  • I've been finding that it's easier (and safer) to step off this way, off the back. I've tried the other way and while most were successful, I had moments where I felt like I was going to fall flat on my face, and another time still somehow on the saddle, leg behind the peddle, forcing me to do the splits. Going off the back, my uni just lands resting against me, or I manage to reach out and catch it. I'm still learning to ride but making some progress.

  • I've been riding since I was 5 years old , so almost 11 years now , and you can't control which way you fall ,. I personally have hurt myself falling both ways , front and back ,. It doesn't matter which way you fall . Either way there is a chance you'll fall .

  • IT IS GOING TO HURT IF YOU ARE NOT WEARING A HELMATE LIKE ME

  • actually if you fall forwards, your foot may not come off the pedal and u just pedal twice as hard and hurt 2 times as many things. ive fallen tons of times and i think back is the best way. falling forwards has too many things that can go wrong. and falling backwards doesnt destroy your back. and what are you going to slip on, the gound? and it is technically a "bike"

  • wwhat a dipshit i agree with cavemanapps why the fuck not fall forwards you jus as easily land on your foot, its easier to fall frwards than fall back slip and destreoy ur back

  • oh and its not a bike you dipshit

  • screw "all that stuff"

  • Press 1 for Eiffel.

  • Dude there is no proper way to fall if you fall you fall 

  • how is there a good way to fall

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS :o)

  • everytime i ride it hurts my balls

  • ironic how he's preaching safety without wearing anything that he specified

  • You're retarded. For one, most of the time you can't control how you fall, escpecially if you do anything skilled (which you obviously don't), and IF you can control how to fall, forwards is better, you dipwad.

  • you cant really control how you fall....

  • I fell forward and broke my rib. I still get off forwards though.

  • You can't even inflate your tire properly, mate.

  • its going to hurt a lot on your foot when you do this okay?

  • STOP SAYING "OKAY"!!

  • This guy is horrible! I've been unicycling for 8 months and have only ever sprained my hand. You don't need a helmet or knee pads (wrist guards aren't needed for beginners, imo) And and I agree with Cave, that it's better to fall forwards, your hands can protect you that way. And you will scuff your seat (you will get what I mean eventually ;) )

  • looks like jim carey sounds like jason kutcher

  • looks like jim carey sounds like jason kutcher

  • ive had a unicycle for like two weeks ive not landed on my feet when bailing only one time

  • Fuck sake i cant watch any of these anymore with him saying ok and alright all the time

  • This is not good advice! I advice for you learners to fall forward and reach back with your dominant hand and catch the back of the seat. I have been riding for about a year and I have always used this method. When I was learning at first I would fall backwards and I nearly broke my tailbone. DONT GO BACKWARDS! (Thumbs up if you agree)

  • @cavemanapps Forward is also the best way when going down stairs, if you try backwards you get carded by the bike

  • @cavemanapps same

  • @cavemanapps better to break your tailbone then to smash your face on cement wouldn't you agree?

  • the chances are if u fall back u land on ur bottom HAHAHAHA n btw im further on than this n i learned how to ride one in an hour and a half

  • falling backwards hurts i never land on my feet when i go forward i ALWAYS land on my feet and seen im holding onto the handle i land on my feet and catch my unicycle (double win)

  • @draco3113 Exactly.

  • holey crap!!! put these vids in order and i might like it

  • do you sit on the seat or stabd up when you are riding

  • im starting to unicycle and these videos are going to be a great helop

  • @23lilbrian i meen help

  • i tryed that and ouch i smashed my balls

  • how to watch these tutorial steps from begginning to end ? They are not numbered (1,2,3... ) and i dont know . Im learning to ride unicycle and i wanna watch these clips in proper order. plz reply

  • @Janezk7 ok if u wanna know how to ride ask me cuz im in a unicycling club and we do all kinds of stuff

  • can you please say "okay" and "Alright" some more?

  • i hate how these videos r lik 1 minute and there is lik 20 of them but they r partners so y dont they just upload 1 long video?

  • This guy is incredibly annoying. Video is useful I guess...

  • theres no such thing as choosing how youre going to fall on a uni lol. if you lose your balance you hop off whichever way you can, usually by reflex/instinct.

ive been hurt more falling back than forward

    this guy sucks.

  • this guy is stupid, "okay"? he can barely ride himself

  • Ok, so GUYS, think about this... if you fall forward, when your foot comes down, the seat wraps around into your CROTCH (more painful I know this from experience). Some of you kids might want to have kids of your own some day...

  • hmmmmm....yes lets falll backwards and damage our spine and never be able to walk again..rather than hurting your wrist.

  • yes cus falling flat on your back always damages your spine....dumb ass your not gonna break your spine unless somehow you do a backflip and fall on your head or you fall on a metal spike which i doubt will happen

  • Lies! I'm a unicyclist and only fall forward. It's easier to just walk out of a fall.

  • haha... thats why u have ur back up helmet and safety gear...

    WHERE'S HIS HELMET MAY I ASK ???

and secondly... safety gear, if we had wrist/elbow guards and helmets,... it wouldnt matter if we fell forward ???

    explanation ???

  • Haha, go ride one bet you cant. ;)

  • @TrevorStaader i dont want to ride one...

  • "ok?"

  • hhmm falling backwards...

despite how easy the explanation is.... it's a bit scary to fall backwards while moving..

  • You step off the "bike" ?

  • i disagree with this video, i personally think its best to fall off the front you normally just end up running out of the crash without injury. ive had my fair share of problems when falling off the back

  • if u fall on the front side u can just run forvard and ur unycycle will just fall on the ground.

  • "OK" that's his catch phrase

  • lmao i noticed that. it bugs the crap out of me

  • That and "alright"

  • I've had less problems falling off the front than off the back. off the front you can just run it out.

Also, the bit about leaning back is misleading. At a constant speed your center of gravity must be exactly over the point where your tire sits on the ground. It's not optional.

What you really mean is sit up straight so that when you fall off you can land properly.

Especially since most UPDs will be off the front, when you hit a crack/bump in the pavement that you didn't notice.

  • holy shit! since when did John Stamos start uni cycling!?!?!?

  • why couldnt they put this all in one stupid ass video

  • cause they will get more views this way which in turn gives them more money

  • Learn aikido and you will fall without any pain :D

  • I put that comment b4 I got my first unicycle, I noticed that the places you hurt yourself the most on ur wrist and you only fall when you try a new trick or jumping or stuff like that

  • wtf, when you fall you dont expect it and you wont be like thinking on falling

  • I think he means, when you are done riding. Like getting off. But my video is still loading. So I dont know what hes doing.

  • You're just meant to get a habit of falling a certain way.

  • falling sucks, yo.

  • .... hmm... i think the point of FALLING is.. its not exactly planned... he makes it sound like.. OK im gonna fall now.. so i have to lean back here.. and.. ready?! ok.. *and down*.. no.. your like going and oh shoot your wheels too fast so back you go.. or too slow.. and forwards you go.. or.. your wheel stopped and you keep going.. forwards you go... its not like a choice.. i dont see when it WOULD be a choice and still be FALLING

  • he mentioned in a previous video that he keeps his balance slightly backwards.

  • why do unicycle always have low

    air (psi)

  • well depending where you live its to have more ground area friction but you don't wan't it to low cause if you don't have a air pack sit you'r gonna fill those jumps if you know what i mean

  • For some reason I find this guy hilarious, "it's gonna hurt your foot a lot less than it will your head"

  • Oh, that's stupid. What he showed is the correct way to DISMOUNT the unicycle, not to fall! The difference is that the dismount is voluntary action (because you want it, right?)

and falling is definitely NOT voluntary action, because you usually never know when you gonna fall.

Now that we have it corrected :-) the human being is constructed in a way that way we fall forward - because it's safer -- we can use hands end legs to protect ourselves from fall

  • wrong. falling on your butt is far better than tipping headlong toward the groud with your head/hands/elbows, especially at speed. You're more likely to get a leg under you and avoid falling altogether, less likely to skin yourself, etc. Not that ive tried unicycling, but I've done snowboarding, blading, and skateboarding.

  • EPIC FAIL

  • Man backwards scares me more, i feel like i will break my Ass or my head lol

  • I ALWAYS fall forwards! Yeah, if you're going fast enough there's a chance that you will scratch your wrists and whatnot, but if you fall backwards there's a chance you can land on your back or head!

  • this guy has no idea what he is talking about. the way he fell that he said was wrong is the right way to fall.

  • actually it's best to fall off the back of the unicycle, especially when it's a tall unicycle or a big unicycle because then you can tell where it will go and there is less chance of the unicycle catching on it's way down and smashing into your backside potentially breaking you tailbone or fracturing a vertebra.
