Whats funnier than stairstabs, are people failing to do stairstabs. Everytime I see a spy go upstairs, instead of keep going foward, I run backwards and look up.

The problem with me stairstabbing / overstabbing is they either saw me jumping too early or I overshot my jump and stab the air...

It probably works best on pyros because the vast majority of very unskilled players play as pyro.

Lol, I'm shocked you still haven't gotten them to work yourself. I was able to get them to work like 95% of the time on tr_airstab the very day they changed the stab mechanics.

it works better on no-crit servers because the critical backstab animation isnt there. just the old poke/slash stabs

@vys226 Leaping stab is where you jump off a higher platform as you about to hit the ground you stab. He never called a stair stab leaping stab on the stairs, unless you jump off stairs to get to the lower platform, stair stabs are stabs on stairs.

Overstabs are still very doable. You just have to time them differently. I've done them to medics and scouts in-game, and on tr_airstab I get at least 9/10 stabs. :0

Calm down. If I want a reference to show people what I mean by "stair stab" or "overstab" without a 5-10 minute tutorial, there's no harm or stupidity involved in just showing them a 5-second clip instead.

i have "understabbed" many ppl, it is much easier to do, but ppl get angry and whine "you cheat, i was over you, you use hacks". But this requires much skills.

The pyro? I've done it to some really good players, actually. They have to turn around in the fraction of a second when you pass over their midpoint to stop it, which they'll generally only do if they are specifically ready for it.

I use "overstab" and "leap stab" to distinguish between the jump+stab maneuvers. The latter is supposed to be unexpected and generally not from the front.

Quite frankly, I think people can call techniques whatever they want. None of it is actually official.
