do you guys have any plans on adding the track heat intake manifold to the new top end kit ? that will be amazing. besides we could get a little discount if it comes with the kit.

you said it has trick flow heads, cams and tb. what else does it really have? i can see a colder intake and long tube headers.
and how much more horsepower will this engine produce with this combo and the addition of a trick flow intake manifold? is it worth the 800 dollars of the intake manifold price?
@TFStech I have a 1995 Mercury Cougar XR-7 with the 2V 4.6 Romeo, with the top end kit do you think I would yield the same results for RWHP? I have a TR-3650 in the car with a 3.55 TL diff.
@TFStech why are the TFS heads 185s? thats alittle to big for just 281ci as a N/A street motor. my 4.6l with stage 2 TEA ported 2v heads are 176s with 500/500 cams 10.4:1CR it made 394hp at 5.900 RPM and 386trq at 4.300RPM. i put it in a 1970 mustang fastback. im also looking at the big bore 5.0 and stroking it to 322, i think i might use the 185 TFS heads for it since ill have more cubic inches. i can see TFS 185s on a stroker or the 5.4l but not a 4.6l without a blower.
@JerZeyFiveOh yeah it's a stage 2 tea ported head's with 1mm bigger valves, my cam's were listed in my comment on you tube. theyre 500. lift cam's i just cant remember my duration, maybe it 246/248 or something like that. comp-cam's with matching valve train.
@1962Galaxie514ciMPFI And you made 394hp? Was this a freshly rebuilt motor or like a top end build. That is really impressive numbers for those cams, and heads. I looked at the flow numbers and they were 220 intake, 201 exhaust I think. The compression also as well but wow still amazed man.
@JerZeyFiveOh all new motor. my 10.4:1 CR is pump gas friendly. the cams are very street friendly, good vacuum for my powerbrake's. the 4.6's can make some streetable power, stroker's can touch 490-520hp, 5.4l little more. N/A, and no nitrous. the big bore 4.6l im buying for my crown vic will be stroked to a 327ci i'm converting my 4 door vic into a 2 door. the guy's at TEA know what they are doing with modular head's, they get impressive number's. stay away from the NPI head's.
@1962Galaxie514ciMPFI I'm very amazed it made that power N/A. The flow numbers are so much less than then Twist Wedge 2v heads and it still made close to the same horsepower, that cam must have magic in it haha. I have the stock NPI heads on my 96 GT and want to do a top end build currently it has 97k on it so putting fresh heads and cams will really wakening it up. If I can get 340-350rwhp out of it, I would be certainly happy for the time being until i build the motor for boost.
@JerZeyFiveOh those flow number's are at higher lift range's i believe! the 4.6 will easily make 330-350hp at the wheel's N/A! you need compression, good flowing head's with 1mm bigger valve's and exhaust, tune, injector's 75mm throttle body, and a PI intake. rebuild your block add flat top piston's. it need's rebuilt any way. throw away your NPI top end! they are horrible. you will have a steady rock solid reliable street motor. tran's rebuild too. add 3.55:1 gear's and your good to go
the TFS head's are not good for a N/A street driven 4.6l. if forced induction was used then they would be about the best head for a 4.6l, the reason being because there is more air being forced in the port's for more low end torque on the street, then there wouldnt be a problem. you should add a 5.0 stroker to your 4.6l and cam's for your build and then you would have 370-410hp at the wheel's. N/A of course.
@1962Galaxie514ciMPFI Well the they have two styles the 38cc head, and 44cc. I want the top end kit because later I'm going to use those heads and most likely get them race ported to match the positive displacement blower I want to throw on all said and done. If I went with PI head route and scrambled all the pieces to do a top end build on the car, later down the road I would have get rid of the heads which can be a pain in the butt. I know I can get atleast 330rwhp out of it the way it sits...
@1962Galaxie514ciMPFI part 2.........if i use the trickflow top end kit. I know the numbers wont be crazy high because over the years motor loose a slight bit of compression but I know I can get a lot out more out of it. There is a slight dish on the stock shortblock so throwing TEA PI stage 2 heads with a cam probably net me maybe 10:1 compression. One thing two things that got me interested was the price of the heads and the power they made for your setup.
@JerZeyFiveOh well to be honest with you, if your planning on boosting the engine you need a rebuild, you cant put boost on your engine with that kind of miles and expect it to last long. you need a forged bottom end, and studded heads, aint much too do. built tran's and axle to handle that output. expect to shell out more than 10,000 grand for your car build. or under 5.000 grand for a N/A 4.6l!! it's your call man
@1962Galaxie514ciMPFI Oh yeah I'm definitely going to rebuild it with forge internals, but my dilemma for now is doing a mid-build with either Ported PI's, or TFS setup. That is all I'm asking...When I graduate college and get a career I'm going to really build it, but for now I can't stand having 200rwhp lol. You get picked on by anything and everything. So what it comes down to is those two options with the stock long block. What do you think sir?
@JerZeyFiveOh there is a top end swap kit for the NPI motor that will yeild you about 290-305hp at the wheel's. for under 1.300 i think! look in carcraft.com search for mod motor rock's there you will find the company you need to buy the kit from. im 23 i drive a truck i bring home a 1.200 pay check every week so i have a little money to throw around when you get you career situated by 6-9 year's you will probably bypass my yearly earning's......
i will top out at around 120.000 a year when im 40. if i go to drive a tanker those guy's top out at 200.000 a year. that top end kit will help you get with program until you get enough money for your blower. then im sure not many ppl will talk shit about your car
@1962Galaxie514ciMPFI Haha your a cool dude my friend. Work hard you'll make it to the top! I'll definitely check that top end kit out too, but I wouldn't mind spending under 2000 for the heads, and nice cam to suit it ported of course, but if money is tight that second option would suit me as well. My 96 GT been the butt end of jokes every once in a while, the car isn't heavy, its just the power can't match the weight. A 12 second performer on the street can hold its on, especially N/A.
@JerZeyFiveOh sheeeeet drivin a truck is easy brother. simple and yet i get to listen to my diesel and my metal music at the same time. cant beat that! im gettin off ttyl
i heard that its not good to mod these 4.6l's past 400hp because of some sort of complication. is that true? or just bullshit?

Can I use the coyote heads on a 4.6 engine, and do you guys have anny plans yet for making a set of heads for the new 302 dohc coyote
lions66666 3 months ago
We do not have numbers on a 5.4L sorry. As far as the 4.6L goes, yes with a 5 speed you are looking at about 330 at the wheels.
TFStech 4 months ago
can we see a 5.4l on the dyno with these heads? as i want to build a sleeper tbird and think this would be a nice torquey all motor combo...
TheWalshzilla 4 months ago
The most over rated heads ever.

@shokokrispi What you see on it is what comes in the Top End Kit. If you would like the intake you will see about 20 addition HP.
