  • Uwielbiam aaaaaaaa

  • Proud to be of Scottish heritage :D

  • Jack White is a genius and will be remembered for ever!

  • anyone know where I can find the mandolin chords for this song

  • Very underrated song

  • I think this is just a masterpiece. The end of White Stripes is the real end of rock 'n roll.

  • Jack White is an amazing musical talent! I kinda like to compare him to Beck in the fact that either one can play just about any instrument you put in front of them. The biggest difference, and the one that makes me like Jack White alot better, is that most of Jack's lyrics seem to make sense whereas Beck's lyrics are out of left field. This particular song is of my favorite White Stripes songs out of all their music. Absolutely outstanding!

  • the size of the disike bar, is the size of justin beibers ? u know what

  • @bobJeremiahsteve People like you are the only ones who still bring him up, shut up, you're beating a dead horse.

  • @itsthelolocaust

    THUMBS UP

  • HURDY!

  • Jesus?

  • @themudball Nope. Just Chuck Testa.

  • @ReverendBalderdash Chuck Testa does not taxidermize pets

  • @asheswillfa11

Lol, I only just learned about Chuck Testa via 'Kids React To ...' and now I read this comment.

  • I feel bad for people who by just listen to the singles off an album, because they miss out on amazing songs like this one.

  • @BCRamsey14 I agree. This my favorite song.

  • I really like this song. It's so different.

I don't know why but it's make me feel good.

  • this sounds very medieval. its nice to see a creative band nowadays.

  • @mwhight you dick the band dispanded so why did you say nowadays!!

  • @M3NT4LxCHRIS Maybe cause he didn't know?Stfu and speak nicer u dumbass.

  • @M3NT4LxCHRIS why are you such an asshole?

  • @ELPOLLOLOCO5472 ur mum didnt mind when she was liking it

  • Sounds a lot like a swedish bagpipe

  • Amazing song. i listen to it over and over just like every single white stripes song. But this one more so.

  • my opinion is that this is the best song they did!

  • @stormo10 i agree whole-heartedly. Jack likes diversity - and I feel this song is a prime example of that.

  • cant wait to get my mandolin to learn this! who plays the bag pipes on this? probably jack he plays everything

  • by far my favoritre white stripes song. it is in no way a throw away song..

  • how bout the 232 of us go to the 1 guys house and play the bag pipes untill his ears bleed

  • this song is my favourite on the album, even if it was a bit of a disappointment. nothing can match that raw power that their first album had.

  • <3 THIS SONG!

  • i don't like much music now days, but i will say, jack white is definitely one of the most talent musicians in this generation.

  • This song is so adventurous sounding. Makes me want to explore the world even more.

  • favorite white stripes song, this is constantly on replay in my head it seems

  • White Stripes = Cool !! :)

  • he could play the harp and make it cool! one of the all time great musicians

  • Definitely one of the best songs to listen to in spring. Sounds just like the rollin' green hills of Ireland and other places. It's too bad they are a band no more. They left an everlasting mark on fans. Long live the White Stripes!

  • it sounds very authentic irish..at first i thought it was a cover of a folk song..he hit the nail on the head with this one ...thumbs up

  • This song is just so cool.

1 sad lonely person dislikes this song. Poor them :(

  • Did they write this or is it a cover of and old old old old song? It sounds Medieval. I love it.

  • @ZeppelinFloydRoses

doubt it. But tts considerably easy to invent a celtic folk tune(look at dropkick murphys, the tossers, or flogging molly) It doesnt sound medieval, it sounds celtic.

the song itself is about the thistle, a flower native to Scotland, where both members of the band are from

  • @lamerbill Celtic is the word I should have used.

  • @lamerbill ummmmmmmm last time i checked they r from detroit.

  • I remember just jumping on the bed during a storm in Florida to this... When I was... 13... AWWW.

  • 1 dislike? Only ONE man would DARE give me the 1 dislike.....

    LONESTARRRRRRRRR

(Ps i love this song :D)

  • Ive listened to this about 20 times in a row, it makes me feel like running through a field!

  • BAGPIPES!

  • 1:18 Gotta love when the beat really kicks in!

  • probably my favorite song like ther bag pipe sweet addition to a rock song haha

  • Love this song!!!

  • the whole album is great!!! i when i hear the white stripes, i feel home

  • prepairing for battle music... william wallace would of liked...

  • someone should find a way to play this backwords and speed it up because i think the song St andrews is this song backwords.......im to dumb to do that myself

  • Thistles... St. Andrew...

What connection is there to Ireland in this song?

    Sigh.

  • @marywoo1 its about scotland...

  • i have this album!

  • @babybash540 i not :(

  • @RoMan951104 aww its okay :(

  • Does anyone realize Jack is Irish? His real last name is Gillis. I think he was searching exploring roots a little bit here.

  • this song makes me want to cry, its amazing....and i also want to go to an irish pub now :)

  • This is the catchiest damn song on the album.

  • @stormo10 anyone who says that is clearly not getting what Jack White and The White Stripes are all about.

  • I'm not Irish, but this song touches me in the most gentle way possible.

  • I was about to make a joke about how someone is a Justin Bieber fanboy/girl, but I mean really, who would defile such an amazing song.

Oh, what? The guy below me?

Well then. Carry on with listening to epic music.

  • one person was blinded by the awesomeness of this song and missed the like button

  • Answering why these bagpipes sound different, and are in key of D: the pipes used here aren't the usual big, loud Great Highland Pipes, but the much smaller and mellower Scottish Smallpipes, which are quiet enough to play along with other acoustic instruments, and come in usually A or D.

  • if this is a "throw-away" song, then I'm the Grand Duchess of York

  • @BigCM06 if this is a 'throw away' song, then I am the reincarnation of Kalioor, the almight lion lord.

  • @stormo10

I've never called this a 'throwaway.' The entire album, actually, contains no filler at all. It's blatantly astonishing how The White Stripes just keep getting better and better, when most go somewhat stale. I really hope they go on tour soon, because that's one concert I could never miss.

  • battle of evermore

  • @stormo10

I never thought of it as a throw away song. I myself am Irish and this song touches me deeply.

  • Amazing!

  • Sounds great. Always reminds me of Led Zeppelin

  • Agg!!! The epicness!! I need more!

  • Agg!!! The epicness!! I need more!

  • Is that a mandolin?

  • great song :D

  • I'll be damned if I can't remember where this tune is from.... Anyone wanna give me a hand? I know it's found in a much older traditional song, but I can not recall it's name. Just the bit around where he sings "Singing ladelade, etc."

  • I love this song and any other song that Jack creates/is a part of/even LOOKS at or BREATHES on..

  • 101st like! = P

  • @stormo10 Its my favorite White Stripes song.

  • This song is so good

  • I love it

  • I only heard 30 seconds of this song on iTunes and I already loved it. Thanx for posting it up so I can hear the whole thing.

  • bagpipes !!

  • i absolutely adore this song already and i'm only 1 minute in, what was the person who said it was a "throw away song" thinking. Sounds perfect to me

  • Muito legal!!

  • This is one of the greatest songs i have ever heard.

  • @conan3d I know

  • throw away song?!?!?

you know how hard it is to find bagpipes tuned to D?!?!?!?

and how can anything with a mandolin in it be deemed throw away!

    argh! for shame! :)

  • Folky nice

  • @stormo10 i cant believe they would say that, i think this is the white stripes best song

  • "And the man plays a beautiful whistle, and he supports Partick Thistle!!!"

  • This is seriously a genius song. Defiantly my favorite White Stripes song.

  • yeah, definitely Led Zep influence haha. i can appreciate this song, whatever

  • can feel the zeppelin influence in this song

  • @bbetanc YESSSS <3333

  • such a great song! Genius.

  • ▲ ▲

  • @wwjdftw2 newfag

  • what a sweet tune...love that

  • i am doing a Macbeth project and i want to know if anyone has any songs that they think can relate to Macbeth.

  • @rockfan143 maybe jack the ripper

  • This and St. Andrew are my favorite songs on the album.

  • HOW DID THEY DO IT (its something a god would listen to)

  • @iommi0 I totally agree with you.

  • wow i just wanna fight to this song!!!!! its sooo goood!!!!

  • Reminds me of Battle of Evermore by Led Zep. good song.

  • Makes me think of Jeff Smiths BONE. I don't know why

  • this is one of my all time favourite stripes songs

  • awesome. Jack White is better than any classically trained musician I know in terms of composition.

  • @BenjaminPaulWoodham

fucking idiot. most white stripes songs are the same chord progression. They all sound the same.

    1: the denial twist

    2: white moon

    3: take, take, take

    4: passive manipulation

    5: my door bell

6: You Don't Know What Love Is [You Just Do As You're Told

This is just the tip of the iceberg too. You should try listening to real musicians with real song writing talent.

tl;dr: Look a bit farther than MTV for your "music".

  • @BTARD4LIFE FUCKIN DOUCHEBAG

  • NO rival for sure...supercedes originality and creativity=ing pure joy :)

  • love it when the louder bass drums enter at 1:17

  • @stormo10 yeah...i dont think he makes any filler songs... i agree

  • sounds like some of the led zeppelin songs

  • this song inspired someone I know to get a celtic tattoo. Haha.. I love the white stripes. they can get away with anything and each time get better and better. :)

  • love this soo much

  • a song about pahnn maybe

  • There is mandolin and bagpipe... but is there a hurdy-gurdy too?

  • i think that maybe there might just be.

  • sounds a little like the beatles psycdelic stage.

    ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • jack white is from scotland originally i think

  • Jack White was born and raised in Detroit. He's of Scottish descent, however.

  • This is a great song, why is it so hard to find?!

  • wat? its right here?

  • this isnt scottish you are retarded if you think that

  • Thistle

    Bagpipes

    St. Andrew

Jack white said this is for Scotland, his roots, so I'd say it is...

  • This is not Scottish music, but a tribute to Scotland. It does have a Scottish Smallpipe, which may make it psuedo Scottish I guess.

  • hm, Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland..

  • It;s kinda fitting. In Britain, the west and north is kinda like the American south, in the toubles history and relationship. And he we have a perfect marriage between the American south (the guitar) and the British north (bagpipes)

  • I believe it is a mandolin in the song, not a guitar.

  • fore sure

  • makes me wanna dance!!Who's with me?!?!

  • yeah,, wooohooo

  • pure genius

  • Love this song! It makes me want to go fight in some clan wars!

  • they rock!

  • I love this song!!!

  • Brilliant song!!!! Did they write this because they are of Scottish heritage?

  • Very Scottish

  • laidilaidilaiyooooohooooo
