  • such an amazing voice

  • This tune is Woody Guthrie's Tom Joad.

  • @DavidVT23 The tune is actually "Tom Hardy", a traditional American folk song, which Woody also used for "Tom Joad".

  • Great Phil Ochs!

  • Saw him with Country Joe McDonald about a year later at Hunter College auditorium in NY. He had just returned from a trip to Latin American with the Julian Beck's Living Theater and recounted not only the suppression of the people of the South, but how fearful the governments were of the theater troupe, which was barred from entering many of the countries.

  • Some of us remember Phil, and what he stood for.

  • @Evthedrunk I think you have Phil confused with Pete Seeger, who was something of a mentor to him. Phil was just a wee lad when the McCarthy hearings were going on, so the witch hunters wouldn't have had much interest in him. Phil was present at the trial of the Chicago 7, and his testimony consisted of reciting the lyrics of "I Ain't Marchin' Anymore."

  • Erg mooi.

  • Don't think it gets any more real than Phil... If there's music in heaven Phil's Playing... God Bless...RIP

  • 06:00 - Glad someone fixed his hair ...

  • Joe Hill, Paul Robeson, Phil Ochs... everyone should listen. Now more than ever.

  • Bravo! Bravo! God belss you Phil!
