@DdgeShelby Never competed we thought about it but I never got involved enough to find out. I am in the process of rebuilding part of the car so I may or may not try next year.
@3dd4ff5 yeah but someone with a 13b in a miata can not say they have a 2JZ in their miata now can they. its not how well it runs its all about the build BTW im pretty sure a 2JZ would stomp a mudhole in the 13b just sayin
If you are worried about blowing up a rotor every time you drive it you must have little confidence in your engine builder or don't know how to treat and care for a rotor.
Don't get me wrong I like what you have done. I thought about getting my FC swapped to a 2j when I had mine rebuilt. Previous owner clearly knew nothing about rotors and sold me a car with little life left in it.
50 000km engine my arse. The old reputation that rotaries are unreliable is no longer true.
@ebmgypsy It is not that bad. The best thing you could do is buy a Flyin miata blank crossmember and make the mounts it would allow the motor to sit alot lower. The engine fitment in the engine bay is good all I had to do was cut the top radiator support but it does stick through the hood a bit.
@ebmgypsy It is a 2JZGE out of a 95 supra with a W58 5 speed trans out of a non turbo supra with a rx-7 turbo II rear. The suspension and everything else is still miata.
@kalanielderts I have lowered the timing as much as it will go and I have a gte head gasket to bring the timing down a bit. I will be running a AEM FI/C soon so I will be able to control the timing better. I hope it runs better the second go round.
@Wopadas Just a wild guess, prob not too far off stock. Depends on passengers, but the stock is iron block and motor. I think the 2JZ is similar weight. I know that an LS swap is almost if not lighter than the stock BPZE
You aren't running out of injector bud. No tunless you're making about 460whp at 12 psi on a bone stock GE with a single conversion. You're probaly making about 300-315 whp here.

Did GRM let you compete without a hood?
How much of a PITA was it to shoehorn that in there?
I've seen LSx swaps, but never a 2JZ

This totally makes up for all the 'gay hairdresser' comments these cars have ever received. Totally awesome execution of mod!

The popcorn your making is melting your pistons lower the compression ratio add fuel less ignition timing
