I perform this trick just a bit differently and I think more effectively. You do NOT need to set up the deck. Just say this is an ESP trick and pick up a random deck not set up. You "randomly" pull cards as you look at a spread of the deck. You only pull reds in the first half and blacks on the rear half. When showing the piles, let the person begin flipping the correct pile, while you pull up the "wrong" pile. If you simply flip cards from top to bottom, so they come up in reverse order.

I suggest to place three top cards (those 3 top cards are 10 of any suit, 4 of any suit, and 10 of any suit) then say "okay, I'm gonna get three top cards, then add that three top cards, to say how many cards are we gonna put down,( so the total of it was 24)..{You can also use K,Q, and J for the ten cards}

NOTE: Do a false cut or false shuffle first to say that it was a shuffle or cut
