Jimi Hendrix used some pedal to get his split signal hi-pitched squeal and used more distortion. His masterpiece. But really cool to hear Pete Ham play the parts of the record so well. Must have been great to be there.
This is unbelievable! Pete Ham is incredible. Replicating the record, yet with great emotion. Tighter than Hendrix did it. And Mike Gibbins!! Amazing!!! Ron Griffiths! Nice job, Mr Ivey! This should get more notice on YouTube. When will Ham be recognized? Could Eric Clapton have performed this!
Another blast from my past !! At least I / we know where this live set was recorded. As our American friends would say ( but with queens english spelling ) That was yet another kick-arse performance..in its day at least. Ron Griffiths ( Bass guitar and overdone vocals ! )
If this is the Iveys, why did they record so many MOR pop songs? It would have been nice to hear a harder sound like "I've Been Waiting" (from the Ivey's album) and less "See Saw Grandpa" (from the same album). Fortunately, they found their sound sometime in 1970-1971 with a balanced sound combining great pop songs, musicianship and beautiful, touching ballads.
@barnett8700 too true, this is pete and the boys doing what few great bands can do,,what a band ,they got even better when badfinger emerged ,,pete ham ,,legend,,
If indeed this really is the Iveys, it's mighty impressive. Pete had so much ability; and I still can't get over the fact that it all went to waste when he killed himself. I try to play 1/100th as good as Pete Ham; in short I'm fairly talentless, but I still want to Go On Living...
great players

Yes, they EARNED their fame and legend. Even Mike is fantastic here. You have to listen hard to hear Tom, but I think I can.
