anyway. That's just how i see it.
Just from watching your playthrough it seemed like story telling was kind of weak or at least weaker in UC3, still it was one hell of a playthrough ;)
I thought Uncharted 2 was far more epic than this one. Not only did it open up with you clinging to a derailed train, there was much more of an 'epicness' about it. In this one, not as much. Sure, you got the plane sequence but I think they need to step-back and analyse their game. Rethink it. Far too many "coincidences" in this game which made it get pretty fucking boring. If I had a PS3, I'd buy this in a heartbeat. But this game was far from perfect. The second was perfect and so was the 1st
also, its kind of disappointing that you cant watch back the cutscenes like in UC2 and the cutscenes are amazing in the game - i hope naughty dog can make this available with a patch.
@thekjkjkjkjkjkj I highly doubt it. The game holds 50 gb. theres 10 gb per DVD disc. so that will be 5 discs. luckly for sonys blu ray disc can hold over 50 gigs. not to be fanboy or anything, just answering your statement. :)
@DarkNewYear I guess its just how you weigh it because I'd prefer free online vs cross game chatting since my friends and I usually get the same games anyway. The voice quality is only shitty if you buy a shitty mic which would be the same for the Xbox, that's why i don't buy shitty mics...

You only have to wait an hour if you have really bad internet connection, mine usually take like two minutes and in exchange it lowers loading time throughout the game. Both consoles are for talking because both consoles have mics and friend lists. Neither console is better than the other so people should just get which ever their friends have and not which ever side of the fanboy line they're on.

It`s too short. The puzzles aren`t a challange. There are no bossfights and just mindless waves of generic mobs. There are too many cutscenes. The ending was rushed. The final boss was a quicktime event. And they left alot of the story hanging. What happend to Chloe and Cutter?
@336forlife Sure there are positives aswell. The gameplay is fluid. The meele and shooting is very polished. The platforming performs well and has a great tempo. The atmosphere is magic and the envoirments are epic. It really get`s everything out of the engine. The aircraft and ship levels are intresting with the enviorment changing. The story is overall one of the best this year. The dialog is great and the characters are interesting.

phil you gave uncharted 2 a 9 also just like MW2, also i highly doout there'll be a 4th instalment, most of sony's IP's end in their third instalment (god of war, spyro, crash bandicoot, jak and daxter) some that don't follow the rule are: ratchet and clank, sly cooper, gran turismo, twisted metal etc. it's unlikely but who knows =P

Crash Bandicoot was picked up by activision along with Spyro and they are still making games for both franchises although they are obviously crap now that naughtydog and insomniac aren't working on them. God of war had 2 psp games and 2 hd remakes and if u watch god of war 3's ending there could be a god of war 4.

@MrFinalgamer Yeah but you can't really say that. Sony and Naughty Dog are treating Uncharted differently to their other IPs. The Uncharted film is probably further along in production than any other film based on a Sony owned IP. Uncharted had a motion comic, a book and a comic book coming soon. They never did that much stuff with any other IP. Plus ND are saying Uncharted's different to Crash and Jak. It can keep on going with lots of stories. It doesn't have to end with "Unkarted"
@MrFinalgamer the ending actually leaves it very open for a 4th game, it doesnt end on a cliff hanger but it certainly leaves some questions unanswered. i know theyre making a ps vita uncharted but i have no clue if it will be a prequel to the series ala the psp god of war games or if its actually the next game in the series
I beat it last night on hard mode, and it totally lived up to the hype for me. There are so many twists and turns in the campaign, and the online co-op and multiplayer are legit. It was a shorter than usual, but that's no no reason to consider it a downgrade from U2. What a game!
There's one issue with U3 and thats its too short, other than that its a perfected title, however, i have a sneaking suspicion that skyward sword will be the best game of the year, its 36 hours of pure gameplay

because its not on the PS4,it doesnt take that big of a leap in my olinion.but i love the pace of the story in UC3 and hated it in uc2 vecause i knew what was coming up,now in UC3 i never saw anything coming,the gameplay mechanics have being so much improve in UC3,it feels more tight,and for other ppl that play uc2 some of them wont like it.its a great game even thought it seems verry similar to UC2.but in Uc3,u dont know what might happen .
i liked uncharted 2's maps and gameplay more for multiplayer. the weapons feel fairly insignificant in 3. For example the MP9 is basically a replacement for the m4 but you can start with it and it doesnt have any clear advantage over the ak47 like the m4 did in uc2 where it was deadly accurate and just as powerful also the only weapons to pick up are power weapons, it just kinda leaves me cold, though what i really hope for is a uc2 map pack. id get that day 1.
i dont think there will be an uncharted 4...IMO drake losing his ring seemed to represent him moving on from his fortune hunting lifestyle. dont get me wrong.. id pay double for a 4th installment

I mean you kept comparing it to Uncharted 2 and what i got out of it was the campaign of Uncharted 2 was slightly better than Uncharted 3, but the multiplayer in Uncharted 3 is a great improvement upon Uncharted 2. Looking at those 2 simple statements, it seems like a trade-off to get at least the same score. Trading a slightly worse campaign for greatly improved multiplayer, which is the core replay value anyway. That's just how i see it.

I thought Uncharted 2 was far more epic than this one. Not only did it open up with you clinging to a derailed train, there was much more of an 'epicness' about it. In this one, not as much. Sure, you got the plane sequence but I think they need to step-back and analyse their game. Rethink it. Far too many "coincidences" in this game which made it get pretty fucking boring. If I had a PS3, I'd buy this in a heartbeat. But this game was far from perfect. The second was perfect and so was the 1st

@DarkNewYear I guess its just how you weigh it because I'd prefer free online vs cross game chatting since my friends and I usually get the same games anyway. The voice quality is only shitty if you buy a shitty mic which would be the same for the Xbox, that's why i don't buy shitty mics...

You only have to wait an hour if you have really bad internet connection, mine usually take like two minutes and in exchange it lowers loading time throughout the game. Both consoles are for talking because both consoles have mics and friend lists. Neither console is better than the other so people should just get which ever their friends have and not which ever side of the fanboy line they're on.

It`s too short. The puzzles aren`t a challange. There are no bossfights and just mindless waves of generic mobs. There are too many cutscenes. The ending was rushed. The final boss was a quicktime event. And they left alot of the story hanging. What happend to Chloe and Cutter?

@336forlife Sure there are positives aswell. The gameplay is fluid. The meele and shooting is very polished. The platforming performs well and has a great tempo. The atmosphere is magic and the envoirments are epic. It really get`s everything out of the engine. The aircraft and ship levels are intresting with the enviorment changing. The story is overall one of the best this year. The dialog is great and the characters are interesting.

Crash Bandicoot was picked up by activision along with Spyro and they are still making games for both franchises although they are obviously crap now that naughtydog and insomniac aren't working on them. God of war had 2 psp games and 2 hd remakes and if u watch god of war 3's ending there could be a god of war 4.
The franchise is too big to not continue it. No doubt Uncharted will be back. Confirmed for Vita alreadyLOL

@MrFinalgamer Yeah but you can't really say that. Sony and Naughty Dog are treating Uncharted differently to their other IPs. The Uncharted film is probably further along in production than any other film based on a Sony owned IP. Uncharted had a motion comic, a book and a comic book coming soon. They never did that much stuff with any other IP. Plus ND are saying Uncharted's different to Crash and Jak. It can keep on going with lots of stories. It doesn't have to end with "Unkarted"

I beat it last night on hard mode, and it totally lived up to the hype for me. There are so many twists and turns in the campaign, and the online co-op and multiplayer are legit. It was a shorter than usual, but that's no no reason to consider it a downgrade from U2. What a game!

because its not on the PS4,it doesnt take that big of a leap in my olinion.but i love the pace of the story in UC3 and hated it in uc2 vecause i knew what was coming up,now in UC3 i never saw anything coming,the gameplay mechanics have being so much improve in UC3,it feels more tight,and for other ppl that play uc2 some of them wont like it.its a great game even thought it seems verry similar to UC2.but in Uc3,u dont know what might happen .

i liked uncharted 2's maps and gameplay more for multiplayer. the weapons feel fairly insignificant in 3. For example the MP9 is basically a replacement for the m4 but you can start with it and it doesnt have any clear advantage over the ak47 like the m4 did in uc2 where it was deadly accurate and just as powerful also the only weapons to pick up are power weapons, it just kinda leaves me cold, though what i really hope for is a uc2 map pack. id get that day 1.
