someone said that at the end of the first movie will be the scene where Griffith and Guts fought with Zodd at the tower. but as far as i know, skull knight hasn't appeared by that time and the movie showed him already. Could anyone explain this to me? Because I really hope that the first movie would end where the anime series had ended to.

@mau345 The old anime series was 25 episodes of 30 mins each... thats like 12 and a half hours of anime. This movie would be 3 hours at the very most...

@harizotoh7 really? i've misunderstood it all along. i thought the first movie was about golden age where the ending was the eclipse. But it's actually only golden age in the 3 movies.....tsk, and then will they actually continue making movies for the rest of the story? cause this is what fans were actually waiting for, a production for the rest of the story.... i'm a bit disappointed if this were true, but better than nothing at all right? and i bet this will still be an epic movie series.

@mau345 The news story say it's going to be an adaption of "the entire story". Some preview pics shows Puck, and Tard-Casca. I guess if these films do well, they'll keep adapting the entire series. I'm hoping for a Lost Children movie.

@harizotoh7 i think they wouldn't... the lost children had a lot of chapters but its impact to its overall story is too little and it looks like they won't be doing that. i think its better that after these 3 movies, make an anime series so that everything will be shown without any thoughts of conserving too much time or money. Let the japanese handle it. if they can make other boring animes weekly, why not berserk? (it's actually one of my frustrations)

Also, the character design seems to have been degenerated to conform to a more generic modern anime style. A shame because Miura's original character designs really stood out. I mean, at 0:03 who the hell is that? I know it's Casca but she now also looks the same as about 5 other anime girls that come to mind right away... rrrgh now I need to see the whole movie!

I'm stoked for this and will certainly pay to see it, but there is just no denying it. The cg Zodd and horse riders look like shit. It's the same with the new Evas/Angels in Rebuild. While we get really clean, awesome looking animation in parts, these cg zombies trundle in and make it look plain silly. Their frame rate doesn't even match up to the rest of the animation, and it always looks all herky-jerky.

well ya i believe everyone feels the same but the series took like 5-7 years to animate because its all hand drawn where this we might get a release like every year since its motion captured. Change is good especially since its berserk

Im kinda happy and sad about this. Happy because of a proper epic remaster of the fantastic original score. I'm also a little sad because, the beauty of the original Berserk was that the animation was in fact so pure and good that you could develop entire sequences with a single frame. Call me an old fogey, but I preferred the simple old hand drawn long cell take stuff. Eva and Berserk forever.

@Cornwiggle not that close; the character designs (ESPECIALLY Griffith) are much closer to the manga style in the upcoming film than in the older anime (the characters in the anime are more stylishly angled than the manga). I do agree, however, that the CG (ESPECIALLY Nosferatu Zodd) can be distracting.

I wouldn't say it's the quality of a dreamcast game. The polygon count is much, much higher, with big, clean textures and a high framerate. Lots of motion. Some parts with 3D animation look good, and others stand out too much, but I wouldn't say it looks bad. I'll judge when it's out and refined more.

And... if there's any reason to watch Advent Children, it's for the animation. It'll make absolutely no sense plotwise if you haven't played FFVII, though.

They just took the characters from FF7 and then threw every anime cliche they could into that movie. It's like, market researched and shit. The scene where they kill Bahamut (clearly the most popular summon, albeit totally irrelevant to the plot) is maybe the worst thing I've ever seen.
