What is the moron in sunglasses talk about? He sounds like a very uneducated fool. The reason for the crisis in US is the broke state. Raise your taxes or face a much more horrifying situation in the future.
Obama is the new FDR - growing the government and government welfare programs. Where is the safety for the Americans? All we get are gangs in our neighborhoods, illegal immigrantion, and a bad police force. Why are they hiring such low lifes in the police force? Who is protecting the tax paying citizens of America? In a man made society we have obligations and so does the government we create have obligations to the people.
First of all the Government isn't stupid enough to try and take away our firearms. Yes they have been slowly encroaching upon our freedoms and liberties, but no president would ever try to put that into action. People would rise up against such a proposal, and do you really think U.S. troops would fire upon their own people? Why not have an expertly trained mercenary contracting group, whom employ foreign operatives instead? Blackwater.

This kind of talk only gets those who are so worried about Obama being elected president upset even more. Why do these people want to cause fear so much? I know it's a powerful motivator and can cause people to act in ways they normally wouldn't. So, stop it with the "they won't take my guns" or "marshal law is coming" there is no one saying these things and no evidence thus far that any of either those two things happening.
Have you been paying attention? This isn't fear mongering, it is simple realism. Being prepared is preferable to being caught with your pants down. Don't think for a moment that you will be given fair warning if something pops off. Besides, Dr. Paul is being nothing but reasonable. There is pragmatism in the words.
You rights are being infringed upon, just look beyond what the mainstream news is feeding you. It only takes a few moments of your time to read up on laws that have passed.
I agree Dr. Paul was great. He didn't feed into this guys set ups to create fear, that's why I like Dr. Paul and supported him. I want you to also know that I have been very informed as to what this administration has done over the last 8 years. But I'm not going to hold up in my home with a loaded gun waiting for the secret police to knock on my door.
You should read Blackwater. The Bush administration essentially has a paramilitary group outside of the military, under it's direct control. Katrina is an example of how Blackwater was used to be on site first, with the most amount of fire power for the means of "security". After a natural disaster, people need food, water, supplies. Not thugs armed with fully automatic weapons on American soil, taking firearms the general population in the name of "order".
Blackwater isn't under the direct control of the President, where did you get that idea? Blackwater is directed by the State Department, Condi signs their paychecks.
Yes, I think you have. The President has DIRECT control of the military branches. Blackwater is a private contractor, who is contracted by the State Department. Blackwater can be fired, not by the President himself but by Condi. Sure the President can ask Condi to fire them but she doesn't have to, unless she agrees to. See the direct connection now?
Boomer1949 I guess what you're saying is that the sky is blue and the birds are singing so there is no way a hurricane is coming. Don't prepare, the government will take care of us. Hmmmm.... interesting forcast.
Have you watched I.O.U.S.A? Watch the 30 min. one here on YouTube. I know you can find it. If your a babyboomer (as I forcast), I think your gonna find it interesting.
It is not a sunny forcast like you are alluding to. You know the Boyscout motto, don't ya. "Be Prepared".
Yes, I watched that video a while back. Yes our country is in debt and it's growing everyday. The SS and Medicare have been used to pay part of the bill on a monthly bases. Does that mean I need to fear my future retirement, or fear that SS and Medicare won't be there when I retire. NO, it might change but it's going to be there in one form or another.
SS is just another tax that they have spent to keep the war machine going. It's all gone! There is no account with your money in it. We have been ripped off and the only way the government is going to survive is inflation and taxation. No other way. Lets see if retirement age gets raised again. Move the carrot of retirement out a little so the working donkey still strives for it. Time will tell, but based on past performance of the government, I'd say we're screwed!
I think there are other ways to save our country other than taxes and inflation. What about saving money, cutting back on the huge military industrial complex we have to support around the world? Other countries seem to be pretty secure without having a military base in other countries. With our massive arsenal, what do we have to fear? What about all these subsides to oil companies? With their profits do they need our tax money too?
Boomer1949 I wanted to thank you for the correspondence. You are obviously intellegent and have not been rude in your responces, so kudos to you!
Obama will be the new deal. More government programs, more hand outs. The FED will continue to "print" money and buy up banks. (you know the FED is a private compnay, right). There will be no cuts for the empire i.e. foreign aid, military, bases in 170+ countries (we pick up the tab for policing the world)
There is plenty of oil. The prices were pumped up from speculation. Look at the price now. I don't think there will be record profits for a while now.
Have you watched "The energy non crisis"? It seems to be a play book for what is happening now.
Getting rid of all of the subsidies will never happen. To many lobbiests and to many patsy congressmen that won't stand up for our country. They love to spend, hence the central bank and unending "created" debt for the taxpayers of our country.
My eyes are wide open and I refuse to be cowed by someone telling me I should be afraid. What would you do if the government came to your door and asked for you turn over your guns? I mean really, what would you do? Say no? Or would you give them only the registered ones?
Personally, I don't own a gun. My dad has one, but I'm actually really confused. Are you that brainwashed by mainstream media that you deny that our freedoms are being taken away?
Ok, the right that I have personally experienced having been taken away is the right to protest. Even with a permit, people are arrested and manhandled. I know the Patriot Act is sited as "taking my rights away" but I just don't see it effecting me personally or anyone I know. Have you had your rights violated and if so, what did you do about it?

Bush pissed on the constitution for 8 years without consequence so why would there be a big uproar now?
He didn't take the guns but he took your wallet then handed you the bill.
Hope he and his croneys, Paulson, Cheney etc have a good life in Dubai.

Hmmm.... State department=federal (executive) beauracracy. Condi=Employed by the President.
Fairly simple equation, unless I've missed something.
