@darkbat657 Me, too. The tone of their guitars---such creamy saturation and sustain---really presses the "green with envy" button. Man, can these guys play, or what?
this tune was 33 years OLD at this show !!!! can metal be any more incredible! What amazingly powerful music and delivery!!! I clicked the like button till I fell asleep.................
I saw them live on the same tour, front row when they came to St. Paul, whitesnake opened for them, and on that particular day put on a better show, but victim of changes was certainly by far the best song of the day, hate to see theese rockers gettin old but they still got it!!
@JohnDoe66669 He's not in bad shape he just got older it is logical that his vocal range isn't the same as 30 years before. He still does better than most of the singers.
@JohnDoe66669 Then what the hell did I hear at 2:51, a dying cat? I don't think so. Halford's shape is as good as the thousands of bands' that have started because of Judas Priest over the last 30 years.
@JohnDoe66669 I saw him live a while ago, and his screams nearly made me deaf so I don't know what you're talking about. Beside, the man's over 60, and is in better shape than most singers, including the new ones who re in their 20s.
@SLASHdaROCKER they've had gadgets for that kind of high pitched screaming since at least the late 1990s... see cradle of filth, dani has one attached under his microphone. Halford is a case of decrepitude setting in, needs to retire asap
@JohnDoe66669 what the hell are you talking about? I've seen Halford just walk up to any old mic and sing one hell of a scream. Rob doesn't use gadgets for his voice. If you don't like it, don't listen, and shut up too.
going to see these guys on 10-4-11 I can't say that I don't feel a bit disappointed that KK isn't going to be there but I am still going to enjoy every minute of that show
I can't believe this is better than their older live versions of this, but it just may be. KK was ripping it up like it was his last time to ever touch a guitar. And Rob was giving it 110 % on my favorite Priest song! Rock Forever!!!!!
@9pixals You better believe !! In my opinion it is way better than many many versions within the last 30years !! ......Keep in mind te best version of ,,Unleashed,, is not realy Live !!
@WatchMenX1 if there is a Heavy Metal Trinity, it is Black Sabbath (for the Heavy), Judas Priest (for the Metal), and Metaalica (for the Nice 'n Heavy). People disagree about the third one (Iron Maiden, some say), but there is no doubt about the first two.
I still believe that "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" contains the Heaviest Riff Ever...
Let's all pay homage to Ken Downing; he has been an inspiration to generations of guitarists and is surely one of the greatest of all time. He cannot be replaced, it simply can't be done. His departure heralds the final shutdown of the mightiest metal machine that ever was. Let's count ourselves lucky, those of us who have seen them over the many years that were, and have lived with and loved their music for so long.
I´m doing very important exams the week ahead but I can´t learn when I listen to this JP music. Nevermind. It´s great indeed, despite Im´an outsider among other 20 years old.
HHHHHHHOOOOOOLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYY SSSSSHIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTT!!!!! I think this might be the best version ever of this song. Halfords voice is now brutally good. At the end he hits an A# which is higher than 99.9% of rock singers have done. Scott Travis rules. Tipton and Downing are 2 of the best guitarists on the planet. And Ian Hill is such a fuckin solid bassist. Whoever chooses the bands for the rock and roll hall of fame can lick my balls for not having Priest in there.
when i first heard the rising in the east first thing i thought was "fuck what happened to his voice, especially in painkiller, cause in the rest of the dvd his voice was kicking some serious ass.in the last 3 years or so his voice not only has become better but has turned into something that can give u nightmares for the rest of your life(in a very nice way).in the past maybe he hit high notes easier but was a bit not so brutal.i prefer him now.sad to hear about KK's leaving PRIEST for the moment
@dionkeykong Actually I like the way he sung Painkiller on the Rising dvd the only song that pisses me off is Exciter. Funny thing is I saw the show live and was so psyched when he did Exciter I didn't even notice his voice
what a great band!!! always the best metal band!!!!! awesome, magnificent, perfectly played solo, good for antology of guitar.. who talk against metal is idiot.... pure energy band...thanx man!!!
Man can you imagine it Priest penned this tune in 1974 released it in 1975 and here they are playing it to a packed house and hailed (rightly so) as metal Gods How big a blast must it be to play a song from 74 today this song is part of the vision that was Priest pure and righteous written when they were startin out no wonder it sounds FUCKIN awsome!!! Fair Fucks to ya Priest ya Rule!!!!!!!
I have to agree, this is a great version of this song. Rob has lost a bit on some of the high stuff now but think of how many times he belt out those high notes! I saw them in this tour and they were fantastic. I have to say one of the best Priest concerts I ever saw and I seen 11 of them over the years!
I have to disagree. This version is excellent. Sure, he can't pull off the high notes like he used to, but when he does, they have a more sinister feel to them (the strain, I guess). It's gonna take a lot more than touring to destroy Rob's voice. @14JudasPriest Saying he sucks shows your lack of intelligence. I love the Metal God Rob,but these live shows are going to do his voice in for good. Stay in studio rob. You've nothing to prove.
am i just imagining that or is Robs voice getting better as he gets older?
i think he has now such a rough undertone which he didn`t had in the early 80s
Glenn Tipton and KK Downing are doing such a great solo beginning at 4:05 that u can only be stunned by that amazing finger movement. Scott Travis is also doing a great job by accompaning this great song with his great drummin skills
This is by far the best version of Changes I have ever heard, and I do listen Priest for a long time!!! Rob sings like he's 30 years younger :), KK's solos are just at a loss of words and of course there's her majesty Scott's Double Pedal!!!
A bit different from the original, but very good...Rob*s vocal is still **oldschool** at some places, but it*s rather differ*s from old times))and this is great for me!!!

@MacLotr I Realise they're getting old but no one seems to care ! I always prefer 1982 Memphis version... So much energy in the vocals, and just look at their acting ! Ok they're still awesome but there is nothing wrong to admit they are also victims of changes !
