it gaves me chills listening to this the whole time...trying to hold tears back but can't help it..every since i was little my parents always talked about kampuchea and it seems that no matter how much we were bashed we still stand up with proud and dignity to this day i hope other younger generations and the generation we are in to never forget what was once lost

I've never heard a Khmer poem before, and hearing it being read this way is pretty amazing to me. It sound so beautiful and it's done with such emotion and passion. I'm Khmer myself and have been living in the United State since I was about 10 yrs old. I like to thank "PromMukbuon" for sharing this video.

It is so sad Khmer had been going through many hardships already ... everything from foreign occupation and invasion, historically from the French, the Japanese, and the Siamese to the American era of bombing Kampuchea at will and the total destruction of the Khmer Rouge ... it is so sad and it seems so unfair that Khmer as people had enormous share of suffering and destruction over the past centuries among foreigners who did not respect the sovereignty of Khmer.

Being Khmer and listening to this poem I can not stop my tears from dripping. I am so ashame of myself that I don't have any power in this life time to help my suffering people. Since 9 years old I was forced to leave my beloved homeland to live in a foreign land. Thirty year later, I still couldn't stop crying because I miss my home so much. To all Khmers around the world, I just want to let you know that I love you all very much. Please forgive me that I could not make you proud.

We need to show our youth with example. Let's teach and nurture them with the spirit of our ancestors and with what is right. We all need guidence in our lives, as we all can start with guiding someone who needs it.

ask all khmers not to encourage this stero type and to show the world we are intelligent and strong to overcome what our history has brought us to. Not many will understand or even fathom what our culture has gone through. I am from the second generation born in the US (in relation to many myspace users in my generation). Many people who I have came across have no idea of khmer history and why our country is at the status we are at today. I have seen limitations and prejudice (generated from ignorance) towards my khmer people.

It is heart breaking to hear that khmer people are "uneducated, low class, and only start gangs of rivary towards it's own people".

It's very very sad to see we Khmer people live in poverty today. For 33 years I've live the U.S I never seen poverty in America. Until I Took a trip to Cambodia last December for the very first time.
