  • Eh. I use autodesk products everyday, and it kinda angers me you guys are going out and trying to patent this "new" tangible way of controlling FOV when its been done already over and over.

You are wasting your time making this, but still can pump out a faulty version of civil3d every year, and then make it so each release is incompatible with every other release. (see 2009vs2010).

As a paying customer, I'm disappointed.

  • The 2 product designers involved in tis are separate from the Civil 3D team. I do not believe this went beyond the protoype stage.

  • I'd rather have a button that's "s" in xsi, "alt" in maya and mudbox, and "ctrl+alt" in max and so on... Wouldn't that be soooo much easier? They should ask their customers BEFORE they spend our money.

  • The guy on the video shall try with a mouse, it's the way smoother and accurate :D

  • i was thinking just the same!

  • Looks like an Spacepilot or Spaceball

  • I'm not sure what market you're shooting for with this thing, but I see pretty tremendous possibilities when paired with a stereoscopic display.

Not sure how tightly guarded this things secrets are but, is it controlled by gyroscopic sensors?

  • How can i make one? Where do i get a driver? etc....

  • This is special hardware that is being patented. It is just a preview at this point.

  • I think it's a nonsense adds a new (huge) device only for navigation, unless it will be used in presentations.

Why not includes an extra button/wheel/joystick in the side of the mouse? Think is better

  • Thank you for the feedback. This device is different from a joystick in that it does not have to rest on a surface.

  • does it also make the music?

  • I can see how you might think that, but no. I used YouTube's AudioSwap feature to add the public domain music to the video. Before that it was silent!

  • great! is this similar to the space navigator controller?

  • I am glad you like it.

  • Pretty cool. Can it sense a zoom in & out?

  • Not at this time. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • cool!
