The Girls (The Wigs , The Dresses) , The vehicles , the story , the whole show is pure cult and unforgettable! I own a 1972 Dinky Toys S.H.A.D.O. - Mobile in mint condition which I'm very proud of - what a reminder of the old days of my childhood. (Not for sale thank you) I was so scared of those Aliens back then (lol) - unbelievable if you see it today. R.I.P. Ed and Mike! UFO forever!
Terrific little tribute video! Did you know Michael Billington died five days before Ed Bishop in 2005? Michael passed 6/3 and Ed 6/8, both from cancer related illnesses. I understand they were friends until the end. It was a GREAT show....
After UFO, Ed Bishop returned to America where he struggled to find work. So he did a spot of painting and decorating in NYC for cash. While he was painting someone's kitchen, the mother and daughter retired to the living room to watch TV where he heard the familiar refrain of "da-da-da....dadada."
UFO is a fantastic show! Love the SHADO people, the futuristic look, the amazing model work and the great score by Barry Gray. It really was ahead of its time in some aspects. The plots are very interesting and exciting, sometimes bizarre but cool and highly entertaining. Cult tv at its best!
we moved around a lot as my Dad had been in the Army. I was just discovering girls when this show came on. Recently I saw a girl wearing a skirt even shorter than the Lt's !
I would just like to add another tribute for Peter Gordeno who also starred in UFO who passed away recently due to cancer. he was and stil is a much loved actor singer, song writer, producer and many more. we are all going to miss you especially Angela. rest in peace. sam hayes xxx
amazing stuff, my mum used to let me stay up late when it was on in the early seventies (i was about 8 years old). I saw the ed straker car parked on a driveway in Bridgenorth, shropshire, in 1986. it belonged to one of the production staff so I was told. loved all of the vehicles in the show, I had a ufo interceptor for christmas in 1974, I lost the rocket for it by boxing day!! that pissed me off....
A great up-grade from thunderbirds, i watch the repeats on a sunday morning just after i got married in late 72. I now own them all on dvd plus a S.I.D model
Great series! First time I saw it I was 6, in the US 1973-1974, then again 3 years later and I remember the best episodes most clearly: Question of Priorities, Sub Smash, and The Psychobombs.

He said he didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

I was a great friend of Mike's throughout the many years he lived on the Isle of Man.
We had a lot of good times getting drunk together. ( A few funny stories too)
Hard to take in that he's not with us anymore.

One sexy show.
I think Mike Myers credits UFO with influencing the look for "Austin Powers"
Mike and Ed RIP.
