  • I used the syringe that I got with an injet refill kit.

    Good video.

  • If your dead battery has plenty of acid inside do you dump out the liquid to make room for the epsom salt mixture ?

  • Forget the brand...did u see where it was bought?

  • I like how he says funny little things....what he means is sodium chloride nay...magnesium sulfate yay

  • How about some Safety glasses.?

  • @joehast inportant

  • I would think that you would have to remove and rinse the salt and add water or the salt would eat up the plats ??

  • Do you have to use that much Epsom salt if the batterie isn't that low?

  • ACID!!!

  • that is not true ,,, to sit battery on floor will not hurt it .... wood battery from Model A car Yes !!

  • Epsum salt....hows it tadte

  • Your not supposed to set batteries on the ground.. Esp concrete floor, it grounds them.

  • @MrVetis concrete is an insulator not a conductor, thats why its used in buildings

  • @MrVetis

Actually, setting a battery on WARM concrete does nothing.

On cold concrete the heat transfer is quick. ..discharging faster than

if the battery were up off of the concrete.

    Think heat sink.

Go out and sit on your garage floor in the winter.

  • what if you dont have a charger?

  • @outdoorsman310 i don't know

  • @outdoorsman310 Buy one ( :

  • Actually I have a question,, did it start the lawnmower just ok so so, or super well? Also on the battery draining.. its no thte ground , its the fact that with lead acid (flooded = liquid electrolyte ) the is always a very fine mist that forms on top of the battery.. this mist is conductive and thus the battery draines very slowly over time whether its on the ground or not. The cure is wipe off the battery top and clean electrodes, also a little baking soda with water will get rid of mist.

  • NICE VIDEO ! THANKS.. some are shocking golf cart (also used in electric cars) with something either 1. High volts , low amps (ie 2 x higher volts such 24 volts ) for 12 v battery (lead acid type) for 12 - 24 hrs or 2. Super high amps at normal voltage (IE 200amps for short few seconds at 12 v) ... "they " say it works. goto doublebatterylife come look youtube videos (3 separate videos) showing how our patented USA circuit is getting double running time out of alkaline batteries.

  • Kool

  • if i wanted to watch hours of advertisements, i would watch tv. if you continue allowing advertising on your videos, i will stop using youtube because i hate advertising that takes up my precious time.

  • Um...heh....i learned long ago when i was younger and was told on many occaision that you do not ever leave a battery on the ground (concrete/dirt/ect) The ground will pulll the charge right out of it in a short time.Always set the battery on wood if you do.Like a piece of one by twelve or plywood.Wet ground will even draw it down faster. And if left on the ground long enough it will never hold a charge again. (junk....yuppers)

  • @mastersduhgree that is a myth. neither plastic or concrete/dirt are conductive. if anything, its the combination of cold/time that kills them.

  • @AnotherDayInTheNJ thank you

  • @AnotherDayInTheNJ I would agree but; never the less this thing occurs. The ground IS a source of electrons. In the old days they would just run one wire to your house(if you lived out in the sticks)And they would then drive a metal stake into the ground to draw electrons from.Dangerous but it worked and thats what they did.So it stands to reason that electrons (in the ground)would draw them off the plates in a battery left on the ground.Electricity runs from negative to positive.

  • @mastersduhgree i agree, but it would have to go through plastic and concrete, both of which are not in the least bit conductive. like i said, cold/time.

  • @mastersduhgree .I live in a house built 1922...the wiring you're talking about is called..Single Wire, Earth Return...

  • whERE DO YOU BUY epson salt??

  • @guitarpikz any pharmacy

  • @ils360 , okay, thanks you...i'm gonna give it a go...see if works

  • @guitarpikz awesome if you want to post a video response of it you can =)

  • It's a Never start, there's your problem... My 1976 f-100 will startup everyday even after a couple of months and runs fine, it then dies on some random day, so I took it out charged it, then left it sit for a couple of days and when I tested it again, it was DEAD! Not even hooked up to the truck :(

  • @MrTpengineer this should fix it

  • @ils360 Yea it only works for a little while, sometimes it will work for up to a year :)

  • @MrTpengineer mine has been working a lot longer than that

  • @ils360 Dunno lol.

  • awesome...I was looking for something that dissolves human flesh...hahahaha

justkidding, for real I was only kidding.

  • so if my bat sits at 12.3 ish but its week on a cold crank should i top it off with epson salt then drain then charge?

  • @djrodriguezthizz yep just make shure that once it go's dead you plug it in right away

  • Thank you for the video response!

  • Thanks for the response bud!

  • @mbyr31 your welcome =)

  • what i espom salt and when to find it im from albania i didn't to translate espom salt :S and is this epsom salt for Pickles

  • @kosovodervo100 it is salt that is mostly used to soak in like to soak in in the bath tub you should be able to find some in your pharmacy

  • what i espom salt and when to find it im from albania i didn't to translate espom salt :S

  • everstart the only battery you can garinty will be crap after a year

  • The magic happens when you deep cycle the battery with the solution in it. It works on converting the buildup on the plate back into electrolyte.

  • I just did an old car battery the way he showed and now it works like new and passes a load test. The battery was still in the car and wouldn't hold a charge for more than 24 hours and not at full capacity either.I pulled the battery out of my mercury then I watched the video and fallowed the instructions and it worked like a charm.

  • Does the Epsom salt dissolve the corrosion?

  • @chipjumper ya it dose

  • Wait - so after you "clean" it like Tabamoura says, do you fill them with acid -- straight from the bottle, non-diluted with anything else?

  • @chipjumper that is a different way of doing it it only would need to be diluted if it calls for it on the bottle of acid

  • I love how he says not to get contaminants in the electrolyte, but he won't clean the filthy battery before he pours the liquid in.

  • @tabamoura i love how you speak like i wont hear it.... the contaminants on the battery came from the battery clean it if you wish but i did not that is true

  • @ils360 Sorry . I did not mean to be rude. I was just pointing out the Irony. I guess if was sitting next to you, it would be a joke and you would laugh. Anyways. I enjoyed the video. I just fixed a battery myself with Epsom salt. IF you want the best results.: Drain the old acid . Rinse the battery once with distiled water . Dilute 10 spoons of Epsom salt in a 1/4 of hot distilled water. Fill the cells and charge the battery .discharge, rinse again, fill with acid ($3 at autozone), charge it.

  • @tabamoura ya i can see your side of the story .... i will try that i did not know thay sold acid at autozone!!! what do you ask for??? just battery acid??

  • @ils360 I actually got from Advanced parts ( sorry about confusion) ask for battery acid or battery fluid. I bought the 32 oz bottle. ( good for a normal size battery) part number is CYCLE ACID

  • is the battery still working..as im going to try it..........

  • @valikyriee yes and verry well mite i add

  • I seen that at the end you were going to do it on those yellow Everlast Battery. I own one for a big car to but before I do it I wanted to know if it worked on those Battery's?

  • @argon8gallium it works more then it did it did not work at all but now it works about half way

  • @ils360 deep cycle the battery again and let it charge for over 24 hours at 6amp minimum

  • This works awesome!!! I bought a vw about a month ago and it had a few year old Interstate battery in it, wouldnt even take a charge before, now I cant get the battery to go dead!! wal-mart for the distilled water, and im sure you can get the epsom salt there too, I just happened to have the salt lying around. THIS DEFINITELY WORKS!!

  • @jettaracer56 awsome im glad i could help and i am glad you found this video =)

  • hey nice diy

i am trying same with my dead car battery....!!

i aml pm you for complete detail and questions... :)

  • nice

  • do the batteries have to have the acid out of it

  • thats good to know how to do that, and i have that exact same charger i got it for $3 and i use it on everything to give it a slow charge

  • @Bobbymitchell10 thay work good

  • @ils360...That name is pronounced "showers". My mom worked there years ago testing diodes that went into the battery chargers.

  • @TheHossHobart hmmm that is cool

  • doing a vid on the bigger batteries too?

  • @onyxreddragon no probly not
