I love God, but I think the true lesson behind this event is the need to keeping pressing on. Derek's father coming to aid him was an added blessing, but it was clear Derek was determined to finish the race with or without help. We too must have that courage because God doesn't help those who haven't done all they can first.

Heart determination to finish the race I say, he kept pushing no matter how much heart broken he lost that day. As he limped around the track, his father came waving to the medic to please get back..the son was in tears and in so much pain, the world will never forget the father and son 92 Olympic games. I just started immunosuppressant chemotherapy 5 days ago, I started so positive, thinking I was gonna just be able to do it all! On day 4 I got so sick and depressed, I could barely MOVE!
