Yes, finally someone with ears, Cause of Death is THE definitive Obituary album. Slowly We Rot is good too but doesn't have the best production. I can't think of a more brutal guitar tone then this, perhaps the first Entombed album comes very close.

Al's soloing, while not flashy and full of sweep picking, is very distinctive and I agree fits Obituary's sound. That being said, James Murphy was the final ingredient that made "Cause of Death" the best DM album of all time. Al just would not have made it sound that good had he been available in '90.
