I aint got a lot of Hollywood but I do have a couple of shows, I'm putting it up now, check my profile. When I get time Im gonna up a load more live ish from back in the day. Peace!
Thank you bro! these racist time is up bro, you know that right? lol! thanks for The Eddie Cheba bro! this took me back to when Hip Hop was about Love! Thanks Bro!
Oh I remember that most definitley! But we all know The SugarHill Gang was put together by Brenda Robinson just to make that record, and she saw the big big picture and she signed The SugarHill Gang to a Album deal and the rest is history yo! We used to get power from the Light poles and jam all summer yo,and we had a hookup with the police and they was patty duking too out that bitch! JHS 231 in Jamaica Queens!
You remember when Kurtis Blow, The Disco Twins, RunDMC ,Infinity Machine used to Jam at 231 back in the day? that was real HIP HOP! we had fun till that first gunshot popped off and after that you get ghost! I went to 231 and SpringField High School, did you?
haha no, but if i had a time machine that's where i'd go! back when MC's and DJ's NEVER rapped about violence because thats where they went to escape all that stuff!!
I'm only 20 but im a DJ myself, double majoring in business and music and lately i've been researching the ROOTS of REAL hip hop not the commercialized tragedy that it is today. i envy you and anyone else who experienced the beginnings of it.
Good for you my intelligent brother! Hip Hop was sweet in the beginning, we was dancing with the ladies and we had respect and we respected them, and brothers who was drug dealers was cool at a Hip hop show because they enjoyed the music man, and the DJ cutting that shit up feel me, and after a hard day a brotha wanted to hear that scratching on the turntables.
You pointed out something that I forgot. I remember the old block jams around my way and all the drug dealers, and so called hoodlums were always chill because it was always about the music. Youngsters of the modern era are being robbed by these Recording Companies.
Watch what ya asked for. I am from that time in Brooklyn and we use to have to keep shotguns in the large speakers with someone standing by if it all went wrong in the parks or the street parties. I still wouldn't change the experiences for the world.

The only thing i remembered about Eddie Cheeba is that he never seems to show up when he comes to Long Island. He was supposed to be at the Roosevelt Roller Rink back in 1978 and as usual he didn't show up.
Its a shame that the TRUE pioneers like him never got the props they deserved, but then again that's true of the pioneers of any type of music.
