The new design of this agitator or "pulsator" is referred to as an impeller. The reason behind it being an estimated rotations per minute (if that's what your referring to) is due to how large the load is. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Most objective testing by consumer research groups put Whirlpool (& Maytag) at or near top of washing effectiveness for "modern" washers. And special HE detergent is demanded by all HE washer makers now. Don't blame Whirlpool for these high-efficiency demands enacted by mis-guided left-wing gov't bureaucrats. "High-efficiency" means NOTHING if it takes multiple cycles to clean your clothes, or 2 flushes of your toilet, etc, etc, etc.
Publicity gimmicks....you can just look at this joke and tell what it cannot do....and listening to the person speaking, you just wonder how many people they could actually get to believe this crap....Laundry Fact 101: You need water to clean effectively.

these washers do NOT clean your clothes good! I had to wash my clothes at the laundry mate just to get em clean! The He dryers work really well though.
