@Evthedrunk I think you have Phil confused with Pete Seeger, who was something of a mentor to him. Phil was just a wee lad when the McCarthy hearings were going on, so the witch hunters wouldn't have had much interest in him. Phil was present at the trial of the Chicago 7, and his testimony consisted of reciting the lyrics of "I Ain't Marchin' Anymore."

@DavidVT23 The tune is actually "Tom Hardy", a traditional American folk song, which Woody also used for "Tom Joad".
