@mikeyorange --Thanks for your note...No, I don't do any electric, I'm strictly acoustic. Jeff does these solo shows at the Vic in Chicago, just he and his acoustic guitar, that are tremendous. Anyway, good luck with the song and keep up the great work with your photography!
Samuel: Thanks, man. I play the Lincoln Ave. circuit...Lilly's, Wise Fool's Pub; my favorite haunt is the Bird's Nest, 2800 N. Southport. Had a nice run of gigs there, but have opted to take some time off: last outing, I asked the crowd to be quiet and "listen" to a new song (means a lot to me) and my request went unheeded/unappreciated. So a little soul-searching in order (no existential angst, mind you). But perhaps I need to search out different venues, etc.
holy shit!!! it is amazing what you find when "surfing the web" and network sites like facebook! sounds good-keep up the good work...i didnt know you were a "famous" chicago singer...hope all is well with you. in cary still??
It sounds great man. The guitar work is good, but I can't understand why you rush into certain parts. Not to be a critic, but you should take your time instead of skipping measures to get to the good parts. It's sort of off-setting. Take your time and let the song happen....Jeff composed it that way for a reason. It's a short enough song as it is! Great job though.
I like dusty old strings too. Don't change 'em until the wear out...They wore out shortly before this was recorded...so there you have it, shiny new strings for "Sky Blue Sky" Thanks for your imput.
cool...I was just working this one out. Now I can cheat. Doing any of the electric stuff from this album?
