Groovy sounding music! I love when you review compilations, this one was worth it...of course I'll listen to R. Stevie Moore-have a good night Anthony :)
You've come a long way dude! I watched your videos when you first started; my name was jebbypanny then. Not to flatter, but I believe that you're the new face of music criticism. Your reviews are constructive and informative, something that's really lacking these days. Never give up, and you'll go even further. Take care!
p.s. I purchased Pomegranates thanks to you, and it's really fab! I'll look into this one too!
@taylor975 Taylor, I have no clue, man. :-P That would be a lotta albums to choose from. I would probably have to narrow it down to albums I physically own, and some of my favs would probably end up being Mission of Burma, Talking Heads, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, the Unicorns, Wire, Frank Zappa, and more.
@bishicutu Sent to me by a PR group, but I've been on to what Analog Africa has been doing. They're a fantastic label. If you love this compilation, I recommend others, seriously.
Ahhh, TheNeedleDrop, afro-beat compilations and R. Stevie Moore, this is where it's at! One thing though, if you like this hypnotizing percussion, I don't see why you wouldn't like more techno music, you should try out one of the Basic Channel compilations.
I miss the feel of old Needle Drop reviews like this one.... I dunno. Kinda ineffable. Maybe it's the more lo-fi-ish video quality

This is a pretty late comment, but you might very much enjoy 'Guinée 70 - The Discothèque Years (African Pearls series)'.

@rokyfan1981 Tell me if you think this comp lives up to Pomegranates. This comp is equally as fun, but from a different musical style, of course.

anthony i was wondering with all the albums you review what do you think is your fave album? or at least favourite album of the past decade perhaps?
