Depends what you mean by better... Bach wrote more complicated counterpoint but Handel wrote better pieces for vocalists by far. Not to mention that, but he was much more renowned in his lifetime than Bach.
This video reminds me of SATICA 2009 in Durban, my choir,Medunsa chorale, sang it and it was a baroque, slighty detached, i enjoyed it so much, we were singing unto God , especially the running notes of bass and alto, they were rocking. SOLO tenor made my day. i love this song".Keep the good work HANDEL" looking forward to singing most of your songs.
Exemplary! For some reason Handel's English works are never performed with this kind of insouciant elan outside of Britain. --from an American anglophile whose choir is singing this chorus day after tomorrow on Easter Sunday.
I also agree with nessie96. We hear lots of soprano and tenor, but not much bass and alto. The orchestra is wonderful, as well as the soloists. What a beautiful piece.
Great choir.Thanks for sharing....(¸.•¨¯`*•●♥Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ♥...

I love Haendel but Bach is better and the Beatles far surpass both of them.

This piece is like a coronation piece. It's very lively. Well done.

Sing unto God and high affections raise to crown this conquest with unmeasured praise.....

Handel of all composers must be served up pipping hot. He was a rocker. People, this is not a song, it is a chorus. A song is a form in itself.

I love this chorus. The bass line of the last few bars is amazing - with a good rit on it you feel totally epic.

## This must be as good as the definitive recording - if such a thing exists.

I am very impressed, especially by the soloists, very proffessional. Melismata are very impressive, in a clear baroque style. BRAVO!!!!!!

Is that Andreas Scholl singing the countertenor at the beginning? It sounded very much like him!

No. It is James Bowman.
