  • ahh when rockers were rockers .......

  • Happy 50 Kurt!

  • When I was a junior in high school this was the album to have. Not one bad song on this lp. Timeless!

  • do ya wanna know about the new sex position? i thought i knew "em all,

  • Just waitin' to be sampled, chopped, and rhymed over. Peace.

  • @MuzikJunkyAES pleas´ no!

  • This man made me discover syncopation! This was one of those "optical illusions" for the ears that had me mesmerised for years. I got a few of his first albums before he went jazzy. Where has he gone???

  • used to be a great punk rocker loved look sharp and all the songs on it

  • Saw Joe at the Stone Pony in asbury park years ago. Great show!!!!!

  • Great band, Bass riff kicks ass. Thanks for the post

  • Did anyone buy the copy of this album with the little pin that was mounted inside the album cover? It said "Look Sharp". :o)

  • @bigkittysmile

you tube is good for refreshing the memory. it's a valid benefit of and usage for this technology, don't you think?

  • It's sad as a 2000's teen. I have to go back to the 60's to early 90's for better music with real talent.

  • WHEN THIS RECORD FIRST CAME OUT, MY FRIEND BROUGHT IT OVER TO PLAY IT I BOUGHT IT FROM HIM ON THE SPOT ,WOULD'NT LET HIM LEAVE THE HOUSE WITH IT SAW JOE IN NYC @ THE OLD FILLMORE I THINK EXCELLENT SHOW

  • Havent heard this since the late 70s.

was surfin thru 'Revolver' & saw Joe's name

    I love this shit

  • another killer tune i forgot about! kind of ska chords. but all so pure.

  • is there anyone here who can think of a joe jackson song that is not social commentry?

brilliant, i would say that it is unfair that he has so few views, but he does not strike me as self absorbed, music for the sake of music

  • saw him in san diego... he and his band are beyond superb

  • ''Look sharp'' one of the best albums, ever!

  • He should re-release this to capitalize on the Murdoch hacking scandal. "Is she really going out with him?" was the only big hit off this album (at least in the USA); there should have been 5 or 6, at least.

  • @lrd9999 It should become the theme song for Fox News

  • The original "Sunday Papers" , "The News of the World" , will cease publication after 168 years!!!! wow...this song really comes to mind

  • This song and Dirty Laundry turned me against the news media way back in the day.

Paul Simon once sang "I get all the news I need from the weather report".

  • Graham Maby on bass is THE BOMB.

  • @ttmor thumbs up for maby

  • Underrated artist.

  • I love Joe Jackson's music, he is the man!

  • myself...i`m happy to just hear this without havin to dig out dusty old cds...thank you...had this on 8 track,kids....sounded good in a 74 cutlass

  • @bodine23 never was on 8 track this is 1979.lp and cassette

  • @bobo007xx Put "joe jackson look sharp used 8 track" in a Google image search, you'll see it, pinch-roller and all. They were just winding down sales of the players around that time, you could still get tapes for a while after that. I don't remember them ever sounding really good, though Look Sharp was good enough to appreciate, even in low fidelity.

  • 3 people are gonna be in the sunday paper,in the obituary column

  • I was a big joe jackson when i was younger. I had this 10" white vinyl ep and forgot how good it was . Great band, great songwriting and love the bass playing...................

  • An album, that when it came out, we woulds laugh out loud. Joe is hilarious.

  • good rockin beat here mr.jackson,,cheers!!

  • Can someone say wake up Mother? The Sunday Tribune likes ya blind and dumb.

  • i love the shit out of that banging bass line!!!!!!

  • why so few views?!?!?!

  • @Jake29112 there are several videos for this song on youtube the original has almost 160,000

  • @evelynmh And it's the stupid live version of it =P

  • @Jake29112 there isn't anything to this,,,the other is the video performance of the song and is really great!! Daily Motion also has a version of this w/ Joe reading something out of an American tabloid ..quite amusing

  • i always loved how the lyrics deflate the pompousness of the narrator... joe jackson seems to be getting more attention lately, which is necessary i guess when punk and post punk have been mined and re-mined over two decades...

  • @mikebott

No kidding. All these great singer songwriters that got their names in the 80s, I'd always wondered why more musicians don't cite guys like Joe Jackson as an influence. He wrote some great stuff!

  • great bass riff

  • @grhr69 he always had great basslines, the player used a pick on the bass

  • His songs are equal parts melodic and sardonic. A great singer/songwriter/musician.

  • i have this album hes a rare artist and hes got awesome lyrics to his music thanks for posting this.

  • there was one Joe Jackson at my public library "Two Nights in Seattle and Portland" ...otherwise you have to special order them from Barnes and Noble

  • try going to a store to buy a joe jackson cd.nowhere to be found.

  • upon further review..they're a 3-piece ! except when joe plays keyboard...

  • this is my wedding song! :)

  • Comment removed

  • Punk back to to old timers....Yeah I remember..God you guys where good

  • Yahooo!!!!!!

  • damm good band .joe jackson is the men!!!!!

  • ...some funk!

  • Not nearly as much airplay as "Is she really going out with him?" This and "I'm the Man" defined Joe Jackson! Excellent!

  • I love the juxtaposition of the lyrics, which are really alienating and paranoid, against that strolling along on a sunny day, pedestrian sounding bass line. I know that sounds like I'm knocking the bass line, but that's not how I mean it at all. I think it's one of the best ever. Brilliant song!

  • One question... why is this available in "high quality' when it's just a picture ?

But this is a great song !!!

  • High quality for the sound my friend, Peace :)

  • what a great song! totally brings me back

  • Talk about "in the pocket"! Superb groove.

  • Lsiten to this bloke play the bass.

  • This is awesome! Joe's vocals make it so, but Graham Maby's bass is classic. Most of his early stuff is written for Graham Maby's bass...it's perfect!

  • Black coat/white shoes/black hat/cadillac-the boy's a time bomb! Such great music from that era, eh? Cheers, J.J.!

  • we love you JO

  • read about it in the sunday papers...

  • This song Sunday Papers by Joe Jackson sounds Reggae.

  • get down with the up-stroke!

  • thx for upload. i love it.

  • Truly one of the greatest albums of all time. Thankfully a new Joe Jackson on the up and up in the guise of Shane Barry and the Distractions. Check them out. Top class.

  • The part at 2:35 about The Gay Politician still cracks me up! "Yeah!" Thanks for a fun 30 year old memory about a timeless subject: Tabloid Junkfood!
