You could learn a lesson from Def Leppard who waited for their drummer to come back after losing his arm. And if he doesnt sound as good who cares. He is Foreigner. I remember hearing Lou about 2 or 3 years ago or so and he was singing "Waiting For a Girl Like You" and I teared up because his voice was so weak and uneven......I learned later that it was from physical complications of a heart condition??....I know about his other serious problem but does anyone know if the heart thing is an issue any longer?? Mick Jones should be ashamed of himself for trying to replace Lou....the new dude is good but it's not the same.

Ike, Gramm had a brain tumor that caused him to lose part of his pituary gland when it was removed and caused him to gain weight.

I love Lou's voice, on EVERY record he's ever done, sympathize with the cancer etc., and wish him well, but his voice (currently) is shot. It may improve, and I hope so, but as it stands today, it's not like it was by ANY means - end of! Also, I don't like his website - "his unique brand of r'n'r". What is "unique" about it? It's A1-excellent, certainly, but other bands make songs just as awesome! He doesn't "own" a particular type of music!

That's from complications from his brain surgery. He had a tumor remmoved. The surgery did not go as planned. He had some nerve damage that affected his voice some early on. There were some other complications as well. The weight is due to the medication he has to take.

His voice is actually getting better the more he sings. He sounds much better now than he did when he first started his comeback touring.

Shame on Mick Jones for giving up on him!

Thing is, gramm isn't even in his prime in this video. He's like 60 years old and can still sing with beauty. The song is detuned by a step compared to the original studio version, which is what a lot of artists do when playing live.
