Now Tim Duncan is no longer singing with Ernie and the boys. He is such a wonderful bass singer and is going to be so missed. Best of luck to Tim in what ever he does. One thing for sure and that is there isn't another bass singer that can fill his shoes.
There may never be another George Younce or Glen Payne but it is tribute to their memory to hear new groups sing it like they did. Tim Duncan can't do it any closer to George without being him!!!
yes the bass tim duncan is so good i love him he is my favorite bass singer i might get to see them come to fargo,North Dakota some time in the near fuither.
great bass singing by ernie but mr. george younce did it like no one else can and we can't forget mr. glen payne who also who played a big part in the cathedral's version of this song.
I agree that he is a fantastic bass. I just wish that he wouldn't do that thing with the microphone, however. I cannot understand why he thinks he has to emphasize the 1st beat of each word by pushing the mic into his mouth and then pulling it back again. I don't remember Younce ever doing such a thing.
Just a minor criticism, but something that I would love to see changed!
I think Tim sounds just like a "young" George and as long as he's singing it's like we have a little of George still with us. Singing bass is hard enough , singing lead base is ten times harder!
if you read tim's story on the group's web page it says he was singing lead and i think tenor til they "found out" he had a natural bass. that must've hurt til he found this out :):) he hits some low stuff
love it.. I love Eh&SSQ. Great Christian Outreach oppurtunity. Our kids would love this too if they had the oppurrtunity. As parents, lets give our kids the oppurtunity. Lets buy tickets and we can do some bonding. Lets make memories. Who knows. God work in mysterious ways
I admire these young men for carrying on the old songs. The look might be new but the message is the same. And another vote for Tim. I remember a youn George Younce and Tim is a great singer,as are all the group.
yea ernie haase and signature sound may dance, they may not be what people would consider a "gospel" group but ive seen them in concert and they know exactly what they r singin about and who gets all the glory and honor! I LOVE EHSSQ!!!! they r rlly amazing!!!!
He ain't George Younce, and they ain't the Cathedrals...but they're pretty close! These guys are blessed and sharing that blessing. What tremendous talent!
You tube had a video of the cathedrals doing this song. apparently this versionis no longer available on you tube,. I wish that they would pull it out of the archives and offer it up again. Good pone to compare with Ernie Haase
I believe it was pulled by the one that posted it... I had that one on a playlist, and I loved it! If I can find the video it came from I may post it...
This is an awesome song and very well done, but no one can compare to George Younce singing this with the best Southern Gospel group of all time - the Cathedrals. God rest the sainted memories of George and Glen.
He reminds me of George Younce..and yes I agree...no one will ever best him...but when this bass' voice matures as he gets in to his older years...his voice will be INCREDIBLE
I'll always remember the first time I heard Tim Duncan and the first thing that came into my mind was that he he reminds me of Ol George! He's definately gonna be a legend in his own right.
You guys and your dancing issue!!!! I'm really not seeing what the big deal is. When your not watching the video......just listening to the music itself........do you not find yourselves tapping your feet or your hands along to the beat??? I sure do. There is no real reason that these guys shouldn't do the same. If you don't want to watch them dance then buy the CD not the DVD. Just listen to the music and don't worry bout the video.
these guys are awesome i wish every christian were this happy to praise god as these guys are this group is on fire for god and they love to show it.keep it going boys you are awesome.
well i think that all this dance stuff depends of you, if you really dance because you feel the song and you have joy to dance then not is bad but if you dance only because you want move your body or just to copy someone then i think not is good

oh this is my favorite version if this song by them. They are halarious! i love the south africa homecoming. one of the best! it wouldnt be the same if EH&SSQ werent there! they make it awsome!
i agree mennonitegirl2, i saw them at a gaither homecoming concert and they just brought the place down. they kept getting called for an encore again and again and again, and the homecoming crew often started it! lol
