I have an rsx type s. I love both cars don't get me wrong but I don't think an rsx can take a z. But for a 4 cylinder to keep up with the 6 cylnder z is impressive
@cashflow609 it can easily be done. bolt-on a tuned RSX'S have beaten 350Z's, and i have also seen the Si do the same. stock, a 350Z dynos about 245+whp. a bolt-on tuned K20 can make 220-230whp depending on what bolt-ons. thats not much of a difference, and they're lighter. i know my car is a swap, but my 00 coupe with the singlecam weighed a little over 2500lbs. with my k20 swap and shitty intake, shitty header, stock exhaust (old mods), 350Z's were always losing. not that there isnt any faster
I love watching Honda's go against the "big hitters" such as the 350z.. If you know anything about cars you know that the RSX had a damn good engine producing 100 hp per liter. All you Z lovers can't say that about your beloved car with an engine in it as exciting as a mini van's. Sure the Z is a faster car, but if you bought a Type S and spent the money you saved on the correct mods you would end up with a much much better machine.
@MrJroesel a Z is a true bred sports car, and you think a rsx, which is basically a glorified civic is better?? Can you drift with RSX? Can you drag with a FWD effectively?? you want some real power IS300 or Supra(2jz-gte) all day. My IS300 stock would maybe keep up but ive got a small list of mods. HKS adj cam gears, and Brian Crower cam shafts, aem intake ca/i(wish it was the SRT), and a megan exhaust. A few others. i used to have an rsx-s with intake and full exhaust...i just bought an 04 350z and i spank type s stock...my friends s2k is modded (test pipes, headers, intake) and i still beat hime by around 2 cars every time.
my s2k will beat your 350z with my na 04s2k...ap1 is alot slower than ap2 so i guess u should race ap2 if you did..im guessing that ap2 is a shitty driver

I've driven both the DE and HR, there is a day and night difference between both years.
The new HR motor has 80% of the internals changed. The torque curve is also very flat compared to the older models. You'd be surprised at how Nissan fixed these engines.
@Mikew995 I have an 07 350Z, and I know for a fact that my car is not 200lbs heavier than an 03 and such. my car weighs about 3350lbs (Enthusiast model) and the 03 is around 3200-3275lbs (roughly 100lbs lighter than my car). And by using the 03 HP ratings to rate my cars current 306 SAE HP motor, my car technically has 320hp vs the 287hp 03's, so no, the weight does not nullify the hp advantage. and the 07's rev higher.

If anything it would hurt his bottom end not top end. A 3 inch exhast is only going to hurt partial throttle performance/drivability not WOT (if not partial throttle tuning was done). Although he isnt making any more power than he would be if he had a 2.5 inch exhaust.

Yeah but this car doesnt have cams. Ive never seen back to back dyno comparisons between 3" & 2.5" exhausts on a car that has the stock valvetrain so i cant judge. And honestly he isn't going to catch that z by changing his exhaust anyway.

unfortunatly, he is true. With the 3inch exhaust you are loosing 2-4hp on and some noticeable torque. The v2 is overrated and is nothing compared to a CAI. W/ a raceheader, and stock exhaust this would clean up a 350Z.
sry not a chance beating the Z with those mods, the RSX is not going to make up 70hp. its shorter gearing is helping it from a stop but as soon as the get into 3rd u can see the Z just start to walk away
you dont put a 3" exhaust on a N/A engine your lossing back pressure i have the same car except i have a neuspeed intake and a greddy ti-c exhaust i walk all over 350z's and evos cars in those categories.

I have an '05 Z GT (stock) and I beat lightly modded SRT-4's, RSX-s's (all day everyday), Si's, SVT Focus's, Speed3's, and GT Stangs...But I think that I know how to drive my car a little better than most...
should you realize it is not much that meaningful comparing skills or anything on a straight road street racing. whoever owns a more powerful and faster acceleration engine usually win, and that's not much of a surprise. when there are corners involved, then that's when we talk about skills and specs. i can't wait to see somebody who'd post some real street racing with the same vehicles here on youtube.

Intake Headers and Exhaust is more than enough for a 350-z. Get K-pro on top of that and you'll smoke SRT-4's, even if they got intake and exhaust. Trust me I know.

Base models are estimated around like 130 whp from what ive seen/hurd. Type S have estimated 150-170 whp depending on year.

sry not a chance beating the Z with those mods, the RSX is not going to make up 70hp. its shorter gearing is helping it from a stop but as soon as the get into 3rd u can see the Z just start to walk away

you dont put a 3" exhaust on a N/A engine your lossing back pressure i have the same car except i have a neuspeed intake and a greddy ti-c exhaust i walk all over 350z's and evos cars in those categories.

I have an '05 Z GT (stock) and I beat lightly modded SRT-4's, RSX-s's (all day everyday), Si's, SVT Focus's, Speed3's, and GT Stangs...But I think that I know how to drive my car a little better than most...

should you realize it is not much that meaningful comparing skills or anything on a straight road street racing. whoever owns a more powerful and faster acceleration engine usually win, and that's not much of a surprise. when there are corners involved, then that's when we talk about skills and specs. i can't wait to see somebody who'd post some real street racing with the same vehicles here on youtube.

See i raced a guy in a z me in my 06rsx_s. Just some random guy @ 40mph it was a danm good race, and when we got to the light he looks over and said YOU have a nice ass car! Right as i was saying the same thing. So i say Respect to all who paid for what they wanted, and loves the rush!

yeah. okay. knag05 do you know what your talking about? first off, an i/h/e is enough to beat an srt4. go look and youll find the vids. secondly, a stock 05-06 type-s with a turbo kit running 10psi is enough to run down a cobra let alone a stage 3 srt4. go look on streetfire.

1. K-Pro = ECU management system. comes with software that allows for specific engine calibration for best performance
2. GT35RK20Z1, quit talking out of your ass. RSX with full bolt ons still won't beat a lightly modded SRT4. you know this huh?

heh.. everyone makes these posts and comments. "run what you brung" when my 350z was N/A and i got beat by a cobra.. i didn't say that if i turbo'd my car i'd win. I went and turbo'd my car. Now when i get beat by a Shelby GT500 or Z06 vette.. i don't say.. Well if i build my engine i can beat them. i'm gonna DO IT! :)

Intake Headers and Exhaust is more than enough for a 350-z. Get K-pro on top of that and you'll smoke SRT-4's, even if they got intake and exhaust. Trust me I know.
