yes fifa 08 is still playable online. don't waste your money on the fifa 09 for ps2 , it doesnt come with the online feature

the problem is tht firstly tou have to plug the ethernet cable into your modem and then your ps2 but make sure the modem and the ps2 is turned off from the swich completly and in your network configuration set everything to auto but make sure you have set the network configuration befor this.

1. Me and a opponent pick teams,

2. Were ready to play the match,

I kinda know what to do so when you start playing a match and it freezes. (atlest it works for me (:) Okay I got the same probs with the damn connection thing, but when it comes dont press "yes" (reconnect) press no and log in again..it will take a wile longer and you will lose connection but when you finally dont and play a match it wont freeze :D it works for me so dont be mad at me if it doesnt work for you. :)

This will decrease the message error by approx. 20~40%. (In the first run)

3. Log into ea server and you may experience the same thing, but say no and when it says if you want to save the profiles, say yes and turn off your ps2.

4.The next time, it will say its corrupted, but still with your available data.

5.Go into ea online and go IMMIDEATELY to your carreer stats and keep pressing R1.

6.If your stats pop up, that problem is solved UNTIL you play an opponent.

OK, i found a temporary solution that reduces the "You have lost your connection" error message.

1. Go to memory card browser and delete everything exept replays

2. start fifa 08 and make another new profile(Which will bring back stuff like auto log in etc)

I noticed that this player is from the U.S.A. I also live in the USA and I think it depends on the country you're at.

I can't connect now for 5 days, but there is people in China and Australia that are probably connected.

Hey guys. First thanks to the guy who started this -its quite funny , but it tells me others are having problems too.

Here is what happens:

I can play any other mode on Fifa 08 ps2

As soon as I go online i connect fine and the match loads we set our lineups and just right after kick off the PS2 freezes (no reset working nothing) and a TERRIBLE HORRIBLE LOUD BUZZING SOUND COMES OUT OF MY SPEAKERS. I HATE IT. I cant play online at all this happens every time.. :(
