@Idiotsfilm101 , you can get free shipping with UPS (paid for by Microsoft) as long as your Xbox Console or accessory is still within warranty. This is done via a label which can be posted to you or emailed to you.

Otherwise you will have to pay for it.

Dude, my label has no 'sign here' fields. =) The guys at the phone told me "you must sign when the UPS guys come pick it up." So that means sign digitally with that little digital pen on their handwriting device. =)

I know how to fix the old xbox 360 if it has red ring of death 1 get two cotton buds 2 pull 1 head off each of the cotton buds 3 leave the xbox off for 10-15 mins 4 stick the xbox on and stick the 2 sides of the cotton buds what you ripped off and stick them where the fans are 5 leave for 30 mins 6 the red rings will go down from 3 then 2 then 1

If it's an E74 error the repair is free even if your warranty is expired. Sending mine in today. I had them mail the label to me and I received it the next day. It an official UPS label and is a sticker so I recommended doing that rather than printing it. My question is if I go to the UPS store with the label do I have to pay for packing materials?

@SkyBluesTillIDie if it's flashed, they likely wont repair it, since technically you opened your xbox, which automatically voids your warranty. There's always a chance that they wont catch it, unless it's obvious that you opened it up.

They probably wont even fix it even if you pay them if it's been modified. I would have figured out a way to put back the original firmware before sending it that way they wont catch it so easily.

If the warranty sticker was missing, you're pretty much screwed.

@THExKire it's probably too big and bulky to be covered by the shipping, so, UPS probably wouldn't ship it. Microsoft only wants the console, not the accessories and stuff, so, sending it in it's original box is pointless anyway.

Before any of you send your xbox in for repair, try turning the xbox off, holding down the sync button, keep holding it, turn on the xbox, keep holding it until your 360 boots all the way up. It worked for me :D
