I LOVE this car but how does an American lay the money down for it when there's the Fiesta (and other nice American cars similar to it) when considering the tough economic times we're going through? What would one answer if someone were to ask, "Why did you give all that dough to foreign workers when our own people are hurting so much?"
I'm not looking to be flamed, just want to know the answer to my question in case I do decide to get one of these sweet machines.:-)
@guyNbluejeans last I heard, japanese automakers have been employing A LOT of American workers for the past few decades. Toyota has massive plants in Kentucky with 100% american workers on the line.
Since I wrote my post, I've done more research on the Fit. Specifically I went to a website of Fit enthusiasts and read a bunch of posts that people wrote regarding the question of "What don't you like about your Fit?" It had several pages of complaints (though nearly all the folks said they still loved their Fits). They said: Paint chips too easily, too much hi-way noise, gas tank under driver's seat (dangerous!), weak AC, crummy carpet, stereo sucksFit=not4me
@guyNbluejeans Yikes I just bought a 2011 honda fit sport, and I'll let you know right now those negative points were never a problem for me. While the fit model may not appeal to you, check out the other models, I'm sure honda can do you justice, no matter what your automobile interests are.
@guyNbluejeans I've read that same thread and it was started in 2006. There's been a re-design of it and 5 models that have come out since it was started so many of those problems may be gone now that the fit isn't really "new" anymore.
@guyNbluejeans you are referring to the Fitfreak.net forums eh? Well only one person on a 1st gen Fit complained about the chipping paint. There have been no other complaints about it, road noise is normal, gas tank is not an issue (actually balances the weight of a car, much like a BMW, making it safer) AC is fine, carpet is cheap, stereo is adequate. What are you from the Ford Fiesta marketing division or something? Paid to slam the Fit in every youtube video?

Make the engine direct inject.... or turbo. The 117 is quite anemic sometimes.

@guyNbluejeans Yikes I just bought a 2011 honda fit sport, and I'll let you know right now those negative points were never a problem for me. While the fit model may not appeal to you, check out the other models, I'm sure honda can do you justice, no matter what your automobile interests are.
